  • Patent number: 7836462
Abstract: An optical disk device is capable of reducing a thickness of a loading portion equipped with plural sheets of trays. Trays installed in a main body are energized to put an optical disk between them in the thickness direction. Therefore, a thickness of plural sheets of trays can be reduced by cutting down a clearance between the tray and the optical disk. Also, plural sheets of trays are energized by spring members to be put elastically between them in the thickness direction. Therefore, an excessive pushing force is not applied to the optical disk loaded on the tray. Also, a hollow portion of the tray is formed such that projection portions protruded in excess of a standard thickness dimension of the optical disk do not interfere with the tray. Therefore, even when the projection portions are protruded from an adapter, such adapter can be loaded on the tray.

  • Publication number: 20100180287
Abstract: A disc holder (16) rack and 2 moving disk drives (14). The disk holder (16) holds disks (18) from top via vacuum. The discs (18) get released by air entering the vacuum area, thus pushing the disc (18) down. The other part of the invention is the disc drive (14) that is mounted on a vertical drive mechanism (10, 46). By mounting the disc drive (14) directly on the vertical drive mechanism (10, 46), the intermediate transfer robot is eliminated. The drive mount(46) complies with the standard one in the computer industry, thus upgrading disc drives (14) is simplified.

  • Publication number: 20090083772
Abstract: There is provided a disk apparatus having a clamp structure, which can fix a disk in a stable manner with a simple construction. More specifically, the disk apparatus includes a hub having a disk inserting portion having a cylindrical plane in the outer part of one end and a disk receiving portion having a flat part and being pivotably supported, a head having an inner hole through which the disk inserting portion is fitted, facing toward one face of a disk, levitating and scanning above the disk and reading a signal recorded on the disk or recording a signal on the disk, the disk being held by the disk receiving portion, and a clamp unit holding the disk with the disk receiving portion. In this case, the disk receiving portion has an inclined or declined plane. Thus, the amount and direction of deformation of the disk, which is caused by clamping, are defined, and obtaining a stable amount of head levitation independently of temperature changes can prevent the occurrence of a distortion of the disk.
