  • Patent number: 5192105
Abstract: A manual pole handling tool which comprises an insulating fiberglass rod handle that is attached to a chain load binder by means of a handle sleeve and a swivel component. One end of the sleeve receives the fiberglass handle and the sleeve's opposite end is pivotally connected at one end of the swivel so that the handle can rotate at least 180 degrees in the swivel. A bolt or other pin member connects the swivel's opposite end to the load binder so that the swivel can rotate 360 degrees around the pin member. When the load binder is tightened around the pole, the swivel will permit the rod handle to rotate right, left, up or down so that pulling or pushing forces can be applied to the pole in various directions.

  • Patent number: 5115700
Abstract: A strap wrench made up of a semi-rigid, form retaining, planar strip wrap around. This wrap around is formed into a shape retaining loop, the opening of the loop being readily adjustable. Because of the semi-rigid, form retaining characteristics of the wrap around strip, the loop will retain its shape and size as it is moved about and positioned over an object to be rotated. A simple squeeze of the strip will conform the size of the loop to the outer diameter of the object to be rotated. A flexible pull cord is attached to the fore end of the semi-rigid, form retaining strip and wrapped about the strip prior to or as the strip is placed about the object to be rotated. A simple straight line pull on the flexible cord exerts a force which acts along a line which is tangent to the object to be rotated and which acts at a distance removed from the axis of that object.

  • Patent number: 5065648
Abstract: An oil fiter wrench includes two semi-circular, semi-rigid sections, each of which includes a plurality of shark tooth-shaped projections which engage an oil filter of an internal combustion engine so that the wrench can engage the oil filter in a non-slipping manner without substantially damaging or marring that oil filter. The sections are coupled together by a hinge and by a wing nut engaging aligned threaded bores which are defined in fastener projections on each section. A wrench handle is also included which can be coupled to a further projection on the top section to add leverage to any twisting action which may be required to manipulate an oil filter. The wrench is especially useful in certain engines, particularly, in a Harley-Davidson FXR frame of the 1985 and newer model type.

  • Patent number: 5056383
Abstract: A twist-cap bottle opener having a handle provided with a bottle cap gripping member attached to one end of the handle. The bottle cap gripping member is generally circular shaped spring-like material, one end of which is attached to an end of the handle. The opposite end of the circular shaped spring material remains unattached and thus the diameter of the cap gripping member can be easily varied to accommodate different sizes of bottle caps or jar lids. The inner surface of the cap gripping member, that is the surface that is in contact with the side of the bottle cap, is provided with projections which act to grip the side of the cap. The unattached or free end of the cap gripping member is bent inwardly to further increase the effectiveness of the opening device.

  • Patent number: 4967612
Abstract: A flare nut wrench is configured to minimize the possibility of the flare nut wrench slipping by having the socket of the wrench pivoted to a base portion at a point in spaced relation to a prong extending from the base portion. The prong has a prong face thereon, which engages an external face on the socket to squeeze the socket about the flare nut when one applies torque to the flare nut by applying force to a handle attached to the base. By squeezing the socket wrench about the flare nut, the tendency of the socket to slip and round off the flare nut is counteracted by the force applied to the socket by the prong.
