  • Patent number: 7326194
Abstract: A fluid ducting assembly for enabling flow communication between a syringe and either one of a vessel and a dispenser for dispensing a fluid contained, a priori in the syringe or in the vessel. The fluid ducting assembly includes a base having a first member, a second member, and a third member for connection to and providing flow communication with the syringe, the vessel and the dispenser, respectively. The fluid ducting assembly further includes a flow controller within the base enabling any one of a flow path between the first member and the second member and a flow path between the first member and the third member. The flow controller has either a first operative position in which the flow path between the first member and the second member is enabled or a second operative position in which the flow path between the first member and the third member is enabled.

  • Patent number: 7327642
Abstract: An optical disc drive includes a light source, a lens, a focusing section, a spherical aberration corrector, a focus signal generator, a gain calculator and a processor. The focusing section forms a beam spot in a focusing state on the information storage layer of an optical disc by controlling the position of the lens. The spherical aberration corrector changes a spherical aberration with the beam spot in a focusing state according to a drive value of a driving signal supplied to the spherical aberration corrector. The focus signal generator generates a focus signal representing the focusing state of the beam spot. The gain calculator calculates a loop gain of a focus control system in response to the focus signal. The processor determines the drive value for the spherical aberration corrector by the loop gain.

  • Patent number: 7327971
Abstract: A fitting construction for a developer holding apparatus includes a housing member and a lid. The housing member has a developer chamber having a first wall that defines an opening. The lid fittingly closes the opening, the lid having a smaller tensile modulus of elasticity than the housing member and a groove that is formed in a peripheral portion of the lid and receives the projection therein. The groove extends all around the opening. The first wall fittingly engages into the groove to seal the opening. The lid includes a second wall that closes the opening, an third wall that projects from the second wall, and an fourth wall that projects from the second wall and extends to surround the third wall to define the groove between the third wall and the fourth wall.

  • Patent number: 7327968
Abstract: To provide an image forming system capable of displaying appropriately a plurality of apparatus statuses at low cost, the image forming system is structured upon connection of an independently operable printing apparatus with an independently operable scanning apparatus. The scanning apparatus stores in an NVRAM a status message of the printing apparatus corresponding to operable level information of the printing apparatus and displays the appropriate status message on a display unit upon selection among the plurality of status messages for indicating status of the printing apparatus based on the operable level information retrieved from the printing apparatus based on control by a main controller.

  • Patent number: 7323344
Abstract: A method is provided for the quantitative analysis of the contents, in nitrogen, of hydrogen and methane by ionic mobility spectrometry. The method includes the steps of: a) performing a measurement of the apparent hydrogen concentration in the nitrogen to be analyzed; b) performing a measurement of the apparent hydrogen concentration in a flow of the same sample of nitrogen, purified of all impurities but methane; and c) comparing the two measurements. A system of branched lines is also provided for carrying out the method.

  • Patent number: 7320912
Abstract: A method for forming a trench capacitor includes: removing a portion of the substrate to form a trench within the substrate; forming at a buried isolation layer within the substrate; forming in the substrate a first electrode of the trench capacitor at least in areas surrounding a lower portion of the trench; forming a dielectric layer of the trench capacitor; and forming a second electrode of the trench capacitor in the trench. The buried isolation layer intersects with the trench and has one or more gaps for providing body contact between a first substrate area above the buried isolation layer and a second substrate area below the buried isolation layer.

  • Patent number: 7321292
Abstract: A racing caution-condition control system includes a master control station and first and second caution-condition warning systems. The master control station has a master activation input and a transmitter, and the master activation input is coupled to the transmitter and selectively causes the transmitter to send a caution-condition signal output. The first caution-condition warning system has a first receiver in communication with the transmitter. The first caution-condition warning system is activated when the first receiver receives the caution-condition signal from the transmitter. The second caution-condition warning system, different from the first caution-condition warning system, has a second receiver in communication with the transmitter. The second caution-condition warning system is activated when the second receiver receives the caution-condition signal from the transmitter.

  • Patent number: 7321107
Abstract: A heat transfer material comprised of a polymeric material and a nitride or oxide is provided and is thermally conductive, but electrically non-conductive. The polymeric material may be silicone rubber, and the nitride or oxide may be aluminum nitride, boron nitride, silicon nitride, aluminum oxide or beryllium oxide. The material is made flexible by adding plasticizer and remains flexible after an extended period of use. A dielectric jacket for an electrical heating cable is thermally conductive and remains flexible so that it can be reused. The heat transfer material can be used on heating devices such as steam tubes and panels, where the heat transfer material does not bond to or adhere to the heated surface, which allows the heating device to be reused.
