  • Patent number: 6119067
Abstract: An object detecting system mounted on a conveyance such as a vehicle having a laser radar as an object detector mounted on the vehicle at a position offset from the vehicle longitudinal center line, for adjusting in a factory the radar mounting position in a software manner by utilizing a computer program. A reflective target is placed ahead of the vehicle on the line extending from the vehicle longitudinal center line at a position relatively close to the vehicle in the factory. The central axis of the transmitted beam is first aimed at the target reflector such that the axis is made equal to the direction of the target reflector, and is changed by an angle of offset such that the axis is aligned with an inherently desired direction which is parallel to the vehicle longitudinal center line.

  • Patent number: 6079408
Abstract: A plurality of sun-ray collecting units connected to one another by parallel links and arranged in rows on first turning axes are supported on a pair of turning frames that can be turned about the first turning axes. Each of a pair of push-pull cables 54 is connected at one end thereof to a cable driving device and at the other end to one of the sun-ray collecting units which are supported in plurality on each of the turning frames. Thus, a space for placement of a sun-ray tracking system can be relatively reduced in size and the turning angle of each of the sun-ray collecting units about the first turning axis can be relatively increased. The sun-ray collecting units can be turned about the second turning axes in a simple structure using a single drive source.

  • Patent number: 6078202
Abstract: Disclosed are a semiconductor device of which a block having a plurality of portions that operate based on a plurality of clocks can be designed and inspected easily, and a method of designing the semiconductor device. First and second clocks whose frequencies are mutually different are used to generate an enabling signal that is validated only during a short period including a transition edge of the second clock. The enabling signal and first clock are supplied to the second portion. The second portion synthesizes the enabling signal and first clock to substantially generate the second clock. Thus, the second portion is regarded as a portion that operates synchronously with the first clock.

  • Patent number: 6062868
Abstract: A sing-along data transmitting method includes the steps of providing a sing-along data center for supplying background video data and music data, and providing a plurality of sing-along data receiving terminals for receiving the background video data and music data fed from the sing-along data center. The next step is transmitting a plurality of background video data by way of a plurality of different channels, and transmitting music data of a plurality of melodies by way of at least one channel. The method further includes the step of transmitting a channel data indicating a channel through which said background video data corresponding to a selected music is being transmitted, with the channel data being transmitted together with music data. There is also provided a sing-along data transmitting/receiving system for carrying out the above sing-along data transmitting method.

  • Patent number: 6061001
Abstract: The detection region to which the electromagnetic wave from a vehicle is transmitted ahead in a direction of movement of the vehicle in order to detect an obstacle such as another vehicle in front or the like, is composed of a first detection region looking slightly upward with respect to the road surface and a second detection region looking slightly downward with respect to the road surface. Received signal strengths of reflected waves in the first and second detection regions are compared with each other. When the two received signal strengths are substantially equal to each other, the vertical angle of the object detecting apparatus is judged adequate. When the received signal strength of the reflected wave in the upper-side, first detection region is larger, the angle is judged downward.

  • Patent number: 5881422
Abstract: The invention is directed to a device for cleaning the tongue to maintain positive oral hygiene and to control the proliferation of bacteria, plaque, tongue debris and film and the like. The device is used to scrape the tongue to remove bacteria, tongue debris and film and other particular matter from the tongue. It can be easily rinsed and reused, and, because it is manufactured from plastic, is easy and inexpensive to manufacture.
