  • Patent number: 6661231
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided, by which a state of charge of a battery is accurately computed without being influenced by the polarization effect. An estimated voltage of the battery 13 in a constant load discharge with a predetermined large current value is estimated from a voltage-current characteristic when the discharge current of the constant load discharging process by the battery 13 that is in an equilibrium state is decreasing from the predetermined large current value corresponding to a maximum supplying electric power to the load. A difference between the estimated voltage and an open circuit voltage, which estimates the estimated voltage and is a terminal voltage of the battery 13 that is in an equilibrium state before the start of the constant load discharge by using the predetermined large current value, is calculated.

  • Patent number: 6662073
Abstract: A machining simulation is performed on a graphic data basis prior to machining. Machining simulation means (17) simulates a forced-vibration frequency and/or a load variation frequency occurring due to interrupted cutting on the basis of machining information, and numerical control command generating means (18) generates a numerical control command on the basis of the frequencies obtained from the machining simulation means (17). A spindle rotation speed can be reflected on the actual machining and the generation of a machining program under conditions optimum for the actual machining. Therefore, the interrupted-cutting forced-vibration frequency and/or load variation frequency, or harmonic frequencies thereof which are integral multiples thereof are prevented from being close to the natural frequency of a machine, a tool, a jig or a workpiece. Thus, chattering due to resonance can be prevented, thereby improving a surface accuracy.

  • Patent number: 6662121
Abstract: When a micro-heater heats fluid using an external driving current, an upstream thermopile 8 detects the temperature of the fluid before it is heated to produce a first temperature detected signal and a downstream thermopile 9 detects the temperature of the fluid before it is heated to produce a second temperature detected signal. The flow rate is computed based on the difference signal between both detected signals. A right thermopile 11 and a left thermopile 13, which are arranged in a direction orthogonal to the flow direction of the fluid, detect the temperature of the fluid to produce a right temperature detected signal and a left temperature detected signal. The property of the fluid is computed on these right and left temperature detected signals. The flow rate is corrected on the basis of the property thus computed. The flow rate of an object fluid for measurement can be accurately measured by a flow sensor whose output characteristic varies when the kind or composition of the fluid changes.
