    Abstract: An engine exhaust gas cleaning apparatus is provided to minimize torque shock as during regeneration of an exhaust gas cleaning device. The engine exhaust gas cleaning apparatus comprises a fuel delivery device that delivers fuel to an engine at a lean excess air ratio during normal operation of the engine; a NOx trapping catalytic converter that adsorbs NOx from the exhaust gas during the lean operation; a regeneration control section that adjusts the excess air ratio to a rich target value to regenerate the NOx trapping catalytic converter; a feedback control section that feedback-controls the fuel delivery quantity to hold the excess air ratio at the target value during regeneration; a feedback control restricting section that restricts the feedback control during regeneration until the difference between the target value and the actual excess air ratio is less than a prescribed value.

The back flow is caused by creating a pressure difference across the porous walls.     Abstract: An air purification system for purifying recirculated air eg in an aircraft, vehicle, offices or hospitals comprises the combination of a filter section with an ultraviolet illumination section and a coating of an antimicrobial agent on surfaces in one or both of the filter and illumination sections. Air flow through the illumination section is caused to be slightly turbulent by means of a multi-bladed fan being fixed in position between the filter and illumination sections. This increases the dwell time of contaminants in the illumination section. The antimicrobial agent includes as an active ingredient a quarternary ammonium salt and preferably as the following structure.

    Abstract: The invention provides a process for removing soot particles from exhaust gas from produced by a diesel engine. The process uses a particle filter that collects soot particles with the aid of nitrogen dioxide which is generated by catalytic oxidation of nitrogen monoxide contained in the exhaust gas. The process is characterized in that the particle filter is a deep-bed particle filter, having a filtration efficiency for the soot particles. The particle filter is coated with a catalytic coating for oxidizing nitrogen monoxide to nitrogen dioxide and the exhaust gas leaving the particle filter subsequently filtered through a particle filter serving as a soot barrier. The filter can have a filtration efficiency of over 95%.

A combustion gas 401 which is dedusted is supplied into a gas turbine 4 to generate power, and combustion gas 501 heats a waste heat recovery boiler 5 which in turn drives a steam turbine 7. The mineral 106 containing MgO is added in the combustion gas 301 which flows in the ceramics filter 31a, 31b. Thereby MgO is added to the combustion gas so that the filter differential pressure elevation rate can be suppressed.

    Abstract: Apparatus and methods for reducing CO2 content of an air stream are described. A method of reducing CO2 content of an air stream in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention includes the steps of first injecting hydrated lime into an air stream containing CO2. The hydrated lime reacts with the CO2 in the air stream to form calcium carbonate, CaCO3. The air stream is then directed into a lime storage container having a dust collector. As air is drawn through the dust collector, hydrated lime and CaCO3 are collected on the filter bags. The air drawn through the dust collector has a reduced CO2 content as compared to the air prior to being injected with hydrated lime. The reduced CO2 content air stream exhausted from the dust collector can then be directed to the different parts of the hydrated lime manufacturing process, such as the milling process, conveying and storing the hydrated lime.
