Abstract: A method and associated system. In response to a request to deploy a virtual machine in a computing environment, a virtual machine resource usage pattern having attributes matching a subset of attributes in than ordered sequence of attributes is selected from at least one virtual machine resource usage pattern stored in a virtual machine resource usage pattern library, based on an ordering of the attributes in the ordered sequence of attributes, wherein the virtual machine resource usage pattern library stores usage patterns for virtual machines previously deployed. A node on which the virtual machine is to be deployed is selected, based on the selected virtual machine resource usage pattern and predicted runtime resource requirements of the virtual machine to be deployed based on historical running data of virtual machines. The virtual machine is configured for being deployed on the selected node. The virtual machine is deployed on the selected node.

Abstract: Various techniques are provided for carrying out peer-to-peer financial transactions using one or more electronic devices. In one embodiment, a request for payment is transmitted from a first device to a second device using a near field communication (NFC) interface. In response to the request, the second device may transmit payment information to the first device. The first device may select a crediting account and, using a suitable communication protocol, may communicate the received payment information and selected crediting account to one or more external financial servers configured to process and determine whether the payment may be authorized. If the payment is authorized, a payment may be credited to the selected crediting account. In a further embodiment, a device may include a camera configured to obtain an image of a payment instrument. The device may further include an application to extract payment information from the acquired image.

Abstract: An approach for deploying workload in a multi-tenancy computing environment is provided. The approach generates, by one or more computer processors, a tenant ID and a plan ID for a tenant based, at least in part, on a tenant registration request. The approach stores, by one or more computer processors, the tenant ID and the plan ID into a shared system record. The approach receives, by one or more computer processors, a request to update a first tenant service plan. The approach determines, by one or more computer processors, one or more resource pools supporting a second tenant service plan based at least in part, on an association between the tenant ID and the plan ID. The approach deploys, by one or more computer processors, one or more resources from the one or more resource pools supporting the second tenant service plan.

Abstract: Disclosed aspects relate to wireless power distribution management in an open environment. A key-pair identifier is established in a master server. The key-pair identifier can indicate both a first wireless power target device and a first wireless power source distribution center. The master server detects an indication of a wireless power coupling between the first wireless power target device and a second wireless power source distribution center. A usage assessment is determined for the wireless power coupling by the master server using the key-pair identifier. The usage assessment can relate to the first wireless power source distribution center. The master server may provide or output the usage assessment for the wireless power coupling.

Abstract: Usage data representing resource accesses on a network by client devices in a plurality of households is accessed. Based on the accessed usage data, a set of the households that the usage data indicates are associated with a specified number and type of client devices is determined. A subset of the usage data is extracted, where the subset corresponds to resource accesses by client devices associated with the subset of households. Usage information is determined for the specified number and type of client devices based on the extracted subset of the usage data.
