The phospholipid material is capable of forming an aqueous preparation comprising an emulsion or dispersion comprising an aqueous phase substantially free of said ibuprofen active ingredient and a discrete phase consisting essentially of said phospholipid material and insoluble pharmacologically active ingredient including said ibuprofen active ingredient on the addition of water to said composition. The invention also provides aqueous drink preparations (especially heated emulsions) produced thereform and a process to prepare said aqueous drink preparations.

    Abstract: A semiconductor light emitting device includes a substrate, an n-type layer formed of gallium-nitride based compound semiconductor formed on the substrate, and a p-type layer formed of gallium-nitride based compound semiconductor formed on the substrate. Semiconductor overlying layers are constituted by the n-type layer and the p-type layer on the substrate. A light emitting layer is formed together with the n-type and p-type layers in the semiconductor overlying layers to emit light. At least one of the n-type layer and the p-type layer is formed by three or more overlying sublayers including a sublayer of AlyGa1-yN (0<y≦0.5) and a sublayer of AluGa1-uN (0≦u<y). With this structure, the semiconductor light emitting device is almost free from lattice mismatch to thereby enhance electron mobility and hence light emission efficiency even where the overlying semiconductor layers are different in lattice constant from the substrate.

    Abstract: A method and an apparatus for electrokinetically decontaminating the soil contained in a radioactive waste drum are disclosed. The radioactively contaminated soil is put into drums, and the drums are carried to a temporary storage or to a disposal site. If the extremely low level radioactive soil is decontaminated rather than carrying the soil to the temporary storage or to a disposal site, and if the decontaminated soil is returned to the nature, then the limited storage capacity can be saved. Further, if a high level radioactive soil is treated to a low level one, and if thus a low level radioactive soil is stored in a storage, then the safety is improved. In the present invention, electrodes are buried into the contaminated soil contained in a radioactive waste drum, and a dc current is supplied, so that the radioactive nuclide and impurities can be removed by the electroosmosis and the electromigration.

    Abstract: We have recently proposed special catalysts, Pt-supported zeolites, for the selective oxidation of carbon monoxide in reformed fuels from methanol or natural gas. They can be applied to polymer electrolyte fuel cells, of which Pt anode catalysts suffer serious poisoning by the trace amount of CO. In order to enhance the performance of the catalysts, the selective CO oxidation was examined over Pt—, Ru—, Pd—, Co—, and PtRu— supported zeolites in a large excess of H2 with the addition of a low concentration of oxygen. It was found that Pt, Ru, and PtRu supported on mordenite can oxidize CO much more selectively than a conventional Pt-supported alumina catalyst. Ru/mordenite showed the highest selectivity of approximately 100% at 200° C. with a certain flow rate of the reactant. Pt-Ru/mordenite exhibited fairly high selectivity of 90% over a wide flow rate condition even at 150° C.
