Abstract: Present embodiments include a system and method for providing an input-driven, switching-enabled display device for an automation controller. The display device may include a communication interface port, such as a universal serial bus (USB) port, which is installed in the display device so that it may be easily accessible by a user. The port may increase a user's productivity and efficiency by reducing the time it takes to connect a PC to the automation controller. The display device may also include an interface switch that performs display functionality or port adapter functionality based upon whether a port connection and/or port communication traffic are detected. Thus, embodiments may enable the display device to act as both a text display and a gateway to configure the automation controller with a personal computer (PC) through the use of the easy access port.

Abstract: A thermostat for controlling an HVAC system is described, the thermostat having a user interface that is visually pleasing, approachable, and easy to use while also providing ready access to, and intuitive navigation within, a menuing system capable of receiving a variety of different types of user settings and/or control parameters. For some embodiments, the thermostat comprises a housing, a ring-shaped user-interface component configured to track a rotational input motion of a user, a processing system configured to identify a setpoint temperature value based on the tracked rotational input motion, and an electronic display coupled to the processing system. An interactive thermostat menuing system is accessible to the user by an inward pressing of the ring-shaped user interface component. User navigation within the interactive thermostat menuing system is achievable by virtue of respective rotational input motions and inward pressings of the ring-shaped user interface component.

Abstract: A method for influencing a control program having a plurality of first functions and at least one of the first functions is configured to control an actuator, and a memory is provided and the memory has memory regions occupied by subprograms assigned to the first functions, whereby there is a branch address in the program code of the control program when one of the first functions is called up that points to a memory address of the subprogram associated with the function call. The control program is analyzed for the occurrence of function calls, and the branch addresses, associated with the function calls, and addresses of the return commands are ascertained. One of the first functions is selected to be deleted. The first function is replaced by a second function, in which the program code of the selected first function is overwritten by the program code of the second function.

Abstract: A plant control system carrying out a single shot output without adding a program concerning signal transfer between a supervisory control device and a programmable logic controller to the supervisory control device and the programmable logic controller. The plant control system includes a single shot output functioning section which causes a SCADA system connected to a programmable controller for controlling the plant to send a control signal corresponding to control content of a selected plant to the programmable controller, and, thereafter, to send an erasure signal for erasing the control signal held in the programmable controller to the programmable controller. The single shot output functioning section is outside of the SCADA system and outside of the programmable controller.

Abstract: The present invention discloses an electronic device and control method thereof. The electronic device according to the present invention comprises a main engine and a USB man-machine interface unit connected thereto; an illuminating source and a drive circuit thereof are arranged on the USB man-machine interface unit; the USB man-machine interface unit receives illuminating information sent by the main engine, generates a control command according to the illuminating information and sends the control command to the drive circuit so as to drive the illuminating source. Because the present invention sends the illuminating information to the USB man-machine interface unit through the main engine and then obtains the control command to switch on or off the illuminating source after processing the illuminating information through the USB man-machine interface unit, a user can participate in controlling the illuminating source so as to realize an illuminating effect expected by the user.
