Abstract: A self-starting rotational motor capable of providing significant torque in a practical working range is disclosed. The motor employs a magnetic propelling force. The motor is based on the principle of maintaining interacting substantially perpendicular rotor and stator magnet flux fields, one within the other, without gaps or spacing around the entire circumference of the magnet stator. The rotor magnets are controlled and moved relative to the stator magnets by a mechanism whereby the perpendicular rotor and stator magnet flux fields are maintained constantly in interacting relationship to produce turning of the rotor in one direction.

Abstract: A trailer caravan allows a motor home owner to tow a small automobile and boat in tandem relationship without exceeding overall length limitations. The tongue of a boat trailer is secured to the automobile trailer ahead of it by a pivot pin and a coacting tongue tie-down bar carrying two tongue radius adjusting bolts in opposing relationship to the opposite sides of the boat trailer tongue. Two tension springs are connected between the opposite sides of the boat trailer tongue and automobile trailer to assure proper tracking of the boat trailer while enabling the caravan to negotiate curves with safety.

Abstract: A stringed bass machine is disclosed in which vertical bass guitar strings are struck by hammers and are not plucked or strummed. An electrically operated upright piano action receives power from an external control box having an on-off switch. A musician can operate the bass machine by means of a remote keyboard and/or pedalboard. A unique sound is derived from an acoustically insulated soundboard, which encloses the guitar strings and piano action.

Abstract: An anchor for deck boards resting on a truss includes a deck board hold-down element, a truss-engaging resistance element and a threaded adjustable connector between the hold-down element and the resistance element.

Abstract: A closure lock to discourage theft of fuel from tanks is disclosed. A lock body is threadedly engaged with a tank closure cap and contains a key-operated eccentric which is biased toward a grip or locking position with a cable extending through a passage in the lock body and being secured to a locking bar which bridges the lower end of a splash sleeve within the tank adjacent to the tank filling opening. Releasing of the cable allows the cable and locking bar to drop to a position within the tank whereby the tank closure cap can be removed.

Abstract: A vacuum molded compartmentalized insert is temporarily or permanently installed in one end portion of an attache case, without the necessity of structurally altering the case. Various utility items and supplies can be held in the compartments of the insert, and space is provided in the attache case beneath and at one side of the insert for legal size documents and smaller documents, respectively. The insert is a great convenience for those who must largely work out of their attache cases while traveling.

Abstract: To enable a semi-trailer or full trailer to back up on a straight path, a remotely controlled locking plunger attached to the fifth wheel of a tractor or converter dolly is extended upwardly to enter a bushing carried by the king pin plate on the bottom of the trailer. The arrangement locks the trailer against pivoting relative to the tractor fifth wheel around the axis of the king pin.

Abstract: An electrical contact probe is produced by four passes of a profiled machining cutter across the longitudinal axis of the probe at circumferentially equidistantly spaced points and with the machining cutter on each pass traveling on a linear path disposed at an acute angle to the longitudinal axis of the probe. The contact probe so produced has a long pyramid center point surrounded concentrically by eight modified pyramid points in two levels or heights. The shortest level points are arranged in alternating relation with the other points surrounding the center point and all of the surrounding points are of lesser height than the center point.

Abstract: Upwardly conically tapered containers having glue on their peripheries are conveyed horizontally in succession through a labeling station while being rotated on their vertical axes. A stack of curved labels having their longer edges arranged lowermost at the labeling station receive constant forward pressure applied to the rear of the stack while the forward end of the stack is being engaged and held by a system of top and bottom adjustable knives which establish a twisted configuration to the labels in the stack. The arrangement allows each leading label in the stack to be taken therefrom by a rotating tapered container and to be applied to the tapered periphery of the container with the leading and trailing ends of the label substantially perfectly aligned and registered. A range of container sizes having varying degrees of taper can be accommodated by the labeling apparatus.

Abstract: A small regulator unit including a solid state timer activated by a reed switch is installed between a television receiver and a convenient wall outlet. The unit has a passageway adjacent to the reed switch for the reception of magnetic tokens which act on the reed switch, in turn activating the timer and completing a circuit through the television receiver. After a predetermined time period, the television receiver is turned off automatically so that viewing time can be controlled.

Abstract: A variably spring-tensioned capo-tremolo-slide is mounted on a guitar string bridging carriage having support wheels on opposite sides of the strings which engage and follow tracks recessed below the top face of the guitar body and being parallel to the strings and fretboard. During use, the attachment serves the purposes of three existing devices and produces effects which are uniquely its own.

Abstract: A longitudinally adjustable and lockable brace bar carries a pivoted foot piece at its lower end having a friction facing to prevent slippage while in contact with the floor. At its other end, the brace bar carries a pivoted yoke on a pivot axis which is parallel to the foot piece pivot axis. The bifurcated yoke engages beneath a door knob shank solidly with the yoke lying in a plane perpendicular to the door knob shank and perpendicular to the plane occupied by the foot piece while the brace bar is at an angle to the door enabling the device to resist entry through the door in an efficient and positive manner.

Abstract: A climbing animal barrier for tree trunks, poles, fences and walls is disclosed. A barrier wall consisting of accordion-pleated metal cloth is bounded on its exterior by a solid metal skirt element which the climbing animal cannot grip or penetrate with its claws and thus is effectively prevented from circumventing the barrier. When applied to a tree trunk, the barrier can expand automatically with tree growth. Serious loss of nut crops and the like is prevented.

Abstract: To decrease hemolysis and reduce the cost of single use disposable tubing used during surgery, valve elements pivotally suspended in the bypass pump compression chamber respond to gravity and variations in fluid pressure within the shunt and act entirely on the exterior of the shunt to cyclically control blood flow therethrough. Interior valves for the shunt tubing are entirely eliminated.

Abstract: A readily removable and washable cover for a beach lounge chair includes opposing end pockets which are slipped over cantilevered ends of the lounge chair. Between the end pockets is a contiguous panel which covers the seat area of the lounge chair. Depending free-hanging skirt portions on opposite sides of the cover are equipped with convenience pockets in ready reach of a user. Head pillow securing straps and slits enabling the attachment of a side table to the lounge chair can be included.

Abstract: French doors or other double hinge doors are barred against inward opening by an intruder by placing a pair of apertured support brackets in the door jamb at the hinged edges of the double doors and allowing these brackets to be supported by resting on two door hinges. A section of 2.times.4 lumber or other bar member is then placed through apertures of the brackets and extends across the two doors to securely bar them.

Abstract: An integral holding shell and wire wrap post for spring contacts is disclosed wherein the unitary product is formed by metal drawing operations instead of by separate machining and crimping operations previously carried out to connect the post to the holding shell. The product is gas-tight for a positive seal when used in vacuum test fixtures. Mechanical connections between the wire wrap post holding shell are eliminated, making the product more electrically sound. Manufacturing cost is reduced.
