  • Patent number: 6467660
Abstract: A holster includes a quick release withdrawal restraint and is constructed of an inner and outer sidewall joined together along a front and back to define an inner cavity with an open top shaped to fit a handgun. The quick restraint includes a mechanical stop located in the inner cavity to engage a portion of the handgun adjacent the ejection port to inhibit withdrawal upwardly prior to rearward movement of the handgun. A mechanical blocking element is also provided adjacent the rear of the trigger guard that is biased into a first position to prevent rearward movement of the gun and a second position that allows for rearward movement of a gun when the blocking element is moved by pressure on a thumb or finger ledge.

  • Patent number: 6463637
Abstract: A protective device for attachment to a waist belt of a law enforcement officer to prevent inadvertent opening of the belt buckle, the device includes a sleeve adapted to slide along the belt to a position snugly covering the closed buckle and slidably movable away from that position to permit release of the buckle. The sleeve preferably has funnel ends and is formed of a rigid material. A slot in the inner wall of the sleeve permits temporary expansion of the sleeve to accommodate for the increased thickness of the loop of the belt about buckle end connections for the loop followed by a contraction of the sleeve to snugly encase the buckle. A stiff sleeve with releasable fasteners at its ends and with release fasteners between the buckle and sleeve are alternate embodiments.

  • Patent number: 6375142
Abstract: A mounting assembly for mounting a fixture in an opening in a wall that defines a recess includes a unitary frame housing having a first and second pair of oppositely disposed and spaced side members connected at right angles to define an open interior space. A pair of clamps are provided for engaging the rear surface of a wall and are pivotally connected to a respective first side member by a combination of holes in the clamp, side member and bolts. The hole in the respective side member is larger than the diameter of the bolt to allow the clamps to be pivoted inwardly of the wall opening. When the bolts are tightened, the clamps are moved outwardly and pulled toward the rear surface of the wall to sandwich the wall between a clamp and a first side member. The clamps are self aligning with the flange as they are being tightened together.

  • Patent number: 6371341
Abstract: A movable blocking member is pivotally mounted to the holster and movable between a first position where ratable motion of the hood is blocked and a second position where rotatable motion of the hood is allowed. The hood is rotated to allow a handgun to be removed from a holster. The hood must be depressed downwardly prior to rotation. In one aspect of the block the blocking member prevents rotation of the hood after downward motion of the strap. Alternate embodiments of the block provide a blocking member positionable to prevent the initial downward motion of the hood. Detents and detent recesses are provided to secure the blocking member in a desired position.

  • Patent number: 6371641
Abstract: This invention is a portable container resembling a large purse or a small piece of luggage that might be carried by a person to transport any of a variety of portable items to an outdoor sporting event. The container or bag has a flexible strap to allow the the bag to be carried by hand or to be slung over the shoulder. The bag has two identical internal pockets that extend across the full length and width of the bag and are openable by a zipper or other quick opening closure. Internally of one pocket is a block of a foamed elastomer that completely fills that compartment and thereby becomes a comfortable pillow upon which the bag owner sits the other pocket contains a protective cape that is heavy enough to keep the wearer warm and sufficiently water resistant to shield the wearer from rain or snow. Preferably, the bag will be printed or otherwise illustrated with the logo of a sports team so as to identify the owner as a fan of that team.

  • Patent number: 6363613
Abstract: The method for manufacturing a torsion bar shoulder bearing has four method steps: (1) the manufacture of a elastomeric spring as a not fully vulcanized molding for receiving a sleeve-shaped or bolt-shaped inner connecting part in a central bore and an outer sleeve-shaped connecting element; (2) the pretreatment of the surface regions, to be connected to the molding, of the connecting parts by means of an adhesive system; (3) the pushing of the molding onto the inner connecting part and the insertion of the molding thus reinforced into the outer connecting part (or in the opposite sequence), as a result of which the elastomeric molding is clamped under moderate prestress between the two connecting parts, and (4) the concluding full vulcanization of the elastomeric molding in the assembled bearing, using a tempering furnace, at temperatures of below 140 to 150° C.

  • Patent number: 6336559
Abstract: Replaceable inserts are provided in depressions of a spiral separator wherein the inserts have surface irregularities to optimize the spiral efficiencies in separating feed stock materials. These irregularities become worn by the materials and would require replacement of the spiral, ordinarily, whereas new inserts herein greatly extend the useful life of the spiral. Also, if the feed of the spiral changes appropriate new inserts may be used to separate the changed feed. The inserts may be any shape, circular being preferred when adjustability is needed.

  • Patent number: 6329623
Abstract: This invention relates to an apparatus and method for electrostatically separating particles having different electrostatic properties. The apparatus involves two thin box-shaped electrodes facing each other as mirror-images and charged with a voltage field causing the opposing electrodes to assume opposite charges, and then passing a mixture of particles through the field so as to make the particles travel toward the respective electrodes through a perforated plate or screen and to a solid back plate and then to fall by gravity through a splitter adjusted to separate particles attracted by one charge from particles attracted by another charge. A vibrator is attached to each electrode, which is isolated for movement by spaced vibration isolators to shake off any particles stuck to the electrodes.
