  • Patent number: 5704758
Abstract: An article placing assembly having a pushing mechanism constructed and arranged to engage and move articles from an article stack. The assembly has opposing pivoting gate members which cooperate to hold and release successive articles. Movable clamps further cooperate to hold the article stack as successive articles are sequentially moved from the article stack. A process is set forth for separating and removing successive articles from an article stack in a magazine.

  • Patent number: 5659999
Abstract: An automatic closure assembly for a sliding panel, particularly of the screen door type, is disclosed. One or more power springs, operable in their linear ranges are mounted within a compact housing configured for ready attachment to a surface adjacent the sliding panel. The springs apply tension to a cord wound on a take-up reel within the housing. One end of the cord is screwed to the sliding panel such that as the panel is moved in an opening direction, the power spring(s) are wound in tension to apply closure forces to the panel. Different selections are provided for enabling an operator to select a plurality of different discrete tension forces to be applied by the closure assembly to the sliding panel.

  • Patent number: 5643386
Abstract: An assembly process for inflatable fabric bag plugs used to seal low pressure pipelines. The assembly process steps include marking and cutting coated fabric elements from a predetermined woven fabric and a plurality of sealing strips. The fabric elements and sealing strips include a plug body portion, main seam cap strips and first and second end seam cap strips. The process steps further include forming a flat tubular plug body from the plug body portion and bonding sealing rib extrusions thereto. A first end closure is formed in the plug body, a first tethering assembly is bonded over the first end closure and ports are installed therethrough for receiving an inflation assembly and a gauge assembly. A second end closure is formed in the plug body and an opposing tethering assembly is formed and attached thereover.

  • Patent number: 5547336
Abstract: An article release assembly mounted on the from or exit end of an article supply magazine. The article release assembly is for use in feeding successive thick or heavy rigid articles from an article supply magazine. The article release assembly cooperates with an article transfer assembly and comprises an upper magazine clip assembly and a lower magazine clip assembly which cooperate to shift upward the next-out article from the article stack in the magazine. The upper clip assembly has an elongated body with an upwardly extending retention slot having specified dimensions. The lower clip assembly has an elongated body with an upwardly extending terminal end having a rounded portion. The retention slot of the upper clip assembly and the rounded portions of the lower clip assembly cause the first or next-out article to be repositioned with respect to the article stack as the article transfer assembly transfers successive articles from the article stack in the magazine.

  • Patent number: 5546991
Abstract: An inflatable fabric bag plug for sealing low pressure pipelines. The bag plug has a body portion constructed of a coated fabric material and includes a plug body portion, main seam cap strips, first and second end seam cap strips and a plurality of sealing strips which are bonded over all internally and externally exposed fabric edges to prevent leakage when the plug is inflated. The body portion has first and second end closures and opposing tethering assemblies which are bonded over the end closures and to the plug body portion. An inflation assembly and a pressure gauge assembly are provided for inflating and deflating the plug as well as monitoring the plug during use. Bypass assemblies are provided to permit the passage of fluids through the bag plug when inflated in a pipeline.
