Abstract: A process for the production of a multicolor reversal image with improved color balance is provided which process comprises the steps of directing incident image light dot- or linewise modulated by a light-distributing means onto a multicolor photographic silver halide emulsion material containing a blue-, a green- and a red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer and processing said silver halide emulsion layers to form a color reversal image. In the maximum density part of the dots or lines of said light distributing means e.g. a contact screen the ratio of the absorption density for the light corresponding with the spectral sensitivity region of the silver halide emulsion layer being during the exposure most remote from the light-distributing means to the absorption density for the light of the whole visible spectrum (400-700 nm) is higher than the said ratio in any other density part of the dots or lines (see FIG. 1).

Abstract: Flame retardant, char-forming, flexible polyurethane foams are described which include, in addition to suitable diisocyanates and other basic foam-forming components, a flame retardant material and a polyol which has substantially non-reactive hydroxyl groups with respect to the diisocyanate component under the conditions of the foam-forming reaction. Accordingly, the polyol remains in the finished polyurethane foam substantially unreacted. When the finished foam product is subjected to combustion conditions the flame retardant material and unreacted polyol combine to retard flame formation and to provide a dripless char. In addition to the flame retardant and char-forming characteristics, the flexible polyurethane foam is firm, permitting the manufacture of clickable foams.
Abstract: The present invention relates to compounds of the type comprising a ballasting group which renders said compounds substantially fast to diffusion in hydrophilic colloid media and at least one photographically useful group which is chemically linked to said ballasting group, and to photographic elements containing at least one compound of the type referred to.The ballasting groups in the compounds according to the present invention are derived from mono- or di-esters or -ethers of glycerol. The linkage between ballasting group and photographically useful group can be realized via acid chlorides which are derived from the above-said glycerol derivatives.

Abstract: A process for producing phosphoric acid group containing polyester resins with substantially total linkage of the phosphoric acid or derivative thereof into the resin system. The process is characterized in that at least 0.1, preferably 0.2 to 1.5, moles/kg of phosphor in the form of a polyphosphoric acid and/or an acidic phosphoric acid ester of mono- or polyhydric alcohol based on the polyacid of the final product is esterified with the other reactants in a 40 to 80 percent by weight of solids containing solution of one or more diluents inert towards the raw materials employed. The reaction is carried to the substantial total linking of the phosphoric acid into the resin system and to an intrinsic viscosity of 3.0 to 25.0 ml/g (DMF, 20.degree. C.).

Abstract: An airspeed sensing post includes a static pressure sensing device having such a revolutionary shape that when the incidence angle varies, the fluid flow arriving near said sensing device is always the same and along a surface having the same contour. Thus, the aerodynamic conditions are always the same when the direction of the fluid flow varies. So, no correction of measured static pressure is required in dependence of the pitch angle.
Abstract: This invention relates to the joining of two metal sheets such as in the repair of automobile body components. There is provided a tool which may be utilized to first form a dimple in one or more sheets, and then form a bore through the one or more sheets in alignment with the dimple so that the head of the fastener utilized to join the sheets may be recessed within the dimple and covered by a suitable filler material to provide a flush surface. The tool and the method of utilizing the same are particularly adaptable for securing together sheets utilizing conventional pop rivets.
Abstract: Herein disclosed in a front fork for a two-wheeled vehicle, in which a fork tube carrying a piston at its lower end is slidably fitted in a bottom casing filled with working oil, in which a seat tube fixed to the bottom portion of the bottom casing has its upper portion inserted into the fork tube, in which a check valve operating so as to be closed upon contraction of the fork and opened upon extension of the fork is carried by the lower end of the fork tube, in which a check valve operating so as to be opened upon the contraction of the fork and closed upon the extension of the fork is slidably fitted on the fork tube above the piston, in which as orifice is formed in the fork pipe thereby to provide communication between the inside and outside thereof, and in which a plurality of orifices are formed in the seat tube and are arranged in the axial direction of the same.
Abstract: A hydraulic shock absorber of the type having a piston fitted in a cylinder filled with a working oil to thereby construct a shock absorbing force generating mechanism, including a cylindrical shock absorbing rubber seat for preventing shock fitted onto the end portion of the piston rod; a protecting cylinder with at least its leading end having a larger diameter than that of the rubber seat fitted on the base portion of the rubber seat; a spring receiving collar fitted on the outer side of the protecting cylinder; a mounting fixture screwed onto the end portion of the piston rod, and a coil spring interposed under compression between the spring receiving collar and the cylinder so that the spring receiving collar is forced into contact with the mounting fixture. The replacement of the spring can be easily performed without damaging the rubber seat. Further, the outer circumferential side of the rubber seat is protected from being damaged by the spring when the shock absorber is compressed to its limit.
Abstract: Polyurethane foam products comprising a foam filled with a foam and a large amount of solid material inert to the foam products are described. The foams are prepared by foaming a polyurethane foam-forming diisocyanate and polyol around pre-formed polyurethane foam chips having incorporated therein or therewith solid materials inert to the foam. The inert material can be a fire- or combustion-retardant material; a material such as graphite or the like to render the foam conductive; or a filler material to impart various other characteristics. The polyurethane foam-filled foams can be tailored to have excellent physical characteristics and are particularly suitable for furniture upholstery, cushioning applications including in mattresses, and where special properties are required.

Abstract: Each ceramic fiber block is temporarily supported by a supporting member and bar combination previously secured to the furnace casing, before it is finally secured to the casing by another supporting member and bar combination. No separate means for holding the block temporarily is required. As ceramic fiber blocks and supporting members are alternately attached to the casing, it is possible to ensure intimate contact between every two adjoining blocks. The absence of any extra work for holding the blocks temporarily improves the efficiency of the block installation work.
Abstract: Paint binders which are water soluble upon neutralization with bases comprising the reaction product of a polyepoxide containing reactive oxirane groups with phosphonic acids containing hydroxyl and/or vinyl groups. The paint binders when stoved at low temperatures have increased chemical resistance.
Abstract: Mold and core rod combination for forming a plastic parison for stretch/blowing into a plastic bottle comprising a core rod with an end mated to the mold so as to permit formation of a parison with a flat on the bottom and having a sharp taper from said flat to the sidewall of the parison. The core rod is preferably shaped to include a shoulder having a substantially straight outer wall at the mouth end of the parison mold, and constructed and arranged with the mold to permit deposit of additional plastic at the inner wall of the shoulder of the parison. The design of the mated mold and core rod combination is based on the recognition that in a continuous bottle forming process a particular area of the parison can be made hotter or cooler by increasing or decreasing the thickness of that area of the parison.
