Abstract: A hair curler roller and apparatus for generating steam for heating the hair curler roller. The roller is a foam with a solid backing. The foam has a foraminous construction created by abrading the outer surface of the roller cover so that the steam entering through the exterior surface of the roller cover is maintained within the roller cover for a period of time before exiting out into the hair strands wound on the roller cover. A housing for the hair curler rollers is provided with a misting device so that the rollers are misted externally and the housing is provided with a plurality of separate misting chambers.
Abstract: A hand saw principally for use on sheet rock or gypsum wall board having a bi-partite handle and a thumb stop. The saw blade is provided with in-line teeth which cut on the forward and backward motion of the saw and which are provided with large cleanouts. The cutting teeth are also in line and the saw blade itself is thicker on the cutting surfaces than on the top. The arrangement permits a higher grade of premium steel to be used and the teeth can be readily sharpened. The saw may also have a blade that is sharpened on the top to a cutting edge resulting in an all purpose cutting instrument.
Abstract: A baking and cooking machine which can knead dough and bake bread, but can also be used as a general oven for grilling, broiling and steaming food products. The device is rectangular in shape and the oven heating system includes a heating element and a fan, with a baffle arranged to conduct and direct a large part of the heated air into the oven chamber and against the side walls to thereby augment the heat in the chamber.
Abstract: In method and apparatus for analyzing motion of an individual for a predetermined activity, such as during a golf swing, forces on weight pads supporting the individual's feet are converted to signals corresponding to relative weights and dynamic forces on the weight pads. These parameters are displayed numerically as well as graphically on a video image of the individual during performance of the activity, in order to enable the analysis of variation in weight distribution and dynamic forces during the activity.
Abstract: A portable rod-like device for depressing a vehicle pedal, such as an accelerator or a brake pedal to a predetermined setting and maintaining that setting in the form of a screw-threaded rod and a mating screw-threaded nut having a hook. The nut rides up the screw-threaded rod and engages the steering wheel of the vehicle while the other end of the rod engages the pedal. The rod depresses the accelerator pedal against spring pressure while the engine is operating and the accelerator pedal is depressed to a point whereby a predetermined setting has been reached on the tachometer of the vehicle, and maintained at that setting. The device can be finely adjusted in small increments. The foot at the free end of the rod frictionally engages the accelerator pedal and can be mounted in either a fixed position or can be swivel mounted.
Abstract: A blow-molded toothpaste tube being rectangular-oval in configuration for display without a carton, and having a bottom and top narrow, flat, parallel panels and wider front and rear panels for brand identification and indicia. The tubes are stackable horizontally on one of the narrow panels to a selected vertical height on a shelf.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for the ignition of fuel injected into an internal combustion engine, wherein combustion is initiated by spraying fuel directly onto a spark plug with heated electrodes. The heating of the electrodes may be effected energizing them independently of the engine rotation.
Abstract: A food fryer and processor for solid food, such as potatoes, and having a rotatable blade and a rotatable paddle for cutting the food product into segments and ejecting the segments into an adjacent perforated basket within a receptacle having hot oil therein for frying the food product. Several types of interchangeable cutter blades can be used for slicing the food product.
Abstract: A method of processing contaminated soil whereby the soil in the form of feed stock is heated in a combustion chamber of a processor with the hydrocarbons being evacuated to a condensing system resulting in a petroleum product while the soil feed stock is detoxified in an afterburner to form clean soil for general use.
Abstract: An inductive discharge ignition system for an internal combustion engine uses two ignition transformers with their associated circuitry. One transformer is employed in a Kettering type high voltage system. The other transformer is used in a low voltage high current output system. The Kettering system initiates spark plug arcing. When the arc is established the lower voltage high current circuit increases the arcing since only lower voltage is needed to sustain or increase the arcing once arcing is established.
Abstract: A mailbox decorative attachment being a flat sheet which is cut out to form a pictorial or silouetted representation and which is adhered to the curved outer surface of the mailbox and in which a portion of the pictorial representation projects outside, and may be under, above or around the mailbox configuration to form a substantial three-dimensional part of the picture.
Abstract: A locking device for a powered conveyance having an apertured ski, such as a snowmobile positioned on a trailer, and having a locking bar passing through the aperture of the ski, and provided with an elongated screw-threaded bolt with a crank handle on one end and a nut on the opposite end of the bolt and under the trailer, whereby when the crank handle is rotated the nut is tightened against the bottom of the trailer, and a lock is provided for the crank handle.
Abstract: A stop device for placement over the extreme end of an elongated handle of the type used for a broom, mop, rake, or the like, which has a frictional outer surface so that when the handle is placed in an upright position against a vertical wall it is prevented from sliding off the wall to the floor or ground. The device is in the form of a sleeve having a circumferential score line medially thereon so that the sleeve can be severed along the score line to provide two separate stop members, either of which can be used with an elongated handle.
Abstract: A portable anti-theft device has a gravity operated switch, settable manually or by action of gravity to an open position. This switch is connected in series with a key switch and an alarm, to provide an alarm when the gravity operated switch is moved. The gravity operated switch may be a mercury switch. The gravity operated switch may be pendularly mounted, and be restrained from movement by operation of the key switch.
Abstract: A system for automatically leveling a vehicle, such as a recreational vehicle installed with a plurality of extensible jacks and disposed at strategic positions on the vehicle underside, and responsive to an automatic level control electronics to extend simultaneously all of the jacks and at different speeds as determined by the angle of vehicle versus gravity and bring vehicle to a level condition. The jacks are stopped when they are use higher current than that used before the jacks contact the ground, to assure ground contact, and the vehicle is level.
Abstract: A lottery number selection device having a rotatable drum with offset or staggered slots around the periphery. The drum contains an amount of numbered chips or discs corresponding the total amount of numbers in a lottery, the chips being agitated by rotating the drum and passing individually out of the sized slots until six or more numbers for the lottery picks are selected.
Abstract: A dowel fastening support device for insertion into a bored hole of a structural element having a support member outside the bored opening and an elongated shank having pivotable triangular-shaped gripping members for insertion in said bored hole, said gripping members being so configured that the forward edge of each member is spaced from the adjacent interior surface of said bored hole, and the device is provided with a pointed element at the end of the shank remote from the support end portion for automatically centering the dowel device, when the latter is inserted in said bored opening.
