  • Patent number: 7941928
Abstract: A pair of scissors having a pair of looped handles has a clip such as a carabiner-style inwardly-opening gate mounted on the outer-most perimeter of one or both of the looped handles. Where the clip is a carabiner, the distal end of each gate, distal from the gates hinge, is oppositely disposed relative to the fulcrum of the pair of scissors. The non-gate portion of each of the looped handles containing a gate includes a hooked portion adjacent the distal end of each gate. The hooked portion includes a stop to limit movement of the gate. A resilient loop is mounted around the levers of the scissors between the handles and fulcrum so as to urge the scissors closed.

  • Patent number: 7913964
Abstract: A painting pail system includes a bucket, a bucket support, and a brace for the support. The bucket has an open top. The open top has a rod mounted thereacross. The support may be a U-shaped support having a pair of arms extending from a base, where the base is mounted to the substantially vertical brace so as to extend the arms substantially horizontally from the brace. The rod is mounted at its ends to distal ends of the arms, that is, distal from the base. The upper end of the brace includes a pair of mounting hooks spaced apart laterally so as to hook over an upper rung. The brace is elongate and its lower end is adapted to engage against a lower rung. A selectively engageable third hook latches the pair of mounting hooks onto the upper rung. The bucket may be removed from the support by releasing a latch arm mounted on the support.

  • Patent number: 7874604
Abstract: An apparatus for moving a slide-out compartment of a vehicle. The slide-out compartment is slidably received in an opening in the side of the vehicle. The apparatus includes a rotatable member having a distal end wherein the rotatable member is rotatably mounted to one of the slide-out or the opening so as to rotate the member about a horizontal axis parallel to a first plane substantially containing the opening. A drive rotates the rotatable member. A slotted bearing portion is mounted to the other one of the slide-out or the opening. Rotation of the rotatable member causes the distal end to bear against so as to slide along the slot in the bearing portion to selectively extend or retract the slide-out compartment relative to the vehicle. The rotatable member and drive may be mounted adjacent to the opening in the vehicle wherein the bearing portion is mounted in an end wall of the slide-out.

  • Patent number: 7794192
Abstract: An apparatus and method for handling pipes in a derrick and racking the pipes on a pipe racking assembly mounted on the derrick. The apparatus includes a rotatable gate assembly rotatably mounted on the pipe racking assembly. The rotatable gate assembly includes a collar rotatably mounted to a first end of a rotatable pipe support. A pipe manipulator arm is pivotably mounted on a second end of the rotatable gate assembly. The collar defines a gate for securing an upper portion of the pipe stand. A pipe mount is mounted to a distal end of the arm for holding the pipe stand for transport between the derrick and the gate, and between the gate and the pipe rack. After the arm secures the pipe stand into the gate from the derrick, a drive mechanism rotates the rotatable gate assembly to a rack facing position from the derrick facing position such that the arm may transport the pipe between the gate and the pipe rack.

  • Patent number: 7712752
Abstract: A storage device for transporting equipment includes a housing having a base end, a pair of retractable wheels, and a foot operated actuator for retracting and extending the wheels from the housing. The housing defines at least one compartment for storing the equipment. The housing has a handle at an upper end thereof, an open front defining an opening into the housing, and a door for selectively closing the open front. The actuator is coupled to a lower end of the housing towards its base end. Actuation of the actuator displaces the wheels between retracted and extended positions while the housing is resting on its base end. A user while grasping the handle depresses a foot pedal component of the actuator to extend the wheels against the resiliently biased return force of a spring. A manually operated latch releases the wheels to their retracted position urged by the spring.

  • Patent number: 7703551
Abstract: A fluid driven drilling motor and system includes a flex shaft between the rotor and a cylindrical flow collar. The end of the flow collar opposite from the flex shaft has a bore in fluid communication with a drill bit. Ramped apertures are formed in the side wall of the flow collar. The ramped apertures are in fluid communication with the bore. Drilling fluid flowing under pressure down past the flex shaft is directed and drawn into the ramped apertures along a fluid flow path which spirals downwardly and radially inwardly of the flow collar so as to then flow into the bore. The pressure loss associated with drawing the drilling fluid down to the drill bit is thereby minimized.

  • Patent number: 7610870
Abstract: Platform boats intended to be used for motorized boating and for forming-up with adjacent similar boats to form a continuous and contiguous mat of boats for socializing, fishing etc. The adjacent boats interlock and form an array of such boats all interlocked with one another. The boats may be shaped in planform as hexagons or other polygons but are preferably regular polygons which interlock without leaving gaps between adjacent boats. Each boat has a center well in which is mounted a motor. The motor may be rotated 360 degrees for driving the boat in a corresponding direction about a 360 degree range of motion. A pair of rudders is mounted on opposite sides of the center well to provide for directional stability, both in the manner of a keel, and for steering. When used as a keel, the rudders are elevated up into a channel so as to lock them in-line. The rudders may also be lifted entirely up into the channel to store the rudders when not in use.
