  • Patent number: 6536311
Abstract: A tool for loosening or tightening vehicle wheels nuts using a multiplying torque. At one end of the main body there is a rotating shaft the other end sits on the ground to create a resistance platform. The rotating shaft has a nut socket on its end, which engages onto one of the wheel nuts. There is a lever arm parallel to the main body, connected perpendicular with a one directional ratchet system to the rotating shaft. The lever arms opposite end connects to a pry bar which rotates on a pin connected to the main body. When this pry bar is moved back and forth in a winching motion it causes the lever arm to go back and forth. This action in combination with the lever arm ratchet system will turn the rotating shaft in one direction creating multiplying torque on the wheel nut.

Abstract: A device for use in combination with a wheel brace for loosening or tightening the wheel nuts of vehicles which provides a significant mechanical advantage without deformation of the brace arm. The device comprises a ground engaging support (10) and a developed lever (11). The ground engaging support has projections (9) for supporting a socket extension (12) horizontally. The developed lever (11) has collars (17, 18) which capture a sliding bar (13) of the socket extension and enable maximum torque to be applied through point “p” when the developed lever is rotated in the direction “x”.

  • Patent number: 6330845
Abstract: A wrench assembly used to restrain an implant while applying a torque to a portion of the implant. The wrench assembly conveniently restrains the implant relative to the torque whether the implant is implanted or not. In the case where the implant is first implanted, the wrench assembly guards against displacing the implant or splitting the bone. The wrench assembly includes a handle and a socket shaft depending from the handle in torque transmitting relation. A socket is coupled to the socket shaft in torque transmitting relation. The socket has an implant engaging portion for engaging the implant in torque transmitting relation. The socket further has a through hole aligned with the portion of the implant. A driving shaft passes through the through hole in the socket and engages the portion of the implant such that with the handle torsionaly fixed, the implant is torsionaly fixed by way of the handle, socket shaft, socket and implant connections.

Abstract: A powered lug wrench with adjustable stabilizing bar that is adjustably positionable to contact the roadbed and provide the necessary resistance to the turning of the powered wrench to undo the lug nuts from the lugs. The wrench includes a lug nut drive assembly and an adjustable stabilizing bar assembly. The adjustable stabilizing bar assembly includes a rigid stabilizing bar, a bar fitting rigidly attached to the rigid housing assembly and a knurled stabilizing bar lock screw. The bar fitting has a bar receiving passageway formed entirely therethrough sized to slidably receive the rigid stabilizing bar and a threaded lock screw aperture formed between a top surface of the bar fitting and the bar receiving passageway. The knurled stabilizing bar lock screw is companionately threaded to screw through the threaded lock screw aperture and into the bar receiving passageway to lock the stabilizing bar at a desired length.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a lug wrench stabilizer for use in safely and conveniently removing and replacing a vehicle wheel normally secured to the vehicle by a plurality of securely tightened lug nuts. The invention provides an "A" frame which is formed by a right and left tubular member and a horizontal support bar connected to and positioned between the right and left tubular members at a predetermined height below the apex. Each of said tubular members comprise a telescoping leg within a housing which is supportably connected to a standing pad and a standing pad swivel means to support the assembled device on uneven terrain. Each of the telescoping legs has a plurality of notches situated across the width of the telescoping legs that can be aligned for receiving a bail.

Abstract: A torque-latch ring plier system includes a ring plier having a pair of opposed arms with opposed semi-circular segments forming an annular receptacle. A connecting link joins the pair of arms at the annular receptacle for pivotable movement. A lever is rotatably mounted to one of the arms at about its midpoint and is rotatable to engage a reaction device on the other arm for urging the arms to pivot about the link and close the opposed segments. A coupler is associated with the lever to enable a torque wrench to be connected such that operation of the torque wrench is effective to operate the pliers and establish a selected torque at the opposed segments.
