Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a disk-loading roller which consistently loads and ejects a disk without a considerable decrease in conveying force, even when the roller is employed in the presence of a very large amount of dust or over a very long period of time. The disk-loading roller is for loading a disk with the roller abutting a peripheral portion of the disk, and the roller has such an outer surface that the outer diameter of the roller varies in an axial direction and is formed from a rubber molded elastic product, wherein the roller has a rough outer surface having a peak count RPc of 2 to 30 per 700 ?m, a maximum valley depth Rv of 35 to 80 ?m, and an arithmetic mean roughness Ra of 2.5 to 5.5 ?m, wherein these values are mean values as determined through measurement of the rough outer surface in a ×400 vision field.

Abstract: In a disk-storing disk device according to the present invention, within a casing having an insertion opening formed on the front face for inserting a disk, a plurality of holders are arranged in piles disproportionately on the X1 side about an insertion center line while a drive unit is rotatably supported on the X2 side from the insertion center line. When any of the holders is selected and a disk is inserted through the insertion opening, the disk is clamped to transfer rollers. A transporting unit is counterclockwise rotated while the disk is transferred with the transfer rollers. By the rotation, the disk is securely conveyed to the holder arranged disproportionately on the X1 side. Thereby, efficiency of arranging respective units in the casing is improved so as to provide a disk-storing disk device with short depth size.

To achieve the object, the feed roller has an overall shape of expanding in diameter, and has floating roller parts movably fitted to a roller shaft in a central part and fixed roller parts pressed in and fixed in its two sides. A rotational force transmitted from a disk carrying motor causes a downward force to work on the feed roller through a roller gear. Even when a pressing force on the disk weakens, the fixed roller parts on the two sides can serve to carry the disk smoothly.
