Controlling The Executing Of Arithmetic Operations (epo) Patents (Class 712/E9.017)
  • Patent number: 11896810
Abstract: Drug delivery systems and methods of use thereof for recording administration of a drug dose to a subject are provided. Aspects of the invention include a syringe stopper rod comprising a sensor component that is configured to detect a delivery signature, and to transmit a report comprising a drug dose completion signal to a data management component, e.g., a mobile computing device.

  • Patent number: 11782709
Abstract: Embodiments of systems, apparatuses, and methods for fused multiple add. In some embodiments, a decoder decodes a single instruction having an opcode, a destination field representing a destination operand, and fields for a first, second, and third packed data source operand, wherein packed data elements of the first and second packed data source operand are of a first, different size than a second size of packed data elements of the third packed data operand.

  • Patent number: 11275588
Abstract: Embodiments of an apparatus comprising a decoder to decode an instruction having fields for an opcode and a destination operand and execution circuitry to execute the decoded instruction to perform a save of processor state components to an area located at a destination memory address specified by the destination operand, wherein a size of the area is defined by at least one indication of an execution of an instruction operating on a specified group of processor states are described.

  • Patent number: 9292298
Abstract: A data processing apparatus has permutation circuitry for performing a permutation operation for changing a data element size or data element positioning of at least one source operand to generate first and second SIMD operands, and SIMD processing circuitry for performing a SIMD operation on the first and second SIMD operands. In response to a first SIMD instruction requiring a permutation operation, the instruction decoder controls the permutation circuitry to perform the permutation operation to generate the first and second SIMD operands and then controls the SIMD processing circuitry to perform the SIMD operation using these operands. In response to a second SIMD instruction not requiring a permutation operation, the instruction decoder controls the SIMD processing circuitry to perform the SIMD operation using the first and second SIMD operands identified by the instruction, without passing them via the permutation circuitry.

  • Patent number: 9043581
Abstract: A processing apparatus includes an execution unit which performs computation on two operand inputs each being selectable between read data from a register and an immediate value. The processing apparatus also includes another execution unit which performs computation on two operand inputs, one of which is selectable between read data from a register and an immediate value, and the other of which is an immediate value. A control unit determines, based on a received instruction specifying a computation on two operands, whether each of the two operands specifies read data from a register or an immediate value. Depending on the determination result, the control unit causes one of the execution units to execute the computation specified by the received instruction.

  • Patent number: 9015452
Abstract: A digital signal processor (DSP) includes an instruction fetch unit, an instruction decode unit, a register set and a plurality of work units in communication with the instruction decode unit. A first embodiment calculates two divisions on packed numerators and packed denominators. The DSP work units calculate indexes into a 1/d look-up table and make a final sign correction. A second embodiment calculates an approximation of a vector magnitude of a complex number x+jy. The approximation is based upon ?(x2+y2)??*max(|x|, |y|)+?*min(|x|, |y|). The DSP work units calculate the absolute values, find the maxima and minima, and form the packed results of two vector magnitude calculations.

  • Patent number: 7739480
Abstract: A method and apparatus for obtaining a scalar value from a vector register for use in a mixed vector and scalar instruction, including providing a vector in a vector register file, and embedding a location identifier of the scalar value within the vector in the bits defining the mixed vector and scalar instruction. The scalar value can be used directly from the vector register without the need to load the scalar to a scalar register prior to executing the instruction. The scalar location identifier may be embedded in the secondary op code of the instruction, or the instruction may have dedicated bits for providing the location of the scalar within the vector.
