  • Patent number: 8054510
Abstract: A document reader comprises line sensors that are staggeredly arranged and read a white reference plate to obtain a white reference read value A, and a white reference average value AA is determined from value A for each line sensor. The line sensors read another white reference plate placed on a document support plate to obtain a white reference read value B, and a white reference read average value BB is determined from value B for each line sensor. A sensitivity effect coefficient C for each line sensor is determined by dividing BB by AA. Using the line sensors, there are obtained a document read value E for each line sensor by reading an illuminated document on the document support plate, a white reference read value Aa by reading with the white reference plate before reading the document, and a black reference read value D by reading the white reference plate under a condition that an illumination is turned off before reading of the document.

  • Patent number: 8038060
Abstract: Techniques for providing an ID image on a print medium are disclosed. Commodity information on a commodity settled in a store is received from a store terminal installed at the store. ID images, defining ID information in a frequency domain and accompanied by attribute information that is used by the store terminal to decide whether or not each of the stored ID images is to be printed, are stored. A correspondence between the commodity information and the stored ID images is also stored. ID images corresponding to the received commodity information from the stored ID images using the stored correspondence are then retrieved. An attribute list, which registers the attribute information of the stored ID images that is used by the store terminal to decide whether or not each of the stored ID images is to be printed, is stored. Thereafter, only the retrieved ID images which have been decided to be printed based on the stored attribute list are transmitted.

  • Patent number: 8041980
Abstract: A time certifying server has a clock unit that outputs time information. Units of time equal to or larger than a predetermined unit are acquired from the time information. Units of time from the time information smaller than the predetermined unit are corrected using an acquired correction time and without correcting the acquired units of time equal to or larger than the predetermined unit. A reference time is received from a reference time distributing server that distributes reference time. A verification process is then executed to verify that the clock unit operates at a precision falling within a predetermined range by confirming that, in the time of the units equal to or larger than the predetermined unit, the acquired time and the received reference time coincide with each other. A certification target information that serves as time certification target is received from a client terminal.
