  • Patent number: 5117467
Abstract: A colony counting apparatus includes a reading unit with a visual sensor incorporated therein. The presence of a colony is detected at the end of that colony by moving the reading unit along lines selected at an appropriate pitch and by reading data on the individual points set along each line as logical high or low signals. The values obtained in the above-described counting operation are added and stored in an addition/storage device in a CPU, and the results of addition which are stored in the addition/storage device are output to a suitable display by an outputting device when the counting operation is completed.

  • Patent number: 5117148
Abstract: The vibrator includes a columnar vibrating body consisting of a piezoelectric material. The vibrating body is formed into a polygonal or cylindrical column and, when necessary, a through hole is formed axially thereof. Furthermore, the vibrating body is polarized. On side faces of the vibrating body, at least three external electrodes are formed. Also, when the through hole is to be formed, an internal electrode is formed on its inner circumferential surface. By applying the driving signal to these electrodes, the vibrating body bends and vibrates. And, when the rotational angular velocity is applied to the vibrating body about its axis, a coriolis force is produced responsive thereto. By this coriolis force, the vibrating direction of the vibrating body changes, and a voltage is produced between the two external electrodes. By measuring the voltage, the rotational angular velocity applied to the vibrator can be measured.

  • Patent number: 5117333
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a solid electrolyte capacitor with organic semiconductor which comprises a capacitor element, a solid electrolyte layer formed by heating and melting TCNQ complex salt, impregnating the TCNQ salt into the capacitor element and thereafter cooling and solidifying the same, a powder coating layer formed to cover an upper portion of the capacitor element through a clearance, and a sealing resin layer covering the powder coating layer for sealing the capacitor element.Since the powder coating layer is formed on the upper portion of the capacitor element through a clearance, it is possible to reduce influence exerted on the element by contraction or expansion caused by thermal stress which is applied in a soldering step. • Patent number: 5115678
Abstract: A method of checking the functioning of a driving wheel slip control system installed in a vehicle. Driving wheels are placed on support rollers and rotatably supported thereby. The driving wheels are driven by the engine. False signals indicative of tentative rotational speeds of trailing wheels are supplied to an ECU which in turn outputs a control signal for controlling the engine. Predetermined monitoring signals including at least the control signal output from the ECU are taken out from the driving wheel slip control system. It is determined whether the predetermined monitoring signals show values falling within respective predetermined allowable ranges. Further, a steering handle of the vehicle may be turned at the same time of rotation of the driving wheels, the steering angle of which is detected by a steering angle sensor. Further, instead of using the false signals, the trailing wheels may be placed on second support rollers for rotatably supporting the trailing wheels thereby.

  • Patent number: 5114314
Abstract: A reciprocating type fluid delivery pump has a driving motor, plungers for driving two pump heads, respectively, and a converting mechanism for converting the rotational motion of the driving motor into a reciprocating motion of each plunger. The converting mechanism includes a cam having such a configuration that, when the driving motor is rotated at constant velocity, the delivery flow rate during the delivery starting period of each of the plungers is in excess of that during the other periods of the cycle. The speed of rotation of the driving motor is reduced during the excess delivery period according to need. Thus, the load on the driving motor is reduced and it is therefore possible to employ a driving motor having a relatively low output. The delivery pump also includes a rinsing chamber for each plunger for allowing pressurized fluid to pass therethrough. The rinse chamber includes a rinse pump which uses the reciprocal movement of the pump piston for the rinse mechanism.
