  • Patent number: 8312798
Abstract: Apparatus for cutting a moving receiver includes a plurality of cutting devices and a transport mechanism for selectively moving the cutting devices perpendicular to the feed direction of the receiver. Each cutting device includes two parallel cutting wheels and a pressure wheel arranged so that the cutting wheels are pressed laterally against the pressure wheel to form two cutting areas and a chad area arranged laterally between the cutting areas. A drive mechanism rotates the cutting wheels or pressure wheel of two or more of the cutting devices so that the rotating cutting wheels engage the moving receiver to cut the moving receiver parallel to its feed direction. A controller receives a job specification including two or more specified cut locations and causes the transport mechanism to laterally position two or more of the cutting devices to cut the moving receiver in the specified cut locations.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a dough feeding system and methods corresponding thereto. In some embodiments, the dough feeding system includes a cutting subsystem, an alignment subsystem, a belt assembly, a conveyor, and/or combinations thereof. The alignment system can be provided with a movable platform for aligning a dough ribbon into the cutting subsystem. The cutting subsystem can be provided with a frame securable to the belt assembly, a drive roller for feeding dough, and a knife blade for cutting the dough. The belt assembly can include a flat-belt, and the conveyor can include a dough folding platform with rough edges. Electronic controller(s) are provided for (i) synchronizing the drive roller with the knife blade, (ii) synchronizing the drive roller with a position of the dough folding platform, and/or (iii) adjusting the movable platform to compensate for drift of the dough ribbon.

  • Patent number: 6651537
Abstract: A cutter for self-adhesive labels has a top part and a bottom part and a feeding gap between the top part and the bottom part. The cutter includes further a cutting mechanism having a blade and coupled to one of the top part and the bottom part. Further, the cutter has a transport and guiding device for the labels, wherein the transport and guiding device includes a transport roll located opposite the cutting mechanism. The feeding gap receives an adhesive paper or label sheet and the transport roll pulls the adhesive paper or label sheet through the feeding gap. The adhesive paper or label sheet passes between the cutting mechanism and the transport roll, and the blade cuts the adhesive paper or label sheet against a curved surface of the transport roll.
