Abstract: A vise grip locking tool which contains jaws that are capable of opening with a flick of the user's wrist. The tool comprises a first handle member, a second handle member, a lower jaw, and an upper jaw. The first handle member is pivotally attached to the lower jaw. The first end of the lower jaw is made up of four mutually interconnected sides having a guided slot extending through it. The upper jaw has an elongated shank that may slide along the guided slot of the lower jaw. A stop is present on the bottom of the shank preventing the upper jaw from escaping the guided slot. The second handle member is pivotally mounted to the lower jaw and includes a releasable lock which is made up of a spring-operated detent which engages teeth on the elongated shank.

Abstract: Adjustable pliers having a pair of handles, each handle having ajaw portion, an intermediate portion and a hand-grip portion. The handles intersect each other and are pivotally mounted to each other so that movement of the hand-grip portions in one direction will move the jaw portions in the same direction. A slide extends from one of the intermediate portions and a slot is in the other intermediate portion. The slide extends into the slot and is slidable along the slot. The slide has a jaw portion extending therefrom. A lock assembly is provided on the handle members to lock the two position.

Abstract: A pair of pliers has a driving handle, a fixed handle, a block plate, a U-shaped spring, a first torsion spring, and a second torsion spring. The driving handle couples with the fixed handle pivotally. The first torsion spring and the second torsion spring are connected to the driving handle and the fixed handle. The U-shaped spring is connected to the driving handle and the fixed handle.

Abstract: Approximating apparatus for surgical jaw structure is provided which effects substantially parallel approximation of first and second surgical jaw structure to permit substantially parallel working interaction therebetween. The approximating apparatus includes camming structure for engaging at least one movable jaw of the surgical jaw structure to bias that jaw toward or away from a second jaw structure in a substantially parallel manner. A tissue stop may be provided to more easily guide and protect tissue captured by the jaw structure.

Abstract: A multiple stroke hand tool (2) comprises a ram (18) slidably mounted to a housing frame (44). A compact rotatable ratchet member (30) is connected to the ram (18) and pivotally mounted to the housing frame (44) such that as operating means (90) are moved, a drive pawl (32) engages the ratchet member (30) causing the ratchet member (30) to rotate, which in turn causes the ram (18) to move between an open position and a closed position. An automatic fast take-up member (60) is provided which cooperates with the operating means (90). This type of automatic fast take-up allows minimal operator input, enabling the operator to better perform the other operation required. This fast take-up member (60) also insures that terminals are properly positioned with respect to the ram (18), thereby providing a much more reliable operation of the hand tool (2).
