Abstract: A method of operating electronic equipment, wherein said electronic equipment utilizes a wireless signal to communicate, includes determining if the electronic equipment is operated within a moving vehicle based on a characteristic of the wireless signal and inhibiting operation of the electronic equipment if the electronic equipment is in a moving vehicle.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided that for enable alerts in an enterprise application system (EAS). An alert system receives a request to enable an alert definition for triggering an alert regarding human resources data in the EAS, monitors human resources data entered into the EAS by a manager via a user interface (“UI”), receives data that triggers the alert, and renders the alert in the UI.

Abstract: A locking mechanism for a hurricane panel installation protectively covering a window of a building, the panel installation including a panel member sized to cover the window, a header attached to the building above the window for securing an upper edge of the panel member, and a lower F-track attached to the building below the window which supports attaching bolts which pass through and secure a lower edge of the panel member. The locking mechanism includes a padlock having a hasp securely positionable in a hasp receiving arrangement to prevent substantial movement of the lower edge of the panel member and unauthorized removal of the panel member.
Abstract: A link for connecting at least one securing member, such as chain, with a locking device having a body and a shackle, where the link comprises a base having a through hole adapted to receive the shackle of a locking device and a first securing element associated with the base, the first securing element adapted to receive a first securing member, wherein the shackle of a lock may be inserted through the through hole such that the lock blocks the first securing member from being separated from the securing element. Also disclosed is a system for securing a locking device having a handle hinged to a vertical lockrod, where the system comprises a strap and a link adapted to be installed upon the vertical lockrod and handle such that the handle is prevented from being manipulated in such a manner as to unlock the locking device.
Abstract: A clasp assembly of the type designed to lockingly secure a cover element to some type of body, housing or support platform wherein the clasp assembly includes a hinge plate having an angularly oriented configuration so as to substantially conform to the outer configuration of the mated lid and support platform. A hinge assembly is structurally defined by cooperating elements of both the hinge plate and the base of the hinge assembly to which it is attached. The hinge assembly comprises a pivot pin interconnected to both the base portion and the hinge plate to define a movable interconnection therebetween wherein the base portion is secured to the support platform.
