Abstract: In a method for generating an audio summary of a portion of an electronic document, a user input selecting a focus position within a rendered electronic document is received. The plurality of document elements included in the rendered electronic document is identified. A plurality of audio objects corresponding to the plurality of document elements is generated. An audio signal is generated. The audio signal includes a subset of the plurality of audio objects corresponding to a subset of the plurality of document elements contained within a predetermined range from the focus position. The audio signal indicates the spatial relation between the elements of the elements subset. The audio signal is rendered to the user.

The computer usable program code can be further configured to determine a forum theme for an electronic forum in which the video will be accessible. The computer usable program code can be further configured to choose, from the first group of thumbnail images, a matching thumbnail image that is thematically consistent with the forum theme. Abstract: An exemplary embodiment involves receiving, by a processor, a selection of a contact from a requestor. The exemplary embodiment further involves identifying, by the processor, multiple services to which the contact subscribes and to which the requestor subscribes. Subscribing to each service comprises creating a profile comprising authentication information and associating with the profile one or more content items provided by the service. Identifying the multiple services comprises identifying, for each service that a first profile of the contact is associated with a second profile of the requestor. The exemplary embodiment further involves communicating, by the processor, with the multiple services to identify content to identify content that is provided by one or more of the multiples services and that is associated with the contact. The exemplary embodiment further involves generating, by the processor, a preview indicating the content associated with the contact.

Abstract: There is provided a layout print system including a storage storing electronic data sets having unique document IDs, and a printing image generating apparatus generating printing image data based on the stored electronic data sets. The printing image generating apparatus includes an acquisition section acquiring the electronic data sets, an identification section identifying a document form type for the electronic data sets, a weight value determination section determining weight values for the electronic data sets, and a printing image generating section generating a printing image data by arranging the electronic data sets on a layout template based on the weight values and attaching identification information to the electronic data sets. The layout print system further includes a printer printing the printing image data, and a display apparatus including an information identification reader reading the identification information on a printing medium and displaying a desired one of the electronic data sets.

Abstract: A method of facilitating access to services of an IP Multimedia Subsystem, by users groups that require alternative handling in relation to the standard handling of IP Multimedia Subsystem users. Functioning instructions are added to the user group s subscription maintained in the IP Multimedia Subsystem, instructing nodes in the IP Multimedia Subsystem to adapt their standard functioning for this specific group of users. The instructions in a subscription of a specific user group, provide a node of the IP Multimedia Subsystem that does no longer need to be specific for certain types of users, but has a standard way of operation, that is modified by instructions for dedicated operation for only that specific user group. In further aspect embodiments are disclosed providing improved solutions for known problems of IP Multimedia Subsystems making use of functioning instructions included in the subscription.

Abstract: A method, medium and implementing processing system are provided for book marking a combination of frame URLs within a frameset and allowing the sharing on multiple PCs the saved form data that may have been filled in. The system uses an image as a hotspot, containing a complex target destination in the form of an XML structure with multiple URLs for multiple frames as well as captured form data. This system combines file types such as XML and JPG, e.g. as in sample file name ‘MyCapturedFramesAndFormData.XML.JPG’ or ‘MyCapturedFramesAndFormData.XML.GIF’. This combination provides a surprising effect compared to the prior systems, namely, launching the image in an enhanced web browser or in a web browser containing a new plug-in, displays the frame just as it was when saved, including frame set and data input to displayed forms.

Abstract: Systems and methods provide a mechanism to create and traverse inter-document links involving embedded documents. One aspect of the systems and methods includes creating and traversing inter-document links to and from documents that are embedded in a host document. A further aspect of the systems and methods includes creating and traversing inter-document links to an from documents that may be embedded at more than one level in an embedded document hierarchy. A still further aspect of the systems and methods includes creating and traversing inter-document links from a first document to an embedded document in a second document.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a system for incorporating all or part of a database and/or data sources and data management interface into a transferable file that is in the form of a platform-independent, intelligent document and provides a user in real-time with a platform-independent file having data and a data management interface. The intelligent cross-platform document is generated by synthesizing information from diverse data sources, such as, but without limitation, database, architecture files, icons, images, reference data files, web links. The generation of the file encapsulated with data and an information management interface may be conducted in real-time and allows for all or part of an information management system to be transferred in a cross-platform file to a user that is not directly connected to the information management system.

Abstract: Modular content framework and document format methods and systems are described. The described framework and format define a set of building blocks for composing, packaging, distributing, and rendering document-centered content. These building blocks define a platform-independent framework for document formats that enable software and hardware systems to generate, exchange, and display documents reliably and consistently. The framework and format have been designed in a flexible and extensible fashion. In addition to this general framework and format, a particular format, known as the reach package format, is defined using the general framework. The reach package format is a format for storing paginated documents. The contents of a reach package can be displayed or printed with full fidelity among devices and applications in a wide range of environments and across a wide range of scenarios.

Abstract: A method and system of approximate document generation, in one aspect, analyzes a document generation template, identifies one or more elements in the document generation template that have processing time that is longer than a threshold value and modifies said one or more elements identified as having processing time that is longer than a threshold value. One or more elements are modified so that the elements can terminate before completion of processing and produce at least a partial result and/or brief summary from processing of said one or more elements.

Abstract: A size of a region to be allocated to an image layout date is bigger than a size of a region to be allocated to a date other than the image layout date (image-not-layout date). An image to be allocated to the image layout date is enlarged so that a size of the image matches a size of an allocation region allocated to the image layout date, and the enlarged images is laid. Characters indicating the dates are arranged to regions allocated to previous dates, the image layout date, and following dates. Accordingly, a calendar with an attractive appearance can be generated by altering the layout of the dates and information to be output, even if a user has taken photographs on not so many days in the unit such as a month or a week.

After that, in the case where a length in the horizontal direction of each of circumscribed rectangles of two or more objects included in the object group G is equal to a length in the vertical direction or more and a length in the horizontal direction of at least one of the two or more objects is smaller than a threshold value, a block reforming process is executed. In the block reforming process, among the objects in the object group G, the objects in which the distance in the horizontal direction is equal to the threshold value or less are grouped as one object group GC.

Abstract: A method implemented in a print shop management system for exporting print jobs from the print shop management program. The exporting method allows selection of an export job ticket format at the time of export. The export job ticket format may be a press device format suitable for consumption by a digital printing device, or an original input format that preserves the format of the original job ticket imported from an external program. For the press device format, an output job ticket in the requested format is generated from scratch based on job parameters stored in a job ticket database. For the original input format, a copy of the original job ticket is read from an input job ticket and exported; optionally, job parameters generated by the print shop management program may be incorporated into the copy of the input job ticket before exporting.

One embodiment comprises generating a graphical statistical representation of a data set and displaying the graphical statistical representation on an electronic display. One or more manipulable graphical elements are also displayed in conjunction with the graphical statistical representation, wherein the manipulable graphical elements represent one or more statistical ranges for the graphical statistical representation. Based on user adjusting one or more of the manipulable graphical elements specifying one or more adjusted statistical ranges, the data set is filtered to correspond to the graphical statistical representation within the one or more adjusted statistical ranges.

Abstract: In accordance with one embodiment, the present invention provides the ability to embed and edit rich content into a browser document. Embedded objects are not backed by installed desktop applications. Instead, in one embodiment, the embedded objects are Asynchronous Javascript and XML (AJAX) components that adhere to a set of design patterns, which are embedded within editable HTML documents. For example, a user composing an email message can embed a spreadsheet into the email in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention. The spreadsheet is implemented, in one embodiment, as an AJAX component adhering to the Ajax Linking and Embedding (ALE) design pattern. Since it is an ALE component, the embedded object is fetched across the network so that it may be instantiated and used regardless of the user's location. The user can edit, manipulate, and save the embedded object while remaining in the context of the container document.

Abstract: In a loan option system having a loan server accessible through a network to an external borrower computer and a loan processor for providing loan parameters to the loan server, systems and methods are provided for determining and adjusting a loan balance, via (1) receiving a principal value for a loan through the network from the borrower computer, the principal value corresponding to the loan balance, wherein the loan has an interest rate and a loan term corresponding to a specified number of payments throughout the loan, (2) upon a permissible omitted payment, increasing the interest rate, determining accrued interest, setting predetermined fees due to the missed payment, and applying the predetermined fees and accrued interest to the loan balance to produce a new balance, (3) retrieving the new balance from the loan processor to the loan server, and (4) providing the new balance to the borrower computer.

Abstract: Portions of document contents are separated into individually controlled sections on a user interface of a smaller size client device display. A document viewed on a mobile device may include different content portions such as textual content, tables, slides and graphics. Due to a smaller user interface of the mobile device, some portions of the content may extend outside of the user interface and may not all be visible at the same time. The user may use gestures to scroll through and resize the document to view all of the contents. The system may separate each of the different content portions into individual sections and enable the user to control each section separately, such that the user may navigate, resize, and reposition each individual section without affecting the size and position of the remaining sections of the document for optimally viewing the document on the user interface.

Abstract: Calendar repair using a standard message may be provided. Calendar events, such as appointments and meetings, may be created and copied to a plurality of attendee calendars. A first copy of the event may be compared to a second copy of the event to determine whether properties between the events are out-of-sync. If so, a standard meeting request message comprising the correct value may be sent to update the out-of-sync property.

Abstract: A request to access a web page may be received from a user device. The web page includes a dynamic information portion and a static information portion. A filename is assigned to a static file that is associated with the static information portion of the web page. The filename may be formed at least in part from a timestamp associated with the static file. In response to the request, a dynamic file that is associated with the dynamic information portion of the web page may be sent to the user device. The dynamic file references the static file using the filename, and the timestamp included in the filename enables the user device to determine whether the static information portion of the web page is accessible at the user device.

Abstract: A system, method and computer program product for interactive computing of equations in context includes parsing a user's notes, on an electronic computing device, for a delimited contextual mathematic equation relating a string variable of any number of blank spaces and characters to at least one other variable, a constant or a unit of measurement. Also assigning a numerical value to a variable, the numerical value determined by one of a computing, a user input and a context for the variable is included. Additionally, computing a numerically unassigned variable via the equation relating the variable(s), any constant(s) and any unit(s) of measurement is included. Declaring in the user's notes, on the electronic computing device, any computed and numerically unassigned variable(s) in context with the equation and any related variable(s) is further included. An interactive note computation may either be explicitly or implicitly initiated via a button or a contextual expression.

Abstract: An email client and file manager provides combined file management and communications management in a single interface. An interface allows documents, email messages, contact information, web links or pages, and user-attached notes to be stored in the same folders. This facilitates communication by email and fax. The interface permits the user to combine this data in folders which the user categorizes according to a folder tree created by the user. In one embodiment of the invention, the client, in its email function, communicates with a dedicated host which in turn communicates with external servers according to standard internet protocol.

The chart is managed by communicating data corresponding to the chart to a separate application and providing functionality for editing the data in the separate application. The presentation of the data in the separate application is distinct from the presentation of the chart in the host application. Changes to the data are communicated the host application when the data is edited in the separate application. The communicated changes to the data are reflected in the presentation of the chart in the host application.

The summary column and/or row can provide various summations of the patient's data records for any time period depending on where the moveable summation column and/or row is placed. The summation of the various patient data depends on a selected type of patient data. The summary column and/or row can be moved by the user to any spot in the patient data portion of the medical flow sheet to sum up different intervals of data. The moveable summation column and/or row presents summary data for patient parameters depending on the placement of the summation column and/or row.

Abstract: An electronic pasting method for pasting electronic data in consideration of printed and written data, including updating pasted data when electronic data is updated after it is pasted. The electronic pasting method uses a detecting unit and a paste information updating unit. The detecting unit detects a paste stroke made over two print sheets filled to denote a user's pasting action with which part or whole of a printed matter of electronic document information is pasted on printed matter, then detects the pasting action from a set of paste strokes, thereby obtaining a paste-from document, a paste-to document, and a paste position according to the pasting action detected by the detecting unit. The paste information updating unit updates the e-document, the printed matter information, and the written information according to the above paste information.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses that automatically detect availability of a reader mode for article content in a web page addressed by a URL are described. Availability detection may be progressively performed such that cheap operations are performed first to reduce the need to perform more expensive ones. A retrieval status of the web page may be detected to determine when enough content has been retrieved to initiate a detection of the reader mode for the web page. A reader indicator may be presented in a user interface of a browser if the availability of the reader mode is detected. A user of the browser may be noted with an alternative presentation of the article content from the web page in addition to a presentation of the whole web page by the browser. If the reader mode of the web page is not available, no reader indicator may be present in the browser.

Abstract: The invention enables creating a mark-able document for a user to mark, and recognizing and processing the user-marked mark-able document to generate an accurate user-readable result that has broad application. The application program used to create, process, and generate a printed output based on the processing includes an array of functionality to create a wide variety of mark-able documents.

Abstract: Document data to be edited includes reference information to external document data corresponding to a component document constituting the document data. When the component document is selected and when an instruction is given for the reflection thereof in the external document, a chapter to be updated is identified first, and reference information corresponding to that chapter is identified. Then, the external document identified by the reference information is overwritten and updated with the selected component document.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide an image organizing and editing application for designing a journal. In some embodiments, the application allows a user to select media content and creates the journal by populating it with the selected content. The application allows the user to build a story around the journal's content by adding different info items, such as a map, calendar, and weather info. When an info item is added, the application may analyze one or more pieces of content in the journal to dynamically present information.

Abstract: A method and system for comparing compound documents. An original compound document and a modified compound document are analyzed to determine and mark the location of embedded objects. A comparison is performed between an original primary document and the modified primary document, ignoring the embedded objects, the output of which is a comparison output document. The embedded objects are compared by copying the contents of the embedded objects to compatible documents, comparing the embedded object from the original compound document and the embedded object from the modified compound document, the output of which is inserted into the comparison output document using the location markers of the embedded objects.

Abstract: An input of a layout of one or more components in a container component is received and a new cross platform layout of the one or more components in the container component is generated. The cross platform layout includes at least one automatically sized autopad and/or container autopad that defines spacing to properly position the one or more components within the container component. The size of the autopad and/or container autopad is determined upon execution of the cross platform layout on a software platform using a visual guideline for that software platform. In some embodiments, some or all of the components are automatically positioned in the cross platform layout such that a contents of each of the components, such as text, is laid out within the container component along the same baseline.

Abstract: Architecture that enables the capability to call user-defined functions (UDFs) within the hosting page, and from within a spreadsheet. UDFs can be used to add functionality to spreadsheet models. Spreadsheet calculations are spread across a backend calculation server and the web browser. Spreadsheet calculation state is maintained as browser functions are calculated. Moreover, the browser UDFs can be executed synchronously or asynchronously. The architecture also provides capability to dynamically register/unregister UDFs at runtime, which can then be called from the spreadsheet model and executed remotely), and the capability to define a manifest that can include all of the UDF definitions, infinite calculation loop situations are also prevented. The UDFs have full access to the page DOM (document object model).

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide data file interoperability between two drawing programs using a single composite drawing file. A method of generating a drawing file shared by a source application and a target application includes storing a copy of a computer aided design (CAD) drawing in a composite drawing file, where the CAD drawing is stored according to a drawing format used by the source application. The method also includes generating a visual representation of the CAD drawing, where the visual representation is formatted according to a drawing format used by the target application. The method also includes storing the visual representation in the composite drawing file, where a display of the visual representation generated by the target application is substantially similar to a display of the CAD drawing generated by the source application.

Abstract: Various embodiments of systems and methods for converting reports between disparate report formats are described herein. In one aspect, a first report in a markup data schema is received. On another aspect, a second report in a banded report schema, comprising one or more bands, is created. The second report is created as a blank report. First report formatting settings of the first report are converted to second report formatting setting of the second report. Report content and report content layout from the first report are converted to the second report.

Abstract: A chart is copied from a first application and pasted to a second application. A determination is made for which copy and paste option is selected for the chart. The chart is communicated to the second application using a clipboard application when the copy and paste operation corresponds to providing a link for the chart that is arranged communicating updated data of the chart. The chart is also communicated to the second application using a clipboard application when the copy and paste operation corresponds to representing the chart as a picture of assembled shapes. The chart is communicated to the second application using a separate data transfer interface when the copy and paste operation corresponds to embedding the chart in the second application. Furthermore, the formatting of the chart may be selected according to source formatting or destination formatting depending on the type of copy and paste operation selected.
