Abstract: Tube ends such as those of boiler tube banks, are prepared utilizing any of various combinations of processes which include a step of micro-diameter tube film removal from a portion of a tube end, including an area below a beveled segment, or segment to be beveled. The micro-diameter film removal step provides the tube with an exposed, clean metal surface which is conducive to a subsequent welding or bonding operation performed on the tube. Preferably, the process is performed with a tube milling tool having interchangeable milling or cutting heads. A specialized milling head is also disclosed and, in one embodiment, is at least used to perform the micro-diameter tube film removal step. Advantageously, the tube film removal milling head also removes a weld overlay on one or both sides of a tube in one embodiment. The tube film removal milling head includes an attached blade having a planar face configuration which enables tube film removal.
Abstract: A motorized bicycle gear shift device comprising a derailleur and an electric motor, associated directly with the derailleur, for controlling the derailleur and an electric transducer of absolute type, also associated with the derailleur for producing an electric signal indicative of the absolute position of the movable body of the derailleur.
Abstract: A tool for machining workpieces by removing material, the tool can be coupled to a tool holder. A storage chamber provided in the tool and/or in the tool holder accommodates a lubricant and/or coolant. A slide is displaceably introduced into the chamber. An actuator provided with the switching unit and can be coupled to the slide to move the slide to expel lubricant and/or coolant from the chamber.

Abstract: A hydraulic coupling for feeding hydraulic actuators, particularly for distributing pressurized oil to a plurality of hydraulic motors mounted on a rotating structure such as a drum feeder for feeding bars to an automatic multispindle lathe; the motors are angularly distributed around the rotation axis of the structure, and the coupling comprises a plurality of ducts which branch out axially from the structure and are angularly distributed with respect to the rotation axis; the ducts are connected to the delivery and the return of the motors at one end and, at the opposite end, by means of respective flexible hoses, to a stationary distributor for connecting the motors to a source of pressurized oil and to the oil discharge; the flexible hoses are arranged in a spiral around the rotation axis and have a length which allows the rotation of the structure with respect to the distributor through a preset angle; the distributor comprises valves for controlling the flexible hoses which are actuated so as to connect

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for forming a stack of neatly aligned sheets of microfoam plastic material from a web of microfoam material. The method and apparatus provide for supplying the web of material to a cutting station and transporting an edge of the material a predetermined distance beyond the cutting station, restraining motion of the web and captivating it at a location adjacent to the cutting station, and cutting the web in a transverse direction. The web advancement, restraint and captivation, and cutting are repeated until a predetermined number of sheets of the material have been accumulated in a stack. The stack is then released from captivation and is conveyed from the cutting station.
