  • Patent number: 11834869
Abstract: A handle set includes a main body that has a handle and a faceplate positioned around the handle, the faceplate having a toggle aperture. The handle set includes a locking mechanism that includes a locking piece that has a locking notch. The locking mechanism includes a toggle positioned within a toggle housing, the toggle being movable relative to the toggle housing. The toggle includes a toggle tail configured to be received into the locking notch. The toggle includes a toggle head removably attached to the toggle tail, the toggle head being at least one of a privacy attachment button and a passage attachment button. At least a portion of the privacy attachment button extends from the toggle aperture and beyond the faceplate. The passage attachment button interfaces with the toggle housing to prevent relative movement between the passage attachment button and the toggle housing.

  • Patent number: 10837197
Abstract: Improvements handle for door closing is disclosed. The handle is rotatable from an outer housing that both protects the handle and provides a structural frame for mounting the handle to a pre-existing door. A typical installation is to place the handle closer to the hinge side of the door. This allows a user to require a shorter reach and pull to the door. Because opening a door for a wheelchair requires the door to almost be completely opened. The handle also has a rotation stop that prevents the handle from being rotated out of the housing more than 90 degrees. A retention and extending mechanism both holds the handle within the housing and slightly opens the handle for a user to grasp. The housing can be surface mount or flush mount. The handle can allow for weight bearing support of a user.

  • Patent number: 7748245
Abstract: A latch assembly for releasably securing a first member in a closed position relative to a second member is disclosed. The latch assembly includes a frame, a rotary pawl, a locking member, a handle, and a lock plug. The frame is adapted for attachment to the first member. The handle is pivotally attached to the frame and is movable between a closed position and an open position. The locking member retains the pawl in the latched position when the locking member is in an undeflected configuration. The handle causes the locking member to deflect and release the pawl from a latched position when the locking member is in an unlocked position and the handle is moved to the open position. The lock barrel is supported by the frame and can selectively move the locking member to a locked position where the locking member cannot be actuated by the handle.

  • Patent number: 6644077
Abstract: An inner unlatching mechanism for a bathroom lock includes an inner unlatching rod, a fixing member, a locking wheel, and a follower wheel. The fixing member is fixed to an inner rose and mounted around the inner S unlatching rod. A truncated conic unlatching groove and a locking groove are defined in a side of the fixing member. The locking groove has a depth rod not equal to that of the unlatching groove. When an inner handle is turned to turn an inner spindle through 40-60 degrees, an engaging block of the locking wheel is moved into the unlatching groove of the fixing member, and an arcuate drive portion of the locking wheel is disengaged from a notch of the follower wheel, thereby achieving the unlatching function.

  • Patent number: 5791174
Abstract: Paddle handle locks for securing push-pull, paddle-style door latches. In a first preferred embodiment the paddle handle lock is characterized by a handle lock having a frame with parallel side plates separated by spacers and fitted with a clamp arm pivotally attached to one of the spacers. Registering frame pilot holes and clamp arm pilot holes facilitate locking the clamp within the frame, such that the respective spacers prevent movement of the paddle door handle upon which the handle lock device is mounted. The padlock can be removed to allow pivotal extension of the clamp arm and manipulation of the door handle or removal of the handle lock from the door handle, to render the door latch operable. In another preferred embodiment a lockset handle lock is provided which includes a cylinder lock mounted in a lock housing and fitted with a pivoting clamp arm, one end of which clamp arm extends into the lock housing and engages a conventional cylinder bolt on the lock cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4763934
Abstract: Door lock and lock assemblies are useful, for example, in vehicle cabs. Latch and lock assemblies of known structures which can be unlocked from inside the cab while remaining locked from outside the cab require complex and bulky linkage assemblies. The subject door latch and lock assembly includes pivotal outer and inner actuator. The pivotal movement of the outer actuator simultaneously pivots the inner actuator to open a catch mechanism. Pivot movement of the inner actuator can be independent of the outer actuator. A locking lever can be pivoted to a locked position to prevent pivotal movement of the outer actuator. Pivotal movement of the inner actuator is not prevented by the locking lever. Thus, the disclosed door latch and lock assembly can be opened from inside the cab while remaining locked from outside the cab without requiring complex and bulky linkage assemblies.
