  • Patent number: 11663586
Abstract: Example methods and apparatus for combining electronic payment and rewards redemption at retail points of sale are disclosed. A point of sale (POS) system may be configured to facilitate contactless payments while securing customer payment data. When a customer with a payment application installed on a mobile device initiates a transaction, the application obtains reference data associated with a customer account from an account services server of the POS. The reference data is then passed from the application of the mobile device to a POS terminal, such as by near field communication. Upon receiving the token, the POS terminal obtains customer payment data from the account services server and rewards program data for the customer from a rewards program server. Available rewards may be automatically applied prior to processing payment using the payment data to complete the contactless payment transaction.

If the older message is present in the database, a time difference and an energy difference between the new and older messages are calculated. Then, a time granularity level is selected based on the time difference. An energy consumption distribution between the timestamps of the new and older messages is obtained based on the time granularity level and the energy difference.

  • Patent number: 11551268
Abstract: A collateral generation system generates and sends physical direct mail to one or more users on behalf of an entity with which the users have interacted. The collateral generation system can send physical direct mail to prospects, who may not have a prior relationship with the entity. In general, prospects would not normally be sent mailings because the entity lacks some primary information about the entity, such as an address or sufficient identifying information to obtain an address of the entity. The collateral generation system identifies prospects based on activity online and obtains mailing addresses of the prospects from an identification service while retaining user anonymity of those prospects. The collateral generation system generates collateral, which may be personalized for a defined block group of prospects (e.g., individuals or organizations), and the collateral is sent as physical mail to the prospects on behalf of the entity.

Abstract: Provided are various mechanisms and processes for generating dynamic merchant scoring predictions. A system is configured to receive datasets comprising pairings between training customer profiles and training merchant profiles. For each pairing, a set of feature values corresponding to features specified by the customer and merchant profiles are extracted and converted into a training vector to train a machine learning model to determine a weighted coefficient for each feature. Once sufficiently trained, the system determines a set of available merchant profiles for a customer profile in response to receiving a search request from a customer associated with the customer profile. For each pairing between the customer profile and an available merchant profile, the system determines an order score for the available merchant based on the weighted coefficients and an input set of feature values specified by the customer profile and the available merchant profile.
