Abstract: A screwdriver assembly includes a hollow casing in which a tool body is pivotally received therein and a bit receiving member is rotatably received in the casing. A plurality of dimples defined in an inside of the casing and a boss extends from the tool body so that the boss is engaged with one of the dimples when rotating the tool body. An opening is defined in a periphery of the casing so that the tool body can be pivoted out from the casing via the opening. An access hole is defined through the casing so as to pick a bit in the bit receiving member and engaged with an engaging recess in the tool body.

Abstract: A bit-storing tool handle is provided that includes a surface of the handle defining a channel adapted to retain the bit, and a fulcrum point contained within the channel for rotating the retained bit out of the channel. The bit-storing tool handle may alternatively include a plurality of channels adapted to retain the bits such that the longitudinal axis of the retained bits are co-linear to the longitudinal axis of the handle and a fulcrum point within each of the channels that promotes the manual rotation of each of the bits about a cooperating fulcrum point so that upon such rotation, the bits extend radially from the longitudinal axis of the handle. The channels include an opening dimensioned and configured to allow the finger of a person to insert under a first end of the bit thereby facilitating the removal of the bit from the channel when an excessive amount of force is required to pivot the bit due to cold weather or similar conditions.

  • Patent number: 6305255
Abstract: A modular screwdriver includes an elongated hollow handle, a first sleeve, a second sleeve, and a connecting rod. The first and second sleeves are mounted removably on two ends of the handle. The connecting rod extends through the handle, and can be locked releasably at a first position, where one of the first and second sleeves functions as a wrench, and a second position, where the other one of the first and second sleeves functions as a wrench. Each of the first and second sleeves has a central bore, which is formed therethrough and which has two hexagonal-cross-sectioned end portions of different sizes. All of the end portions of the central bores in the first and second sleeves are different from each other in size. Because either of the ends of each of the first and second sleeves can be mounted removably on the handle, each of the first and second sleeves can be inverted. As such, the screwdriver has four wrench units of different sizes.

  • Patent number: 6298755
Abstract: A dimpler tool comprises a handle member having a side wall, a closed bottom, and an open top defining an interior space. The dimpler tool further includes a lid threadably coupled to the handle member so as to removably cover the open top. A first portion of a shaft is embedded in the closed bottom of the handle member and a second portion of the shaft projects from the bottom and is normal thereto. A dimpler attachment is removably coupled to the second portion of the shaft and includes a tip that tapers to a point. The tip may be inserted into a hole left in a wall as a result of removal of a fastener, the hole being smoothed over by a rotational pressure applied to the dimpler tool by a user. The dimpler attachment is interchangeable with attachments having variously sized tips or with auxiliary attachments having variously configured screwdriver tips.
