  • Patent number: 7546787
Abstract: A dynamic spindle adjustment permitting an adjustment movement for the compensation of a wobble of the body held by the work spindle is provided on the spindle bearing of a machine tool. The regulation is designed at least dynamically enough for the regulation to permit a reliable tracking of the rotating work spindle. As a result of this, one or more spindles can be moved relative to a stationary machine in such a manner that the path of a body held on the work spindle represents an ideal rotation about the desired body axis, that is, the axis of symmetry. The compensation motion can be achieved by energizing appropriate actuators of the bearing devices with sinusoidal and cosinusoidal adjustment signals, which are superimposed to produce a circular motion of the affected bearing device. This circular motion compensates for orbital motions of the misaligned body (7) held on the work spindle.

  • Patent number: 7540726
Abstract: By cutting-machining a side face of a scroll wrap with a non-rotational tool, swells in the perimeter direction have a smaller size. Thus, compressed gas is prevented from leaking between relatively slidable side faces of the respective wraps of the stationary scroll and the slewing scroll. This configuration provides a scroll compressor that has a higher accuracy and thus high compression efficiency and low noise are realized.

Abstract: A sensor detects an axial position of a rod controlling a tool-gripping collet in a tool-holding spindle whenever a tool is picked during a working session. The current obtained rod position value is compared with previous rod position value, which has been obtained and stored during the previous tool-picking and, if their deviation is larger than a predetermined threshold, the collet closure is notified as defective. The rod position is obtained as an average of a plurality of closely spaced readings, which are taken after a predetermined delay from the collet closure.

Abstract: A controlled atmosphere cutting method and a cutting tool are provided to prevent wear on the cutting tool when cutting is performed on a material for forming an oxide protective film. According to the invention, in a cutting method of supplying gas in an atmosphere of a machining portion to perform cutting when a work piece is cut, gas containing a high concentration of oxygen is supplied as atmospheric gas to bring the machining portion into an oxidized atmosphere, so that an oxide is formed between the cutting edge of a cutting tool 4 and a workpiece and thus a damage and wear are reduced on the tool. The above-mentioned atmospheric gas is oxygen enriched air in which oxygen in the air is condensed, and the atmospheric gas has an oxygen concentration up to 40%, exceeding an oxygen concentration of the air.
