Abstract: A surgical scissors or forceps for use where the operative field is greatly reduced and the instrument is elongated with a low profile and having convexity of the shanks in order to measurably increase the beam strength of the device. The instrument is further provided with interchangeable handle inserts that provide additional weight at the back end of the instrument.
Abstract: An oral application for snoring prevention which has a flattened tube with an unobstructed airway and ridges on the inferior surface for pulling the tongue forward out of the path of the airway while the superior surface of the tube follows closely the hard and soft palate. The tube is short and extends in the oral cavity or mouth to a location which will not cause a gag reflex.
Abstract: A dual X-ray film-processing device having developer and fixer liquid receptacles connected to film processing tanks by twin chemical pumps through piping having valves therein whereby X-ray film for dental or medical use is being processed continuously thereby speeding up production while at the same time improving the resultant X-ray film surface image.
Abstract: A micro-surgical forceps having a handle and integral spring arms that are interconnected at the end of the forceps remote from said blades in a tongue and groove arrangement that allows for operation of the forceps with a minimum of finger pressure. Plastic covers for the handle for securing the forceps blades is a further embodiment of the invention. The forceps are fabricated of a non-heat treatable metal and the gripping platforms are manually adjustable. A scissors having sharpened curved blades that form an arc across one another and are fabricated of non-heated metal that is flexible.
Abstract: An arrangement for monitoring and detecting a sleeping driver incorporating a load cell connected to electronic scales for establishing a base line force value when a driver grasps the steering wheel so that when the driver relaxes the grip on the steering wheel and the force value falls below the established base line value an alarm is sounded.
Abstract: A dental impression tray having two identical one half parts in which each part can be used for making a partial dental impression and wherein the two one half parts can be removably combined for a full mouth impression of a patient.
Abstract: A portable positioning tool for consistent locations of either plastic or metal electrical utility boxes or upright studs. The tool locates the pre-established vertical height from the floor for the electrical box as well as the position of the front surface of the electrical box relative to the thickness of the finished wall. The tool is provided with a replaceable mounting block for either a plastic or metal electrical outlet box.
Abstract: An artist painting brush having a brush head including a ferrule and a brush tuft, a forward barrel having a portion with a reduced cross section, a hollow grip fitting over the part with reduced cross-section. The brush head is fixed to the forward barrel whereby the ferrule brush tuft and forward barrel are replaceable, and a rear barrel having means to be removably connected to the front barrel whereby the cross-section of the combined forward barrel portion and hollow grip is substantially the same as the cross-section of the rear barrel. The ferrule is fabricated of stainless steel in order to avoid the possibility of allergic reaction to an artist handling the painting brush.
Abstract: A method of taking dental impressions for various types of dental work which is a two step process with only one tray insertion. The impression materials are selected and have durometer measurements which permit a technique without the use of a retraction cord, and the materials are highly thixotropic providing accurate results with a minimum of patient discomfort.
Abstract: A mobile carriage for a powered hedge or bush trimmer in which both straight and curved or round cuts can be achieved. The hedge trimmer can be moved manually in a curved guide so that the hedge can be configured with a curved top as well as curved sides or a curved cop and straight sides. A multitude of cut designs are possible with the apparatus.
Abstract: Flotation equipment for mineral processing having a single column with multi-sections or chambers in which the partitions between chambers can be moved for optimum hydrodynamics resulting in the separation of different particles in each chamber which rises to the top of the chambers entrained with air bubbles to form froth layers. Provision is made for processing large particles in at least one of the chambers.
