On Single Driving Member Patents (Class 74/324)
  • Patent number: 9163652
Abstract: A blind attachment that includes a body (36) with—at a first end—a visible surface (38), through which a bore (40) passes that accommodates a rod (42) of which a first end (44) projects relative to the visible surface (38) and of which the other end includes a head (46) that can deform a deformation zone (48) when the rod (42) moves translationally, with the visible surface including holding elements for coupling the body (36) to a tool that is used for driving the rod (42) in rotation, whereby the holding elements include at least one lug (52) that is connected at the visible surface (38) and that projects relative to the latter, characterized in that the at least one lug (52) is connected to the body (36) by a junction zone (54) that can break when the lug undergoes a force that exceeds a given threshold.

  • Patent number: 7210543
Abstract: A reversible post hole digger apparatus powered by a power takeoff shaft includes a transmission providing a reverse gear and a forward gear in a single housing. The apparatus has a power head disposed between a shaft connected to the power takeoff and an output shaft driving an auger. A gear box within the power head contains a main shaft which carries forward and reverse pinion gears at opposite ends and has a central portion with an external spline connector. The pinion gears are activated by a central spline-containing slide. Movement of the slide, carried out by means of a shift lever engaging a fork with a rack and pinion device, provides connection to forward, reverse and neutral positions on the shaft. Upper and lower ring gears drive an output shaft in a selected direction.

  • Patent number: 4324010
Abstract: A drive unit for adjustable beds, such as hospital beds and the like, of the type which have movable head and foot sections, and/or other adjustment functions, comprises a single, unidirectional, rotary motor, and a drive shaft for each adjustable bed function. A pair of drive wheels are rotatably mounted on each of the drive shafts, and are rotated thereon in opposite directions by the motor. A pair of spring clutches are operably associated with each pair of drive wheels, and alternatively engage or connect selected drive wheels with their associated shafts to rotate the shafts, and thereby adjust the position and/or configuration of the bed.
