Abstract: Tools and techniques are provided to assist detection of invalid clicks in website activity data. A system calculates or otherwise obtains a historic click quality characterization based on historic web analytics data. The system then identifies a click quality anomaly in the website activity data, namely, a departure from the historic click quality characterization. The identified anomalies may then be used to help guide searches for invalid clicks.

  • Patent number: 8812434
Abstract: A technique for monitoring software which efficiently communicates transaction trace data, including static and dynamic data, from an agent to a manager is disclosed. A tree data structure describes transactions as a sequence of transaction elements. Each branch may correspond to one type of transaction. The nodes along a branch may be associated with components of monitored software that are invoked to perform the transaction. A provisional branch may be constructed when an agent is unable to initially identify the transaction. Transaction data may be stored in association with the nodes in the provisional branch during the monitoring. After information needed to identify the transaction becomes available to the agent, the provisional branch is updated. The transaction data is reported in response to determining the branch in the tree data structure that matches the provisional branch.

Abstract: According to one aspect of the invention, for a database statement that specifies evaluating reporting window functions, a computation-pushdown execution strategy may be used for the database statement. The computation-pushdown execution plan includes producer operators and consolidation operators. Each producer operator computes a respective partial aggregation for each reporting window function based on a subset of rows, and broadcasts the respective partial aggregation. Each consolidation operator fully aggregates all partial aggregations broadcasted from the producer operators. Alternatively, an extended-data-distribution-key execution plan may be used. Each producer operator sends rows based on hash keys to sort operators for computing partial aggregations for at least one reporting window function based on a subset of rows. Each consolidation operator receives and fully aggregates all partial aggregations broadcasted from the sort operators.

Abstract: A system for reconciling object for a configuration management databases employs statistical rules to reduce the amount of manual identification required by conventional reconciliation techniques. As users manually identify matches between source and target datasets, statistical rules are developed based on the criteria used for matching. Those statistical rules are then used for future matching. A threshold value is adjusted as the statistical rules are used, incrementing the threshold value when the rule successfully matches source and target objects. If the threshold value exceeds a predetermined acceptance value, the system may automatically accept a match made by a statistical rule. Otherwise, suggestions of possibly applicable rules may be presented to a user, who may use the suggested rules to match objects, causing adjustment of the threshold value associated with the suggested rules used.

The web search data is then analyzed based on the website-specific categories to generate the search query analytic report. Server status reports may provide details on errors in the indexing of web pages stored on a server that hosts a website. A server status report may be generated by analyzing the server log data to determine web page indexing behaviors of the one or more web crawlers with respect to the web pages stored on the server.

  • Patent number: 8677364
Abstract: In an apparatus for generating a series, a task discrimination unit identifies a task executed on a first device and tasks executed on a second device, on the basis of messages exchanged between those devices. A memory stores models defining caller-callee relationships between caller tasks on the first device and callee tasks on the second device. A series grouping unit produces a series of tasks from a callee-eligible sequence of tasks executed on the second device during a processing time of the identified task on the first device. The series grouping unit achieves this by selecting one of the models that defines the identified task on the first device as a caller task and extracting a portion of the callee-eligible sequence that matches at least in part with the callee tasks defined in the selected model while excluding therefrom the tasks that cannot be the callee tasks.

  • Patent number: 8660984
Abstract: An optical image of a check is obtained at the approximate time of a check-based financial transaction and the approximate time of the check-based financial transaction is recorded. Geographical position/location data and/or voice memo data is then obtained at, or about, the time the optical image of the check is obtained. Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology is then used to extract image-based financial transaction data from the optical image of the check and the geographical position/location data, and/or voice memo data, is also transformed into financial transaction data associated with the check and the check-based financial transaction. The extracted and/or transformed financial transaction data is then used, at least in part, to automatically assign a financial category to the check-based financial transaction and/or transform the category status of the check-based financial transaction.

  • Publication number: 20140046896
Abstract: A system and computer implemented method, in the case of pre-employment screening and where other commercial goods and services require review of an individual (ie an Applicant), wherein a Reviewer uses an automated, efficient permission based system to identify and access private and semi-private information of an Applicant maintained in their social network accounts, with particular benefit where these have privacy settings. The system initiates a Reviewer request, automates the Applicant's identification of and approval to their social network and automates the retrieval of relevant information and reporting to the Reviewer. The process can be initiated by either the Reviewer or the Applicant. The system filters for potential legally discriminatory protected class information from the Reviewer residing in social network accounts and returns relevant information in an efficient, automated and permission based manner.

Abstract: Methods, articles of manufacture and systems for managing execution of workflows. One embodiment provides a computer-implemented method for managing execution of a data driven multi-step workflow. The method includes receiving input data for a step of the workflow and performing the step of the workflow on the input data to obtain a result set. Then, at least one rule is applied to the result set for determining whether one or more associated conditions are satisfied. The at least one rule defines the one or more associated conditions and an associated process. If the one or more associated conditions are satisfied, the associated process is performed on the result set.

  • Patent number: 8639654
Abstract: A method for updating speed limit, service stop location, or other attributes for road segments in a digital map (18) by extrapolating probe data from a subset of probe data which has been profiled to have originated from trustworthy probe traces. Probe measurements from a plurality of probes is collected and profiled against known information. From this, a subset of trustworthy probes is identified, comprising those probe traces which observe the known attribute of interest within an acceptable range for a majority of the driving time. These trustworthy probe traces are tracked during travel on other road segments whose attribute data is unknown or unreliable. A specification for the unknown or unreliable attribute on the other road segments can be extrapolated based on the collected information from all of the trustworthy probe traces as they travel that road segment. The digital map (18) can then be updated by setting attribute information in relation to the extrapolated behavior data.
