  • Patent number: 6776455
Abstract: An armrest for a passenger seat includes an armrest support for being pivotally-mounted to a seat frame for movement between a lowered position and a raised position. The armrest support defines a void for carrying wiring and cabling and an opening adjacent the pivoting end of the armrest for permitting access to the interior of the armrest support. An armrest pivot cover is provided for normally being received in and covering the opening of the armrest support to protect the wiring and cabling. The armrest pivot cover includes a pivoting cylindrical member mounted for pivotal movement in a socket for a predetermined range of pivotal movement relative to the armrest support. A flexible hinge is carried by the pivoting cylindrical pivoting member for permitting further movement of the lower armrest cover past the partially-open position to a fully-open position thereby exposing fully the wiring for installation or service access.

  • Patent number: 6769886
Abstract: A rotary vane pump, including a housing within which is rotatably mounted a rotor having a plurality of slots therein with a vane positioned for sliding movement within each of the slots. An access port is formed in the housing communicating with the rotor at a reference position in relation to the slots. The access port is sized to permit alignment of any one of the slots with the access port by rotating the rotor, maintaining the vane within the aligned one slot and at a datum within the slot, and permitting entry into the access port of an aligned slot of a stylus having a predetermined length in relation to the datum for determining the length of the vane. A determination of whether wear to the vane has met or exceeded a predetermined amount can be determined by reference to a portion of the stylus exterior to the access port.

  • Patent number: 6751840
Abstract: A wirelaying apparatus and method using a tool (30) having a cutter (31) operatively opening a cut in the interior bore surface (11) of a cylindrical pipe fitting (10), laying wire (12) into the cut and closing the cut using a flange closer (33). The wire (12) is delivered into the cut via an aperture (32) through the cutting means (31). Delivery of the wire (12) into the cut is thereby improved, overcoming the problem of wire running free within the fitting. In a second embodiment (see FIG. 12) the cutter (31) is rotatably mounted allowing a double helical coil to be formed without removing the cutter from the bore surface.
