Rocking Link Patents (Class 81/117)
  • Patent number: 9884409
Abstract: A pipe wrench includes a fixed jaw with alternatively located first recesses and first driving faces defined in the inner side thereof. A pivotal member is pivotably connected to the fixed jaw and a resilient member is biased between the fixed jaw and the pivotal member. The pivotal member has alternatively located third recesses and second driving faces. A hexagonal space is defined between the first and second driving faces. The end portion of the pivotal member is inserted into a second recess defined in the inner side of the fixed jaw. The object is clamped in the hexagonal space, and the pivotal member can be pivoted away from the fixed jaw. The pipe wrench is able to quickly clamp and dismounted from the object.

  • Patent number: 9566694
Abstract: A head of an open ended ratchet features outer face plates with voids that delimit a jaw space that is open at one end. Two gripping pieces face toward one another from opposing sides of the jaw space. A working side of each gripping piece features two working faces that lie at an oblique angle to one another to define an inner corner that fits over a respective outer corner of a fastener. The gripping pieces are displaceable along the plates into working positions reaching further into the jaw space. A force member is slidable along the plates to force the gripping pieces into the working position, in which the working faces frictionally engage peripheral faces of the fastener. A handle coupled to the head is pivotally movable in opposing directions to push and release the force member, thereby controlling engagement and release of the gripping pieces with the fastener.

  • Patent number: 7219581
Abstract: An adjustment tool, having a body with a bore extending between a first end and a second end. A shaft is positioned within the bore having a plurality of outward spreading spring fingers coupled to a tool end. A spring biases the shaft towards the second end of the body. A collet coupled to a first end of the body has an inner surface which restricts the spring fingers to a closed position as movement of the shaft towards the second end of the body retracts the spring fingers into the collet. A bubble ring may be coupled to the body. Graduated indicia associated with the bubble ring indicates rotation of the tool for entry of precise rotational adjustments.

  • Patent number: 6092440
Abstract: A self-adjusting ratcheting wrench has an elongated handle terminating at one end in a fixed jaw, a movable jaw pivotally attached to the handle so as to close on the fixed jaw and terminating at one end in a pair of jaw faces forming an obtuse angle and separated from one another by a lateral groove and at the other end in a tail, the pivotal attachment being disposed between the tail and the jaw faces, an actuator arm pivotally attached at one end to the tail and at the other end in a thumb plate and connected therebetween to the handle so that the actuator arm is laterally offset from and longitudinally slidable along the handle, a leaf spring disposed in and pivotally attached to the handle, and a coil spring disposed in the handle so as to urge the leaf spring against a convex camming surface formed on the movable jaw adjacent the tail, whereby torque applied to the handle in a first direction causes the jaws to close on an element contained therebetween so as to apply the torque to the element, torque a

  • Patent number: 4762034
Abstract: This is a constrictor wrench which can compensate for a wrench not being the exact fit to match the nut or object which it is to rotate or hold. The wrench has a first jaw and a second jaw with the face of the first jaw modified so that it has a recess which is substantially arcuate in shape and contour. A swinging jaw is provided which has one edge having a contour matching with the contour of the first jaw. The second edge of the swinging jaw is planar. A pressure arm connects the swinging jaw to the first fixed jaw. Biasing means are provided against the pressure arm to force the swinging jaw along the arcuate face of the top jaw away from the mouth of the wrench.

  • Patent number: 4718315
Abstract: A ratchet-like wrench is provided with a wrench body having a fixed jaw and a two arm jaw pivotally mounted on the wrench body to define a spanner aperture with the fixed jaw. A two armed wrench handle is pivotally connected to the wrench body with one arm of the handle operatively engaging one arm of the pivotable jaw. A rocker element and a coupling element are pivotally connected to each other and to the fixed jaw and the pivotable jaw respectively to form a toggle-link linkage for moving the pivoted jaw into and out of operative position. A return spring is disposed between the coupling element and the pivotal jaw for biasing the pivoted jaw to the open condition and for preloading the coupling element and the rocker element toward a locking position. The coupling element is provided with a projection operatively engaged by the handle so that upon pivotal movement of the handle the rocker element and the coupling element can be moved into and out of alignment.
