  • Patent number: 11655966
Abstract: Sealed LED lighting fixtures operated under certain conditions (e.g., outdoors, in cold ambient environments, at high operating current, and/or in non-hermetic environments) will oftentimes exhibit condensation on an inner surface of the emitting face of the fixture. When occurring, said condensation impairs the ability to produce useful light—namely, light harnessed and directed in a manner so to provide lighting for a task (or otherwise desired)—by diffusing light emitted from the lighting fixture. Envisioned are apparatus, methods, and systems to reduce moisture in sealed LED lighting fixtures so to reduce or eliminate condensation, and in a manner that addresses both fixtures already in the field and those being assembled in a factory setting. In one form, a carrier embedded with desiccant is positionally mounted inside the fixture in a desired position which has no or minimal impact on light output from the fixture.

Abstract: Improvements in a filter where the filter self-expands based upon increased pressure or vacuum in the filtering stream. The expandable filter is adaptable to filtering a wide variety of media including air used in HVAC units, gases that are used to filter impurities out of gases and for industrial applications. The expandable filter to maintain a constant pressure or vacuum in the plenum or filter. The filter self-expands as the pressure or vacuum increases and pushes, pulls or draws the filter into an elongated or heightened configuration. As the filter expands new filter material is exposed that was not previously exposed for filtering. Expansion doubles, triples, or further increases the filter collection surface area. The filter does not rely upon gravity and expands based upon the increase of pressure or vacuum in the plenum the filter can be arranged in a vertical or horizontal orientation.

  • Patent number: 8323388
Abstract: A filtration system has a filter housing, a pollution filter, and a connection conduit. The filter housing has an inlet chamber having openings. The pollution filter is positioned within the filter housing adjacent the inlet chamber to cover the openings. The connection conduit connects the filter housing with a relief valve so that gasses vented from a hydrocarbon distribution system through the relief valve are directed into the inlet chamber and through the pollution filter, which removes pollutants from the gasses.

  • Patent number: 8282716
Abstract: A jacket material into which a gas adsorbing device and core material are inserted is decompressed in a vacuum chamber, the opening is sealed, and then the jacket material is exposed to the atmosphere. In the atmospheric pressure, a pressure of about 1 atm which is equivalent to the pressure difference between the inside and outside is applied to the jacket material of the heat insulator. The jacket material is made of a plastic laminated film and is deformed by pressure. A protruding portion is plunged into a container to drill through holes, and a gas adsorbent in the container communicates with the inside of the jacket material. Thus, both during holding and in applying to the vacuum heat insulator, the gas adsorbent can be applied to the vacuum heat insulator without degradation, and the high degree of vacuum can be kept for a long time.

  • Patent number: 8277546
Abstract: A hydrocarbon adsorption trap for adsorption of hydrocarbon vapors includes a sheet-like hydrocarbon vapor adsorbent member having a hydrocarbon adsorptive media disposed between two or more media retention layers. The sheet-like member is inserted into an air permeable media support body including a first support member having a first set of locking members and a second support member having a second set of cooperatively configured locking members. The locking members are cooperatively aligned and configured to releaseably lock the first and second support members into a facing relationship with the hydrocarbon vapor adsorbent media arranged and retained therebetween. Mounting features are provided for mounting the hydrocarbon adsorption trap within the intake tract.

  • Patent number: 8262782
Abstract: A gas mask filter canister of varying shapes is filled by orienting the a fill opening to face upwardly, introducing into the fill opening a particulate filter material, and vibrating the filter canister at a frequency and amplitude, and for a time until a predetermined packing density is reached. The invention can be used to fill elliptical or other odd shaped filter canisters having a concave profiles to conform closely to the curvature of the wearer's face.

Abstract: Lightweight, portable oxygen concentrators that operate using an ultra rapid, sub one second, adsorption cycle based on advanced molecular sieve materials are disclosed. The amount of sieve material utilized is a fraction of that used in conventional portable devices. This dramatically reduces the volume, weight, and cost of the device. Innovations in valve configuration, moisture control, case and battery design, and replaceable sieve module are described. Patients with breathing disorders and others requiring medical oxygen are provided with a long lasting, low cost alternative to existing portable oxygen supply devices.
