Abstract: A method of sharing an experience between a tapper and a content provider is provided. In this method, at least two interfaces are provided that are configured to allow the tapper and the content provider to join a content sharing community. A third interface is also provided to allow the tapper to select the content provider from a map where at least one of the tapper and the content provider are unknown to the other prior to the tapper selecting the content provider. Then a solicitation is conveyed from the tapper to the content provider to provide a video feed. The method further provides a control that operates the map at selected historical times.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a video displaying method and apparatus, a device and a computer storage medium, wherein the method comprises: positioning a target video; displaying a video preview of the target video, the video preview being a video segment extracted from the target video. This displaying manner exhibits a stronger capability of expressing the video content. The user can better know whether the video is the desired content. The present disclosure may reduce a probability of the user missing desired video resources and reduce a probability that the user finds that the video content does not meet an expectation after he views the video content, thereby helping the user to conveniently and effectively view the desired video resources.

Abstract: System, method, and computer program product embodiments describe utilizing a page having a flexible layout for accessing content across multiple applications. In an embodiment, a display device displays a first content on a page associated with a set of layouts. The page uses a one-panel layout having one panel that that encompasses the first content. Responsive to detecting a selection of a portion of the first content within the one-panel layout, the display device receives a second content for displaying within the page. Then, the display devices renders the page using a two-panel layout having a first panel that is vertically adjacent to a second panel to display the first and second content alongside each other. The first and second panels respectively display the first and second content.

Abstract: A system and method for managing geotag data associated with content within a geofeed is provided. The content may be tagged with metadata such as geotag data that may specify a location where the content was created. The generated content may be geotagged by one or more geotag sources including a GPS-enabled device, a user input, a content provider, a user profile, or other sources. The system may determine the geotag data for the content that is not already associated with geotag data. The system may determine a confidence level of the geotag data, whether already geotagged or not. The confidence level may be indicative of a likelihood that the geotag data accurately describes a location where the content was actually created.

The user interface has an edge navigation feature designed to facilitate navigation through digital content items, such as electronic books, in response to user input received via the touch-screen display. This navigation may be to an arbitrary point within the content, or to previously defined bookmarks. The user interface provides a representation of a virtual edge of the content object, such as a book or album. Presentation of this virtual edge, overlaid with bookmark indicators, allows the user to spatially visualize the position of content within the book, and select a desired location or bookmark.

Abstract: According to an aspect a method for providing assistive technology during interactive computer use includes monitoring a plurality of interactions of a user with a computer system and collecting data relating to the interactions of the user by an assistive tool executing on a processor. The assistive tool analyzes the collected data to build and store a plurality of patterns of the interactions of the user. A delay is detected in a current activity of the user on the computer system. Data is retrieved relating to one or more prior interactions that the user has carried out. The retrieved data is matched with the stored patterns of the interactions of the user. One or more probable next steps in the current activity of the user are determined based on the matching. The assistive tool suggests at least one of the one or more probable next steps to the user.

Abstract: An “Interactive Word Lattice” provides a user interface for interacting with and selecting user-modifiable paths through a lattice-based representation of alternative suggested text segments in response to a user's text segment input, such as phrases, sentences, paragraphs, entire documents, etc. More specifically, the user input is provided to a trained paraphrase generation model that returns a plurality of alternative text segments having the same or similar meaning as the original user input. An interactive graphical lattice-based representation of the alternative text segments is then presented to the user. One or more words of each alternative text segment represents a “node” of the lattice, while each connection between nodes represents a lattice “edge. Both nodes and edges are user modifiable. Each possible path through the lattice corresponds to a different alternative text segment. Users select a path through the lattice to select an alternative text to the original input.

Abstract: A system, method and computer-readable medium are disclosed that can detect an address, geographic coordinates or business name in text displayed on a device and geocode or reverse geocode, respectively, the address/business name or geographic coordinates to provide geocoded data. The detecting and geocoding/reverse geocoding can be performed automatically. The geocoded data can be displayed in-place with the text in a user interface of the device or be provided to another application.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for creating and posting media is provided. For example, the invention allows a user to quickly create, signal process, encode, and transfer media files to a server for storage, posting, distribution, and retrieval. Thus, media such as audio, video, display, photo, spreadsheet, Web Clips, and HTML pages can be combined into a media file for uploading to a server and accessed from listings posted at web sites. In accordance with embodiments, a user downloads and installs a plug-in at the user's client computer. The user then registers and logs onto the server to perform various tasks. For example, the user can create a combined audio and photo media file at the client computer, in accordance with server based control parameters received from the system server. The plug-in then allows the user to perform digital signal processing and encoding of the media file at the client computer.

Abstract: A quality display is disclosed. Embodiments of the invention provide for the display of an indication of quality of a geographic survey. In some example embodiments, a survey grid corresponding to the geographic boundaries of a dynamically created survey area is displayed, where the displayed survey grid expands based on the geographic movement of survey participants. In additional embodiments, data representing the survey grid, cells of the survey grid, and a plurality of sub-cells into which each cell of the survey grid is divided is stored. In other embodiments, a numerical index corresponding to the quality of the survey in each cell of the survey grid is determined based on positioning information. In still other embodiments, a display attribute associated with each cell of the survey grid is adjusted in accordance with the numerical index.

The comment information is indicative of a discrepancy between the observed geographic feature and the geographic data corresponding to the geographic region. The comment information may be associated with the photograph to generate a report, and the report is transmitted.

Abstract: A computer implemented system automatically launches a video to assist a computer user in navigating through a set of menus on a graphical user interface (GUI) without separately requiring the computer user to select a link to a video file or launch a software program designed to playback the video. The system executes a two-phase process for assisting the computer user in determining a replacement part for an OEM part. In the first phase, the system selectively presents a series of menus to the computer user to allow the computer user to identify the OEM part. A video is automatically played during the first phase of the process to assist the user in completing the first series of menus. After the computer user has completed the first menus, the system launches a second set of menus and begins playing a video to assist the computer user in determining options for the replacement part.

Abstract: Various technologies and techniques are disclosed for providing a table of contents for a document viewer application. A document viewer application is provided that can display a document that has multiple pages of content. Upon receiving a selection from the user to access a table of contents for the document, a table of contents is displayed that contains a representation of at least some of the pages of content in a manner that is overlaid on top of a current position in the document. A navigation feature allows a user to navigate through the table of contents while retaining the current position in the document. A preview size adjustment feature allows the user to adjust a size of the representation of the pages of content for the document.
