  • Patent number: 7487691
Abstract: An actuator arrangement for a twin-clutch transmission has a first and a second partial transmission. The first partial transmission contains odd forward gear stages and the second partial transmission contains even forward gear stages. At least one first and one second selector drum have in each case one controllable drive motor and at least one control cam. Each control cam is assigned at least one cam follower. The control cam of at least one selector drum encircles through at least 360°. The associated drive motor is designed to drive said selector drum through at least 360°. The gear stages are distributed on the two selector drums, and arranged on the control cams, in such a way that at least one direct multiple shift can be carried out.

Abstract: A shift range change mechanism changes a shift range of an automatic transmission of a vehicle. A parking change mechanism disables rotation of a drive axle of the vehicle by engaging a park pole supported by a stationary member against a parking gear, which is rotated synchronously with the drive axle of the vehicle, at time of setting the shift range to parking. The parking change mechanism enables the rotation of the drive axle by disengaging the park pole from the parking gear at time of parking release of the shift range. An electric rotatable actuator drives the shift range change mechanism and the parking change mechanism. An SBW ECU controls power supply to an electric motor of the rotatable actuator. The SBW ECU increases an output torque of the electric motor only at the time of the parking release.

The detent assembly includes a detent profile defining a plurality of gear positions, a bore, a detent plunger located at least partially within the bore, a spring member resiliently biasing the detent plunger into engagement with the detent profile, a split bushing located between the detent plunger and the bore, and a spacer located between the spring member and the bushing. The bushing is located between the spacer and an abutment of the detent plunger, and the spring member is located between the spacer and an abutment of the bore. Contact surfaces between the bushing and the abutment and between the bushing and the spacer are each angled so that a force of the spring member automatically expands the bushing to remove any free-play formed between the detent plunger and the bore.

Abstract: A gear changing device (1) has a gear lever (3) to operate a vehicle gear box, and several sensors to detect the movement of the gear lever with respect to the surroundings as a result of a force exerted by a user on the gear lever. The gear-changing device also has two electrical motors (5, 7), which are connected to the gear lever (3) via transmissions (9, 11). The transmission (9, 11) are formed by self-braking worm-worm wheel transmissions. The gear lever (3) can only be shifted if the electrical motors are actuated. The electrical motors shift the gear lever or permit the movement of the gear lever, depending on the sensor signals. The movement speed of the gear lever in this is such that it appears to the user that he has to overcome resistance to be able to shift the gear lever, so that the gear lever exercises a haptic effect.

  • Patent number: 7107869
Abstract: A shift control system rotates an actuator to allow a wall of a detent plate and a roller of a detent spring to contact each other and then detects the position of contact so as to detect the position of the wall of the detent plate. After the wall position is determined, the actuator is driven in the direction opposite to the wall until the actuator reaches a position located before the wall position and distant therefrom by a predetermined amount, in order to cancel flexure or extension of the detent spring that is caused when the detent spring is pushed against the wall of the detent plate. Accordingly, such a situation where the shift position is moved by the recovery force of the detent spring can be avoided.

  • Patent number: 7062986
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are taught for controlling the operation of a power train in a motor vehicle (1), which may include controlling a clutch actuating mechanism (20) so as to open a clutch (3) in a vehicle pull mode. Then, a transmission (4) may be changed from a first gear position to a second gear position via a neutral position by moving a transmission actuator. At or about the same time, the ignition angle of a spark-ignited combustion engine (2) is preferably shifted during the gear change step to cause the combustion engine to generate a negative engine torque. As a result, engine speed is decreased when the transmission is disposed in the neutral position and a desired engine torque can be rapidly realized as soon as the transmission actuator is disposed in the second gear position. Thereafter, the clutch is closed again.

  • Patent number: 7028575
Abstract: Monostable shifting mechanism, in which two shifting channels are provided for the shift lever. “Monostable” means that the shifting element or the shift lever has only one stable position. As a function of the actual “operating condition” of the shifting mechanism, certain other operating conditions can be selected by means of the deflection of the shift lever. For this purpose, the shift lever is deflected manually in either one or the other shifting channel and, after the release, automatically returns into the stable starting position from any possible deflected position.

  • Patent number: 6966237
Abstract: The first gear/reverse gate switch of the present invention includes a detent switch including a contact pin and a contact switch. When a manual transmission is shifted to a gear not in the first gear/reverse gate, the contact pin of the detent switch engages a recessed portion on a detent mechanism such that the contact pin does not engage the contact switch. This indicates that the transmission is not in a gear in the first gear/reverse gate. When the manual transmission is shifted to a gear in the first gear/reverse gate, the interlock moves the detent, pushing the contact pin into engagement with the contact switch. This indicates that the transmission is in a gear in the first gear/reverse gate. The spring forces the detent into a “relaxed position” when not in the first gear or the reverse gate, breaking switch contact.

Abstract: A device for increasing a selection force is integrated into a support arrangement of a shift lever. The device is pivotable around a pivot axis and also around a tilt axis aligned transversely to the pivot axis. The selection force upon pivoting movements of the shift lever around the tilt axis is produced by at least one lever that is movable against a spring and a runoff roller placed in operative connection with the lever (24, 38). • Patent number: 6886426
Abstract: In a shift lever apparatus, a shift position can be changed from a “P” shift position only by turning a shift lever to a right side of a vehicle. Unless a brake is operated, it is possible to maintain a state in which a stopper portion is disposed in a right side of the vehicle in an abutting portion. Therefore, the abutting portion abuts the stopper portion, and the shift lever cannot be turned to the right side of the vehicle. When the brake is operated, a rotary plate is rotated in accordance that the shift lever turns to the right side of the vehicle. Accordingly, the abutting portion does not abut the stopper portion, and the shift lever can be turned to the right side of the vehicle.
