  • Patent number: 7946198
Abstract: In accordance with one aspect of the present invention, a combination ratcheting and helical driver is disclosed. In the unlocked position the hand tool coverts downward linear force into rotary motion. In the locked position the hand tool operates as a ratcheting driver. The locking device locks the helical drive shaft of the hand tool in a retracted position such that the helical drive shaft is substantially positioned within the handle body. A locking main body is adjacent to a chuck assembly. The locking main body selectively combines with a shoulder abutment adjacent to the handle assembly to lock the helical drive shaft in the retracted position.

Abstract: The present invention is an embodiment of a machine-enabled compression nut and ferrule removal device. The compression nut puller of the present invention features a shaft attachment for insertion into a mechanized hand drill to enable swift and easy removal of heavily torqued compression nuts. The invention also includes a base support plate with the enhanced compression removal assistance of a metal support housing for the shaft, and a pipe attachment sleeve. This allows for powered rotation of the axle of the shaft while the supports remain stationary, which enables the quick removal of a tightly compressed nut and ferrule, whether it is deformed, corroded, or otherwise damaged.

  • Publication number: 20080314204
Abstract: The screw tightening apparatus includes a motor, an output shaft to which a bit for screw tightening is connected so as to be rotatable integrally with the output shaft and which is axially movable, the output shaft being driven to be rotated by the motor, a spring whose one end contacts a member constituting a main body of the screw tightening apparatus, and a spring receiving member which the other end of the spring contacts and transmits a biasing force of the spring to the output shaft. The screw tightening apparatus further includes a conductive member which contacts the output shaft and the spring receiving member. This configuration enables static electricity generated on the bit to certainly flow into the main body of the apparatus (ground) via the output shaft, the conductive member, the spring receiving member, and the spring.

  • Patent number: 7370559
Abstract: A pneumatically operated screw driver ensuring a complete return of a piston to its top dead center. The screw driver has a compressed air return chamber for returning the piston to its top dead center by applying a compressed air in the return chamber to the piston. The piston includes a main piston and an auxiliary piston. The main piston is first reaches its bottom dead center, and then the auxiliary piston reaches its bottom dead center whereupon screw driving is terminated. Before the auxiliary piston reaches its bottom dead center, and after the main piston moves past a predetermined position, a compressed air is introduced into the return chamber. After the main piston reaches the bottom dead center, application of the compressed air pressure in the return chamber to the auxiliary piston is prevented.

  • Patent number: 6178853
Abstract: An actuating device for an electrical power wrench includes a base member connected to a motor and an output shaft is rotatably connected to the base member. A pin biased by a spring movably extends through the base member. A ball biased by a spring is received in the base member and engaged with a groove defined in an outside of the pin. A movable frame with a weight movably retained between two blocks on the base member and two springs connected between the two ends of the movable frame and the two blocks. An L-shaped actuating member is rotatably connected between the two blocks and pivotably connected to two lugs of the movable frame. When the base member is rotated by the motor, the movable frame radially moves due to the eccentric force to pivot the actuating member. When the force being put on to the pin by the actuating member overcomes the froce of the two springs, the pin extends to impact a plate extending radially outward from the output shaft to output a sudden and large torque.
