Abstract: An upsell purchase flow in an e-commerce system is provided. After a customer has purchased a product from a vendor, an upsell opportunity is provided to the customer through an upsell pitch page. The upsell pitch page advertises an additional upsell product in order to maximize the purchase transaction with the customer. Responsive to the customer accepting the upsell opportunity, rather than adding the upsell product to an electronic shopping cart, a marketplace server that facilitates transactions between the customer and the vendor charges the customer for the upsell product at that time. Multiple upsell opportunities may be provided to the customer after the initial sale is completed.

Abstract: A shipping management system comprising a memory configured with shipping records representing shipments from a plurality of carriers and scheduling rules that specify a plurality of update frequencies. The shipping management system comprises a processor coupled to the memory. In another embodiment, the system and method allow a user to receive, store and/or return an item without exposing the item to loss, damage, spoilage or other events that would impair the value of the items. Methods of utilizing the systems described herein are also disclosed.

Abstract: Aspects described herein may relate to methods, systems, and apparatuses that provide new capabilities for recommending purchases to a user based on a new descriptor referred to as “purchase embeddings.” The purchase embedding may include a tuple in a new multi-dimensional search space for describing and tracking purchases of goods and services. Recommendations may be based on a distance between tuples in the search space, which provides a measure of similarity between items represented by the tuples.

In one embodiment of the set-top box, the set-top box is deployed to provide an interactive portal in a hospitality establishment having multiple rooms, such as a hotel. The set-top box is associated with a room and includes a housing that secures a television input, a television output, a processor, a transceiver, and memory therein in an interconnected bus architecture. The set-top box generates a guest interactive portal as well as a housekeeping interactive portal for a guest and housekeeper, respectively. Each of the portals provides relevant feedback on the condition of the room to a server associated with the hotel.

Abstract: Provided is a computer-implemented method for conducting a secure payment transaction for a purchase at a merchant using a client device and a remote point-of-sale (POS) system associated with the merchant. The method includes receiving, with a client device, at least one identifier for at least one product to be purchased, the at least one product associated with a transaction value, and detecting a checkout action with the client device. In response to detecting the checkout action, the method includes generating at least one transaction message based on the transaction value of the at least one item to be purchased and at least one account identifier, generating a cryptogram based at least partially on the at least one transaction message and the at least one issuer key, and transmitting the cryptogram to the remote POS system associated with the merchant. A system and computer program product are also disclosed.

The picker selects a pin, which causes the user interactive map to display a notification characterizing the demand for services at the retailer.

The transfer system constructs a flow network having a source node for each of the plurality of the source sites and a destination node for each of the plurality of the destination sites. An integral approximate solution is generated that transfers the corresponding quantities of the types of requested items to each of the plurality of the destination sites using a maximum flow solver and the flow network.

Abstract: Examples describe data security for communication systems. One example includes validating a merchant system using merchant data and generating a set of merchant credentials. The set of merchant credentials is then used in authentication to facilitate a secure transaction, which involves automatically generating transaction data with a tokenized client account number associated with the secure transaction. A refund request associated with the secure transaction is received with the set of merchant credentials that are used for automatically authenticating the merchant system. The example then involves accessing a database that includes the transaction data for automatically facilitating settlement of a refund payment using the authenticated merchant system and the transaction data.

Abstract: Systems, devices and processes are provided to improve the design and implementation of radio frequency (RF) communication networks. Specifically, these various embodiments improve the likelihood of a successful RF network design by identifying and preferentially utilizing RF transmission sites having a relatively high probability of being successfully incorporated into the RF network. These various embodiments provide a site qualification database that includes site data for a plurality of RF transmission sites. When so implemented, the site qualification database is utilized to analyze the site data and generate a plurality of site scores, with each of the plurality of site scores providing a viability metric for the corresponding RF transmission site. The plurality of site scores is then utilized in rating each of the plurality of RF transmission sites. These ratings of the RF transmission sites are then utilized in an RF analysis.

The communication channels can be multiplexed and transport asynchronous streams of telematics data. An event bus registers event records for the fleet management and gateway servers.

Abstract: A system includes a computing device configured to receive order data indicating an order placed by a customer on an e-commerce platform and route the order into a test group or a control group when the order data indicates that the order will be filled by a store participating in the comparison test. The computing device is further configured to apply test features to the order if the order was routed into the test group and apply control features to the order if the order was routed into the control group and determine recommended substitute items based on the test features or the control features. The recommended substitute items are intended to replace items ordered by the customer that are unavailable. Abstract: Described in detail herein are systems and methods for network environment for a dynamic learning system for object matching and substitution using hand-held electronic devices. In exemplary embodiments, a hand-held electronic device may receive a request for physical objects of which a first physical object may be unavailable. The hand-held electronic device may transmit an identifier of the first physical object to a central computing system. The central computing system may query the database to retrieve data associated with the first physical object. The centrally computing system may attempt to match the first physical object to an available physical object based on dynamically learned matching behavior using the retrieved data.

Abstract: An operating system for a retail store applies AI to detect, from images of store shelves, out of stock and low stock conditions of shelved items based on camera images. The system takes in a set of input states of the store and recommends corrective action to optimize a set of objectives for the store. These objectives could be to optimize Operating Profit. The input states could be current shelf conditions inferred by shelf cameras. The action could be ordering of restocking, changes in future inventory orders, the number of shelf facings per product, price to charge per product, or labor allocations and scheduling for store staff. Through repeated reiterations over an extended period, the system compares actual results with predicted results and retrains itself to minimize the difference and recommend smarter actions over time to “play the game of retail” better and better each day and in each store.

The method includes receiving, from a client of a web service, a request for a web component included in a web page supported by the web service, where the web component is associated with a data structure that defines design characteristics of the web component. The method further includes determining configuration parameters that define stylistic characteristics of the web component based on data attributes of the web page and the data structure associated with the web component, where the configuration parameters are determined using a model trained on a corpus of web pages supported by the web service. The method further includes transmitting, to the client and in response to the request, an indication of the configuration parameters for the web component, where the indication is configured to display the web component according to the stylistic characteristics defined by the configuration parameters.

Abstract: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for delivering internationally shipped items. Aspects of the invention utilize a unifying database to consolidate information from different parties (e.g., government entities, shippers, carriers, and item recipients) associated with delivery of an internationally shipped item in a common location. The unifying database facilitates communication between different the parties that use different data protocols, different data formats, different data types, different EDI, etc., including direct database entry of some data. Parties can update relevant information corresponding to their responsibilities within the unified database. When one party updates information, other parties can be notified electronically in essentially real time of status changes relevant to item delivery.

The high-density mail services may also include determining an estimated next pick-up time period for each recipient based on the historical mail fulfillment data and dynamically assigning mail bins based, at least in part, on the estimated next pick-up time period.
