Abstract: A process for production of a granular urea product in a fluidized-bed where: small droplets (10) of fresh urea melt are contacted with a cooling medium to form solid particles, said solid particles (11) are contacted with droplets of urea melt (12) which are larger than said germ particles, the solid particles and said droplets forming together larger solid particles (13), and said solid particles further increasing their size step by step and upon contact with droplets of urea melt, until the solid particles reaches a given size, and said solid particles are then subject to a further growing process by contact with liquid droplets now smaller than the solid particles, until a desired size of the granular product is reached.

  • Patent number: 10106470
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for incorporating micronutrients in an outer shell of urea-based particles, characterized in that it comprises the steps of a) applying a liquid concentrated mineral acid with a water content of at most 25 weight % to urea-based particles having a water content of at most 2 weight %, in order to at least form a double salt layer at the outer surface of the urea-based particles such that an acidified particle grasping layer is obtained, and subsequently b) applying a solid mineral base in powder form to the urea-based particles of step a) in order to react with the grasping layer of the urea-based particles; wherein the mineral acid or the solid mineral base are the source of any one of the micronutrients and wherein the liquid concentrated mineral acid and the solid mineral base in powder form are applied in a non-equimolar ratio between 0.1 and 1 mol/mol mineral acid/mineral base.

  • Patent number: 10029954
Abstract: A liquid fertilizer adjuvant composition is provided that includes a fertilizer, a pH buffering agent, a surfactant, and one or more color indicator that produce a first color change that indicates when an pre-selected first level of field treatment has been achieved. The composition is provided as a single solution. A second color change occurs when a pre-selected second, higher level of field treatment is required. The color change indicative of a pre-selected pH, water hardness, or a combination of both. The composition is particular well suited for inclusion of a urea fertilizer.
