Reporting, Knowledge Discovery (kd) Systems Patents (Class 707/603)
  • Patent number: 9948655
Abstract: Techniques for determining user authorization to access data in dynamically generated database structures are presented. A method can commence upon receiving database statements from a user that is authorized to access a set of data in a database. A physical plan derived from the received database statements to operate on the database is inspected for references to dynamically generated data structures such as aggregates. A modified physical plan having no aggregates and/or other altered database structures is used to issue low latency database statements to operation on the database for verifying user access authorization to the underlying data. In some cases, the foregoing database statements are based on a virtual multidimensional data model. In other cases, a low latency directive is included in the modified physical plan to facilitate a low latency authorization response.

  • Patent number: 9372876
Abstract: Embodiments described herein are directed to providing enhanced database editing and reporting capabilities. In one scenario, a computer system receives a data item request that identifies which data items are to be reported. The computer system accesses a relational data store to determine which information sets are to be used for reporting the requested data items. Based on the determination, the computer system accesses those information sets that are to be used in the reporting the requested data items. The computer system then determines that metadata has been provided for at least one of the accessed information sets. The metadata includes instructions at least partially indicating how the data items are to be reported. The computer system also reports the data items according to the instructions in the provided metadata, regardless of how the data items are to be reported using the existing information sets.

Abstract: A mutual expressions of interest people matching system and method recommends people to other people in accordance with inferences of mutual interests from usage behaviors. A person who receives a recommendation can express an interest to a recommended person, and the expression of interest can be an explicit indication of interest in establishing a computer-implemented relationship or the establishing of a directional distinct relationship between the recommended person and the recommendation receiver. The recommended person can in response express an interest to the recommendation receiver by establishing a computer-implemented relationship between the parties. The relationship between the parties may be a subscription-based relationship and explanations for the recommendations may be provided to recommendation receivers.

  • Patent number: 9002781
Abstract: According to certain embodiments, a set of samples of sensor data is accessed. The set of samples records environmental measurements taken by one or more environmental sensors. A characteristic function is generated from the set of samples. The characteristic function indicates whether a given sample is a member of the set of samples. One or more samples of the set of samples that are associated with a given environmental annotation are identified according to the characteristic function.

Abstract: A method for field management includes analyzing exploration and production (E&P) data sets to generate digital fingerprints of the E&P data sets. Each of the digital fingerprints represents a statistical characteristic of an E&P data set. The method further includes augmenting, by a computer processor, data set indices of the E&P data sets based on the digital fingerprints to generate augmented data set indices, retrieving, in response to a user search input and using the augmented data set indices, a selected E&P data set from the E&P data sets, and presenting the selected E&P data set.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for generating an ensemble model from multiple data sources. In one embodiment, the ensemble model is generated using a global validation sample, a global holdout sample and base models generated from the multiple data sources. An accuracy value may be determined for each base model, on the basis of the global validation dataset. The ensemble model may be generated from a subset of the base models, where the subset is selected on the basis of the determined accuracy values.

  • Patent number: 8996779
Abstract: Service dependency is determined for services in a service oriented architecture (SOA) environment. The steps in determining service dependency include: recording a first triple describing a first service call where the first service calls the second service, and determining the first service is dependent upon the second service based, at least in part, upon the first triple. The recording action is performed dynamically, the recording occurring when the first service call is made. Other related steps include recording the first triple to a timestamp indicating when the first service call is made.

  • Publication number: 20150088808
Abstract: Systems and methods for determining alternative visual analytics are described. Visual analytics result from the application of visual analytic patterns that include instructions for generating visualizations of analytical data. Analytical data is the result of the execution of analytical operations specified in a report definition on an underlying business object. By analyzing the metadata associated with the report definition or visual analytic pattern, alternative visual analytic patterns may be determined that better represent the character of the analytical data. The metadata may include a mapping that associates alternative visual analytic pattern s with a business object, a report definition, or another visual analytic pattern. Accordingly, the determination of the alternative visual analytic patterns may be based on the mappings. The alternative visual analytic pattern s may then be applied to the analytic data to generate one or more alternative visual analytics that may be selected by a user.
