  • Patent number: 5931074
Abstract: A press device which can be produced at a lower price includes a slide cam base, a slide cam guided by the slide cam base for mounting a machining member such as a punch, a biasing member provided between the slide cam base and the slide cam for biasing the slide cam, and an actuating cam for abutting the slide cam to drive the slide cam. When the slide cam base holds the slide cam, a pressing at a high accuracy with little deflection can be performed and the time required for machining the holding portions of the slide cam is short. The slide cam is slidably provided on a circular-section guide post installed on the slide cam base.

Abstract: A rotary cutter for cutting holes of various sizes in ceiling tile in connection with the installation of light fixtures. The cutter includes an enclosure which functions as a jig for receiving and accurately positioning tile members prior to the cutting operation. The lower portion of this enclosure functions as a waste receptacle following the cutting operation. A drive shaft turns a pair of arms bearing two cutter knives for rotation within the structure thus cutting holes in the ceiling tile. The cutting blades are biased upwards for returning to a non-cutting position upon completion of the cutting operation. The cutting knives are radially adjustable along the arm on which they are mounted. A conventional electric drill is mounted to the other end of the drive shaft for imparting rotary motion to the blade arm.

  • Patent number: 5906260
Abstract: A coin telephone instrument is provided with a string cutter positioned to intercept and cut the string of a tethered coin deposited by a fraudulent user. The deposited, tethered coin follows the usual serpentine path of the coin chute, along a coin chute guide. However, a "cusp" in the coin path facilitates the cutting of the string, when it is pulled back by the fraudulent user. Pulling back on the string causes it to leave the serpentine coin chute path and to enter a gap between the coin chute path and the door of the telephone instrument. The tethered coin remains in the coin chute. Once the string has entered the gap between the door of the telephone instrument it encounters the jaws of the string cutter where any further pulling of the string will cause it to be cut by a scissoring action of the jaws.

Abstract: An adjustable angular shearing device (10) in accordance with the invention is adapted to transversely shear sheet material from a continuous strip in a punch press. The device (10) has an upper punch (24) which coacts wtih a lower die (28) to shear sheet material passing between them. The punch (24) comprises a pair of members (32, 34) which coact with a pair of corresponding members (74, 76) on a lower die (28). The members rotate about aligned posts (26, 30) at the vertex of an angle. The rotation of the members about each respective post is selectively adjustable. A chevron-shaped part can be stamped from a continuous strip of sheet material by two successive stamps of the punch press.

Abstract: An adjustable rolling cam slider which has a cam sliding block displacing vertically to link with a horizontal sliding block by two ball joints, and a link with a fixing block to get in touch with and drive the cam sliding block to displace downward, consequently cause the horizontal sliding block to slide horizontally upon lowering of the main shaft of the punching press. Steel balls are used between the sliding block and sliding rail of a sliding device for rolling of the horizontal sliding block, and two buffer reset devices are designed each with a spring which can have its degree of compression adjusted to adjust the acting angle between the cam sliding block and the horizontal sliding block for adjustment of acting force and stroke to form a cam slider which can convert vertical action of punching machine to horizontal action.

Abstract: A paper-cutting machine has a board which is provided at one end thereof with a rail support for supporting a rail. One end of the rail is pivotally supported by the rail support through a pin. Thus, the other end of the rail is movable up and down about the pin. A slider is movably provided on the rail. A rotatable cutter blade is attached to the slider. A paper holder is resiliently supported on the reverse side of the rail through a spring. A hook is attached to the distal end of the rail. The distal end of the rail is fixedly fitted to a guide member provided on the board. The rail support is provided with guide pins for pressing both side surfaces, respectively, of the rail by means of resilient force from respective springs. The slider is mainly comprised of a cutter blade-side slider body, a slider body and a cutter blade holder. The cutter blade holder is equipped with the cutter blade which is rotatably attached to a slide portion of the cutter blade holder.
