  • Patent number: 7992209
Abstract: A bilateral data transfer system comprising a first node, a second node, a first one-way link for unidirectional transfer of first data from the first node to the second node, and a second one-way link for unidirectional transfer of second data from the second node to the first node, wherein the unidirectional transfer of the first data across the first one-way link and the unidirectional transfer of the second data across the second one-way link are independently administered by the bilateral data transfer system. Under such bilateral data transfer system, each of the one-way data links may be subject to separately administered security restrictions and data filtering processes. Hence, it enables secure bilateral communications across different network security domains.

  • Patent number: 7986162
Abstract: An interface of the present invention includes a first inverter circuit that inverts a logic level of an input signal given to an external input terminal and outputs the inverted logic level, a second inverter circuit that outputs a potential in which a logic level of an output signal of the first inverter circuit is inverted, that is, a potential higher or lower than a logic of an input signal applied to the first inverter circuit by the amount of a predetermined potential, and a feedback path that positive feedbacks an output signal of the second inverter circuit to the external input terminal. The interface circuit of the invention positive-feedbacks a potential of the output signal of the second inverter circuit and shifts the potential of the external input terminal in a floating state to an H or L level potential.

  • Patent number: 7982874
Abstract: A method of measuring sizes of particles suspended in a liquid using optical mixing spectroscopy of scattered light and an apparatus for implementing the method are disclosed. The method involves making measurements by a fiber optic probe introduced into a medium under investigation, the probe including several multiple or single mode optical fibers. One of the optical fibers transmits light into the medium, while the other optical fibers transmits scattered light to a device for providing spatial coherence of the light and then to a light detector. Auxiliary optical fibers are used to determine the relationship between spectral line widths of multiple and single light scattering when measurements are conducted in very turbid media and for determining particle sizes from multiple rather than single scattering spectrum.

  • Patent number: 7946780
Abstract: A cosmetic dispenser comprises a brush, a cylinder, a ratchet wheel comprising internal ratchets and external ratchets, a rotating sleeve including a cosmetic reservoir and a piston. The brush is attached to the cylinder, which is rotatably attached to the revolving sleeve. The ratchet wheel is attached to the end of the cylinder disposed inside the revolving sleeve. The piston extends through the ratchet wheel and has a piston head disposed in the cosmetic reservoir of the revolving sleeve. An axial tunnel extends the entire length of the piston and communicates with a cosmetic reservoir. A needle extends from the brush into the piston axial tunnel. This cosmetic dispenser is constructed in such a way that, relative rotation of the cylinder and the rotating sleeve in a dispensing direction results in displacement of the piston head into the cosmetic reservoir and pressurized flow of a liquid cosmetic from the cosmetic reservoir to the brush.

  • Patent number: 7941526
Abstract: A special syslog daemon on a send node, wherein the send node is connected to a receive node by a one-way data link, the special syslog daemon configured to receive a syslog message from a syslog sender, insert a portion of IP information of the syslog sender in the body of the received syslog message and route the resulting syslog message to the one-way data link so that the resulting syslog message can be sent through the one-way data link to a syslog receiver communicatively coupled to the receive node. The present invention resolves the potential conflict between syslog and one-way data transfer applications that are configured to remove IP information from data prior to its passage through a one-way data link, thereby leading to a further enhancement of network security through their combination.

  • Patent number: 7917384
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to a system and method for analyzing sales opportunities, and more particularly, provides a seller of goods and/or services the ability to predict whether potential customers are suitable to engage in a particular transaction. The present invention also assists a seller in identifying and removing unsuitable customers early in the sales process. The present invention utilizes metrics to measure the suitability of potential customers and analyzes, among other things, potential conflicts that may arise among key decision makers of the potential customers, with the seller working with those customers to resolve any such conflicts. Moreover, the present invention analyzes whether the potential customer has characteristics which are acceptable and/or unacceptable to the seller. Moreover, the seller analyzes its own products and/or services to determine whether it could provide such customer with a unique competitive advantage.
