  • Patent number: 9089985
Abstract: A sheet feeding device includes a moving mechanism (20) configured to move a cutting edge (Ba) of a movable blade (B) away from a cutting edge (Aa) of a fixed blade A to move the cutting edge (Ba) of the movable blade (B) from an open position (X) where a fed sheet (S) is received and to place the cutting edge (Ba) of the movable blade (Ba) at an open position; a mechanism (35) biases the movable blade (B) toward the fixed blade (A) so that the cutting edge (Ba) of the movable blade (B) slides against the cutting edge (Aa) of the fixed blade (A) a blade spacing mechanism (40) moves the movable blade (B) away from the fixed blade (A) against a biasing force of the biasing mechanism (35) during a allowing the movable blade (B) to reach the open position (X) after cutting of the sheet S with the movable blade (B). The spacing mechanism (40) includes a cam (41) provided on the fixed blade (A) side and a cam follower (42) in contact with the cam (41) provided on the sides of the movable blade (B).

  • Patent number: 7066222
Abstract: In a slicer having a table for supporting a workpiece from which a slice is to be sliced, a knife is linked at opposite end portions of the knife to cranks for moving the knife in strokes having components generally transverse and parallel to the knife. The table with supported workpiece moves toward the knife while the knife moves for making the slice.

  • Patent number: 6799497
Abstract: A cutting or trimming knife for cutting or trimming the edges of sheet members is bi-directional and capable of moving downwardly and in a first lateral direction, or alternatively downwardly and in a second opposite lateral direction. The knife is held by a guide mechanism capable of shifting between first and second positions to cause the bi-directional movement of the knife.

  • Patent number: 4690185
Abstract: A rim driven circular saw and a drive pinion rotatable about respective ones of a pair of spaced apart parallel axes wherein each of the saw and pinion having projections of gear tooth form about the outer periphery thereof with the teeth of one meshing with those of the other. The teeth on the saw each have a cutting edge set back from the normal intersection of the face and the top land of the teeth. The saw is journalled for rotation on a plate carried by a rigid frame and the plate has a thickness at least no greater than the kerf generated by the saw. The pinion is fabricated from a non-metallic substance such as nylon. Also disclosed is an accumulator type tree felling head incorporating, as the cutting device, a saw of the foregoing type.

  • Patent number: 4200020
Abstract: A hydraulically operated cutting machine has a machine frame; a knife bar movably supported on the frame; a hydraulic power cylinder; and a bell crank lever operatively connecting the power cylinder with the knife bar for moving the knife bar into a lower cutting position and a raised position. The bell crank lever is articulated to the machine frame at a fixed center of rotation and the hydraulic cylinder is articulated to the bell crank lever at a first displaceable center of rotation spaced from the fixed center of rotation. An actuating rod is articulated to the knife bar and further to the bell crank lever at a second displaceable center of rotation spaced from the fixed center of rotation. The first and second displaceable centers of rotation travel, respectively, along a first and a second circular path as the bell crank lever pivots about the fixed center of rotation.

  • Patent number: 4031792
Abstract: A press adapted to operate dies such as tubing cutoff dies through a lightweight ram mounted on a parallelogram linkage for oscillating motion rather than for the usual reciprocating motion on a slide. The ram linkage is operated through a crankshaft and connecting rod by a motor, clutch, brake and flywheel. The machine is compact and uses radial bearings rather than slide bearings to guide the ram. The crankshaft and drive mechanism for the ram linkage is conveniently and accessibly located.

  • Patent number: 3948134
Abstract: A machine tool driving device suitable for use in a shearing machine, a press or the like which has a machine tool mounted on a tool support vertically movable along a fixed frame, the device comprising at least a pair of links connected to the support for drivingly imparting vertical reciprocating movements thereto, the pair of links being always disposed symmetrically with respect to an imaginary vertical plane which passes through the center of the tool support plate so that horizontal components of the driving force which is imposed on the support by the paired links are cancelled by each other to allow high precision work.

  • Patent number: 3945287
Abstract: A metal plate shears for cutting large sheets of metal includes a fixed blade, and a movable blade cooperable therewith. The movable blade is mounted on a plate having a plurality of circular apertures therein. Discs are mounted in these apertures, the discs being eccentrically supported, the axes of the eccentrics being in the same angular relation to and the same angular relation from, the centers of the discs. Arms are secured to the discs, and hydraulic means are provided for rotating the discs about their eccentric axes. Rotation of the discs lowers the plate bearing the movable cutting knife past the fixed knife, shearing off a sheet inserted between the blades.
