Abstract: A method for building client agnostic, discoverable service oriented workflow forms for collecting spatial data input composed of spatial features and metadata is described that permits a workflow engine to export a user-defined spatial workflow represented as a service and described as XML. This workflow is composed of numerous spatial and non-spatial workflow activities chained together and includes forms for collecting user input. These forms are described using XML and can be rendered on clients irrespective of their user interface technology.

Abstract: A system and method for document management for processing forms on a personal computer while isolated from a network. The forms may be Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) forms stored on a personal computer isolated from a network. The forms have data fields for data submission. Data is input into a selected form and a submit command is executed to submit the entered data. Execution of the submit command stores the data to a file on the personal computer. Once the personal computer is connected to the network, the stored data is sent to a central computer connected to the network.

Abstract: In one aspect, an interactive form container is generated for creation of an interactive form based on a UI of an application. The interactive form container establishes communication with the UI of the application. A data is received indicative of interactions with the UI of the application to execute a task associated with the application. Based on the interactions, a script records the interactions with the UI. In another aspect, copied UI objects from the UI of the application are added to the interactive form container to create the UI of the interactive form. The UI of the interactive form in association with the recorded script are stored to create the interactive form.

Abstract: An image processing apparatus which performs variable printing in accordance with print data containing a fixed object and a variable object determines whether the fixed object overlaps another fixed object. When the image processing apparatus determines that the fixed object overlaps the other fixed object, the image processing apparatus generates data by performing the first image forming processing to combine the fixed object and the other fixed object or the second image forming processing to process the fixed object or the other fixed object. The image processing apparatus stores the generated data. The image processing apparatus extracts the stored data, combines it with the variable object to generate print data, and outputs the print data.

Abstract: A computerized system, method, computer program product, client processing system and/or server processing system for generating electronic forms are disclosed. In particular, the computerized system is configured to obtain selection data indicative of a selected form template including one or more component templates; present a form composition environment including a plurality of components available for composing a form, wherein the plurality of components available includes at least one templated component being a modification of a base component defined by one of the component templates; generate form composition data indicative of a user composing, within the form composition environment, a form composition using at least one of the templated components; and generate the electronic form based upon the form composition data.

Abstract: A method is provided that includes receiving a request at a server from a client device to configure a form associated with a workflow step. The form is of a form type that supports a set of features. The method also includes identifying a form tool of a plurality of form tools that is compatible with the form type. In addition, the method includes generating form feature discovery instructions via a form integration framework application programming interface (API). The form integration framework API utilizes a common set of instructions adapted to direct the plurality of form tools. Further, the method includes providing a set of user interfaces via the form integration framework to the client device based at least in part on form feature data provided via the form tool. The set of user interfaces is adapted to configure the form to generate a configured form.

Abstract: A method for storing, organizing and providing remote electronic access to documents. A cover sheet including a standard set of identification data characterizing each document is developed and stored. A digital version of each document is created and stored by scanning each contract. Each digital version includes a scanned image and a searchable text file, wherein the text is overlaid with the image. An index of bookmarks identifying sections of the digital version of each document is generated. Selected fields of information are captured from the digital version of the document. The documents are organized and cross-referenced in a database that includes the captured information and additional information related to each document. Designated parties are alerted of critical dates associated with each document. Remote electronic access to the documents is provided over the internet.

Abstract: An information processing apparatus generates print data interpretable by a printing apparatus and transmits the generated print data to the printing apparatus. The information processing apparatus includes a setting unit configured to set information identifying a positional relationship between a tab portion of a first tab sheet and a tab portion of a second tab sheet in a state where the first and second tab sheets are stacked, if usage of the tab sheets is designated, wherein the tab sheet is a tab-attached printing paper to be inserted between printing papers based on print data of document information. The information processing apparatus includes a determination unit configured to determine a print start position of a character string to be printed on the tab portion of the first tab sheet and the tab portion of the second tab sheet according to the information identifying the positional relationship set by the setting unit.

Abstract: A system for legal document authoring for a legal action and electronic court filing of such legal documents provides an online network for subscribers. The system provides a direct mechanism (and a web portal mechanism) for submitting a claim file containing party and claim information necessary for automatic legal document generation based on an auto-selected destination court (in some embodiments) and further based on at least certain party and claim information. The automatically-generated legal documents are compliant with the requirements of the destination court, providing end-to-end automation for improved efficiency in judicial debt collection. The system also provides an online network for facilitating communications between subscribers (litigants) and the court systems.

Abstract: A method includes defining preflight parameters for preflight rules using relationship information. A preflight rule may be associated with an attribute table which may include information about associated preflight parameters. The preflight parameters may be defined via an interface that enables a user to specify data type and parameter relationship information.

Abstract: Computer programs and computer-implemented methods implement techniques for generating input fields (including form fields, sketch fields, text fields, and the like) in electronic documents. These include representing an electronic document to a user, receiving user input specifying a location in the electronic document, identifying one or more graphical elements in the electronic document, and generating an input field in the electronic document at the specified location based at least in part on the identified graphical elements. The techniques can also include receiving user input entering information into the generated input field and storing the generated input field.

Abstract: A metamodel-based system for automatically generating reports is provided. Much of the work involved in creating report designs and reports is automated, allowing developers to produce a broad variety of report designs and reports in a fraction of the time required with standard report development, according to one illustrative embodiment. Metamodels for data and style templates may be created, that allow for the automated design and manipulation of report models. The report models may be used to generate reports that include the indicated data, arranged according to indicated data field properties, settings, and style templates. Changes made in the metamodels can automatically be reflected in reports designed according to those metamodels.

Abstract: A computer displays a screen that includes a uniform resource locator (URL). In response to a selection of a uniform resource locator (URL) by an end-user at a computer, the computer intercepts a request within the computer to prevent the request from being sent to another computer. The computer determines whether the URL includes one or more parameters that define a field with a missing value, and that need entry of one or more input values from the end-user. The computer generates an electronic form utilizing the one or more parameters to formulate a field, within the electronic form, for each of the one or more parameters. The computer displays the electronic form including the field for each of the one or more parameters, which enables the end-user to enter information into the field within the electronic form.

Abstract: A method of and apparatus for storage and retrieval of résumé images in a manner which preserves the appearance, organization, and information content of the original document. In addition, summaries or “outlines” of résumé images, broken down into multiple fields, are stored, and can be searched field by field. A user interface is provided which is based on a familiar paper-based method already in common use, thus reducing the training required to effectively use the system.

Abstract: Techniques to generate custom electronic forms are described. An apparatus may comprise a logic device and an application having a form manager component. The form manager component may be operative on the logic device to manage one or more forms for a user interface of the application during a run-time mode of the application. The form manager component may have a custom prompt module operative to determine whether an application context interface is available for a dynamic form prompt of a form. The form manager component may determine whether a custom language interface is available for the dynamic form prompt when the application context interface is available. The form manager component may retrieve custom content in a custom presentation language for the dynamic form prompt when the custom language interface is available. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Abstract: An initialized graphical user interface program can produce a plurality of parameter input fields in a graphical user interface. The plurality of parameter input fields can be logically grouped with similar parameter input fields in close approximation to each other in the graphical user interface. The graphical user interface program can then receive a plurality of parameter data from a user can input into the parameter input fields of the graphical user interface program. Based on the received user input parameter data, the graphical user interface program can deactivate one or more parameter input fields. The graphical user interface program can error-check the received input data and provide warnings for any incorrect data. Finally, the graphical user interface program can generate a fort.15 input file based on the parameter input data.

Abstract: The system and method as described herein can be advantageously used in a plurality of scenarios, two of which include field markup and data collection and collaborative review. The system and method handles the allocation of digital paper pattern background and the creation of required page definition files embedded into digital paper enabled PDFs. Optionally, action palettes can be automatically overlaid on the drawings as legend boxes to enable field personnel to select the operations they want to perform on the digital paper as they would on a computer interface. For instance letting users select the types of callouts and clouds to add to their markup. These drawings can be printed or plotted onto paper and sent to a work site for markup.

Abstract: Systems, methods and apparatus are provided for generating electronic transactional documents using a form generating system. The electronic transactional document may be created using a design tool that allows a user to place data entry fields over an image or snap shot of a transactional document. Rules, default values, and attributes associated with the date entry fields may be established as the electronic transactional document is being created.

Abstract: Electronic form systems are provided. In at least certain configurations, an electronic form system includes a form definition that is utilized to generate one or more user interfaces corresponding to a form. The form definition specifies a type for each of the fields within the form. The field types may include discrete and/or abstract fields, and data may be stored locally or synchronized with a remote device. Additionally, the form definition can include any other metadata such as, but not limited to location, rendering, and formatting information. These and various other features and advantages that characterize the claimed embodiments will become apparent upon reading the following detailed description and upon reviewing the associated drawings.

Abstract: A print control apparatus of a printing system, which performs overlay printing using a pre-created form, lets a user designate a field in the form for data to be inserted into the field in the overlay printing. In executing overlay printing of plural pages, the data to be inserted into the designated field is analyzed to determine whether or not one same data is repetitive. In a case where it is determined that the one same data is repetitive, the form is not created, but in a case where it is determined that the one same data is not repetitive, the form including the data is created.

Abstract: An aspect of this invention is a method that includes receiving input data from an application. The input data includes information descriptive of at least one field. The method further includes processing the input data to form an array composed of legal data for the at least one field. The array is formed by merging a result of processing syntactic constraints and a result of processing semantic constraints. The method further includes outputting the array to the application. A system for performing the method is also described, as is a computer program product that can be used to execute the method.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention relate to a form management system that generates a form ID of the form to be created, on the basis of a form data ID, which is generated based on a template ID generated from a form template and form data to be overlaid thereon. In addition, the form management system may be capable of identifying and managing the form template and the form data for the generated form.

Abstract: Embodiments herein include a content manager that constructs vocabulary from the PDF form fields to classify documents. The content manager can associate a PDF form with a markup language schema (such as an XML Schema) so that PDF form fields are semantically bounded with XML schema elements. The XML schema elements can define semantics of form fields and specify other constraints on XML elements and attributes. The content manager then associates selected form fields from the PDF form with a content folder to construct a set of properties to apply to inbound PDF form data to classify documents.

Abstract: Techniques to remotely access form information are described. An apparatus may comprise a logic device and an application having a form manager component operative on the logic device to manage one or more forms for a user interface of the application. The form manager component may be arranged to generate a form with form information retrieved from a web service using a form information query. The form information query may comprise a data structure having static form configuration information, dynamic form configuration information, or a combination of static form configuration information and dynamic form configuration information. Abstract: A system to compare a reference image of a text character, word or phrase with another image of the character, word or phrase that was rendered by a text rendering engine. Differences between the reference image and the rendered image may be recorded for subsequent analysis. Performance of a text rendering engine producing text according to typographical rules applicable to a natural language can be evaluated by one with no knowledge or ability to read the natural language.

Abstract: A system and method of providing dynamic and customizable medical forms is disclosed. In certain specific embodiments, these dynamic and customizable medical forms may be automatically presented to users based on a predefined series of rules which allow multiple users having different roles in the clinical process to collaborate and contribute to a medical examination report, while at the same time maintaining an independent record of what was contributed and by whom it was contributed.

Abstract: A system, computer program and method for automating form transcription. Data and meta data may be retrieved from a selected input form, e.g., W2 form. Data may refer to information, e.g., gross income, contained in a field in the input form. Meta data may refer to information, e.g., identifying fields in the input form, that describes or characterizes the data. The retrieved data and meta data may be correlated and stored in a database. Correlating may refer to identifying particular information in particular fields in the input form. The stored correlated data and meta for a selected input form may be mapped to a selected target form, e.g., 1040 form. Mapping may include mapping the data and meta data associated with particular fields in the input form to corresponding fields in the target form.

Abstract: In a collection technique, a user (such as a taxpayer) provides information (such as income-tax information) by submitting an image of a document, such as an income-tax summary or form. In particular, the user may provide a description of the document. In response, the user is prompted for the information associated with the field in the document. Then, the user provides the image of a region in the document that includes the field. Based on the image, the information is extracted, and the field in the form is populated using the extracted information. The prompting, receiving, extracting and populating operations may be repeated for one or more additional fields in the document.

Abstract: A system and method for creating a template configured to generate reports for reporting medical information. The method allows a user to generate a single template that may be then utilized in order to create a plurality of reports for numerous patients. The template is created by dragging and dropping the desired information onto a blank report. Once the desired format of the template has been set by the user, the user may save the template for future use.

Abstract: A device, system, and method are directed towards facilitating a registration of a user for a network service. In one embodiment, a server receives, from a user at a client device, user information including at least one text block. The server analyzes the text block to determine an authenticity value of the user information. The analysis may be based on the length of a lexicon of the text block, the size of a word such as the longest word in the text block, or the number of clauses in the text block. The analysis may be further based on expected values determined by such values in authentic text blocks of a similar nature. Based on the authenticity value, the system may allow the user to access the network service, disallow access to the network, allow conditional access, queue the registration application for further review, or take other actions.

Furthermore, the systems and methods may include defining a plurality of node steps for the node, each node step corresponding to a displayable screen associated with a subset of the plurality of displayable forms. Moreover, the systems and methods may include establishing a hierarchical tree structure associating the plurality of node steps, branches in the hierarchical tree structure having associated validation rules.

Abstract: An interface for designing a report is provided, with elements of the report being disposed at intersections of report positions and configured to present information derived from data in a database. A formula is associated with one or more selected elements in the report to generate a result for the one or more selected elements. A tuple identifying the report positions of the one or more selected elements is associated and stored with the formula in a formula list associated with the report. The report is configured so that, when the report is generated, it is determined whether identifying report positions corresponding to an identified element in the report correspond with the tuple in the formula list. Upon determining the tuple corresponds with the identifying report positions for the identified element, the formula associated with the tuple is applied to generate the result.

Abstract: Systems and methods for automatically assigning items to printable media are disclosed. A computer readable medium is in communication with a computing device and includes programming instructions for electronically obtaining a first template that includes a plurality of first content items, each including a first content area. For each first content item, first content area properties and first content item properties are identified. A second template including a plurality of second content areas is electronically obtained. For each second content area, second content area properties, second content item properties and content rules are automatically identified. For each first content item, it may be determined whether a first content item corresponds to a second content area based on the rules. The first content item may be automatically assigned to the second content area. A representation of each assigned content item may be printed.

Abstract: Automated form filling for mobile devices that provides reliable and accurate information to the forms, is easy to use, and is scaleable. A server-side approach is utilized, in which online applications for a mobile device are invoked on a server through a server-side proxy/cache. The proxy scans the content that is generated by the application for transmission to the mobile device to find forms that may be embedded in the content. When a form is encountered, fields of the form are filled with stored information based on automatically generated mapping information.

Abstract: A computerized tool, system and method for virtual wrapping of a computer program, the computerized tool comprising: an event agent to identify a computer program running; and a form generator controlled by the event agent to automatically create a virtual wrap in web-page and/or win forms for the computer program, the virtual wrap comprising virtual objects which correspond to objects in the program, wherein the event agent controls the transmission of events from virtual objects in the virtual wrap to corresponding objects in the program and vice versa.

Abstract: Described embodiments provide a system for assembly of structured documents having at least a memory, a processor, and a circuit. The memory stores documents. The processor identifies a template for generating a document. The template defines fields having a specified position and length within the document. The processor stores characters based on data associated with fields to locations of memory associated with the fields. Based partly on the text and length of the field, the processor stores indicators for portions of fields to be removed from the document. An indicator includes one or more specified character values, which may include a first byte value indicative of a start-of-heading character, and a second of byte value indicative of a number of characters to be removed. A circuit accesses the document from the memory and removes portions of fields based on the indicators to generate a portion of an assembled document.

Abstract: A method can be used for creating a document associated with a technology to be implemented and containing at least one of the non-functional requirements required for the technology. The method utilizes a memory and a computer device in communication with the memory, as well as a framework tool that may be stored in the memory. The framework tool includes a plurality of non-functional requirement forms for use in creating a plurality of non-functional requirements. Each of the non-functional requirements is associated with one of the non-functional requirement forms. One or more of the non-functional requirement forms may require user input for completion to create the associated non-functional requirement. The document is created utilizing the computer device, by determining which of the non-functional requirements are required to be created for the technology, creating each required non-functional requirement, and adding each required non-functional requirement to the document.

Abstract: A method and system to facilitate workflow data submission is provided. The system may include a communications module to receive a request to generate an electronic form such that the electronic form is suitable for viewing with a first version of a viewer application and a compatibility module to respond to the request by configuring the electronic form to include a functional feature, the functional feature being available with the first version of the viewer application and being not available with a second version of the viewer application.

Abstract: This invention relates to a host apparatus and an image editing method, which can reflect a user's desired layout design. The host apparatus, which is connected to a printing apparatus capable of placing and printing a plurality of images on a printing medium and transfers image data, lays out the plurality of images in the following way. The direction of a printing medium to be used for printing is specified. Then, the length of the printing medium to be used for printing is specified. Selectable placement orders of the plurality of images are determined, based on the specification, and are displayed on the screen. Finally, a desired placement order is selected from the displayed selectable placement orders.

Abstract: The disclosed system empowers technical and non technical users to author logical business objects, author intelligent business forms, and create automated workflows. The logical business objects include data definitions and methods from existing and new data sources. An object broker interprets the business object definition and brokers data/information and method calls to the data sources. The intelligent business forms are created by an information worker in a rich web-based tooling environment. Each form is intelligent enough to recognize other forms that it might co-exist with on a single page, as well as how to react based on events that occur on these related forms. Abstract: A method of constructing a representation of an object having at least one property includes identifying at least one property group associated with the object which has been chosen to represent the object. At least one property of the object belongs to each property group identified as being associated with the object. The method further includes identifying any other object that the object references within a property of an identified property group. An object representation engine retrieves data corresponding to each of the properties belonging to the at least one property group. The engine then represents the object using the retrieved data.

Abstract: A system for creating and editing mark up language forms and documents in a manner that is user friendly. The system dynamically generates a user interface that is customized to the particular form or document selected by the user. The user then enters information into the plurality of fields in the user interface for the form or document. Once the form or document is completed, the user can save the form or document in a document repository. The user can also transmit the form or document as an electronic filing document. Additionally, the data entry fields of the form or document can automatically expand or contract to accommodate data of varying length. Moreover, the user can create templates that include frequently used data.

Abstract: Aspects of the present invention relate to systems, methods and devices for modifying and managing form documents with an application that receives input from an imaging device user interface and from other sources. Some aspects relate to an input field definition file that obtained or generated at a device that is remote to the imaging device and which comprises display parameters and UI options for prompting a user for field input and as well as instructions for obtaining field data from other sources.
