Patent number: 6705138Abstract: An outside transmission assembly of a lock includes an outside spindle, an outside hub for rotatably receiving the outside spindle, a cam received in the outside spindle, a sleeve received in the cam, and a lug. The cam has an ear releasably engaged with a retractor. The lug has an arm and a ring formed on an end of the arm and mounted to the first end of the sleeve. The arm extends through the cam and the outside spindle. The cam and the outside spindle are turned jointly when the outside handle is turned. When the locking bar is moved to a locking position, the lug and the sleeve are moved away from the retractor. The cam is also moved away from the retractor such that the ear of the cam is disengaged from the retractor, allowing free rotation of the outside handle.Type: GrantFiled: November 25, 2002Date of Patent: March 16, 2004Inventor: Mu-Lin Shen

Patent number: 6705973Abstract: A display for exercise devices includes a holder, a display body, resilient members, two damper assemblies and a lock assembly. The holder has an open top and a central cavity. The display body has a bottom and is movably mounted in the central cavity of the holder with the resilient members and the damper assembly. When the display body moves downward in the central cavity and compresses the resilient members, the lock assembly mounted in the holder near the bottom of the holder locks the display body in position. When the lock assembly unlocks the display body, restitution forces in the resilient members push the display body smoothly out of the central cavity by means of the damper assemblies damping the speed of the display body.Type: GrantFiled: January 2, 2003Date of Patent: March 16, 2004Inventor: Su-Jung Fon

Patent number: 6706639Abstract: A process forms electrical interconnects between memory bits in a magnetoresistive memory device. An initial dielectric layer is formed to overlie a semiconductor substrate. A magnetoresistive storage layer is formed over the initial dielectric layer. An electrically conductive stop layer that is selective to etch processes and is mechanically hard is deposited over the magnetoresistive storage layer. A hardmask layer is formed to overlie the stop layer. The hardmask layer is etched to expose the stop layer. The stop layer and the magnetoresistive storage layer are etched using ion milling until the initial dielectric layer is exposed, defining individual magnetoresistive memory bits. An isolation layer is formed over the hardmask layer and in the etch regions between magnetoresistive bits. The isolation layer is planarized using chemical mechanical polish (CMP) until the stop layer is exposed.Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 2001Date of Patent: March 16, 2004Assignee: Union Semiconductor Technology Corp.Inventors: Randall Scott Parker, John Jeffery Wagner, Hans Peter Mikelson

Patent number: 6705393Abstract: A ceramic heat sink having a micro-pores structure includes a heat dissipation layer, and a thermal conductive layer. The heat dissipation layer forms a ceramic micro-cell structure, which is combined with a sub-micrometer powder, thereby forming the heat dissipation layer. The thermal conductive layer is mounted on the heat dissipation layer to contact with a heat source. Thus, the thermal conductive layer absorbs the heat energy from the heat source; the heat dissipation layer has a micro-pores structure with hollow crystals, and the air functions as the media of heat dissipation, so that the heat dissipation capacity of the ceramic heat sink is greatly enhanced.Type: GrantFiled: February 25, 2003Date of Patent: March 16, 2004Assignee: ABC Taiwan Electronics Corp.Inventor: Chaby Hsu

Patent number: 6701808Abstract: Wrench capable of preventing a screwed member from slipping out and holding the screwed member. One end of the wrench has a head section formed with a polygonal socket. Multiple teeth are formed on the circumference of the socket for engaging with the screwed member. An annular groove is formed in the head section and a resiliently stretchable retainer ring is disposed in the annular groove. An inner edge of the retainer ring protrudes into the socket to form a stopper section. When the socket is fitted onto the screwed member, the retainer ring serves to stop the screwed member from slipping out of the socket. Also, the retainer ring can be resiliently outward stretched from the annular groove to make the screwed member fitted into the retainer ring and held thereby.Type: GrantFiled: February 8, 2002Date of Patent: March 9, 2004Inventor: Chih-Ching Hsieh

Patent number: 6701813Abstract: A wrench comprises a rod, a retainer, a pressing member, and a casing for accommodating the retainer and allowing relative pivotal movement between the casing and the retainer. The pressing member is received in the casing and slidable along a longitudinal direction of the rod. The pressing member is biased to press against two ends of the retainer, thereby exerting an engaging force between each of two ends of the retainer and an associated one of the ends of the pressing member. When a rotational force applied to the casing is smaller than the engaging force, the retainer and the rod are turned to thereby turn the fastener. When a rotational force applied to the casing is greater than the engaging force, the casing and the pressing member slide while the retainer and the rod are not turned.Type: GrantFiled: January 7, 2002Date of Patent: March 9, 2004Inventor: Bobby Hu

Patent number: 6695630Abstract: A connector assembly for a memory module includes a body having two standing pivot seats and two fasteners pivotally connected to the two pivot seats respectively. Each standing pivot seat has two recessed guides and two through pivot holes communicating with two recessed guides. Each fastener has a front and rear wall. Each front and rear wall has a protruding detent and a pivot pin. The protruding detents and the pivot pins correspond to the two recessed guides respectively. The pivot pins are inserted into the two through pivot holes when the fastener is mounted in the standing pivot seat so the fastener can pivot in the standing pivot seat to easily mount the memory module. In addition, the protruding detents press against the two recessed guides to hold the position of the fastener in the standing pivot seat, so the fastener can securely hold the memory module.Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 2002Date of Patent: February 24, 2004Assignee: Egbon Electronics Ltd.Inventor: Yueh-Chu Ku

Patent number: 6684452Abstract: A carpet extractor (10) operable in either a restorative cleaning mode or a maintenance cleaning mode includes a constant rate pump (96) which dispenses clean solution through a manually operated valve (98) to one of two lines (100, 102) having nozzles which restrict dispensing to high and low solution flow rates. In the preferred form, clean solution is dispensed at the high flow rate directly upon the carpeted surface and at the low rate upon the agitating brush (88). When restorative cleaning is desired, the valve (98) is manually moved to dispense at the high flow rate and a switch (110) is also manually moved resulting in the chassis (18) being propelled at a slow working speed. When maintenance cleaning is desired, the valve (98) is manually moved to dispense at the low flow rate and the switch (110) is also manually moved resulting in the chassis (18) being propelled at a fast working speed.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 2001Date of Patent: February 3, 2004Assignee: Nilfisk-Advance, Inc.Inventors: Dexter Lehman, Nick Graupe, Agnes Friese
