Abstract: Boric acid is mixed, preferably at 0.1 to 10 w. % in relation to the solid content, into a sprayable dispersion based on an acrylic acid ester copolymer and a colloidal chloroprene polymerisate.
The spray is applied to at least one or both substrate surfaces, the substrate surfaces to be glued are laid against each other wet and pressed together with at least 0.1 N/cm2 for at least approximately 0.5 seconds.
The sprayable dispersion is preferably used for gluing foams, after a short compression the initial adhesion is so high that further processing or transport can be begun immediately.
Abstract: Characters to be grown, growth factor data representing the growth degree of each character and background information for expressing background environment for each character are stored. According to a result of analysis of a sound characteristic of sound source data analyzed by an input data analyzing section 211, a background information processing section 213 or a character processing section 215 retrieves data for realizing a corresponding expression manner. An image managing section 220 produces CG images representing a character and background environment based on the data in question and allows them to be displayed on a screen, so that a game player can confirm musical taste of the game player by watching the images in the growth process of the character. As a result, there is provided a display control apparatus which can diversify an expression manner of images according to inputted sound source data and thus enhance attractiveness of a game.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a flow regulation device for mitigating over travel of a piston in a fluid operated tool. The flow regulation device includes a flow channel through which flows an operating fluid to be supplied to operate the piston within the tool and a movable flow restrictor within the flow channel. The flow restrictor has an internal fluid passageway for regulating the flow rate of the operating fluid being supplied to the tool to operate the piston. The flow restrictor also has a frustoconical portion which mates or seats against a portion of the flow channel as fluid is being supplied to operate the piston. A spring is provided to insure that the frustoconical portion seats against the mating portion of the flow channel. When the piston is retracted and operating fluid is being returned to a supply, the force applied by the spring is overcome and the flow restrictor is moved so that the frustoconical portion is unseated from the mating portion.

Abstract: Substances such as chemical substances and biological substances including animal, vegetable and microbial cells are encapsulated using a process and an apparatus wherein a coil through which alternating current flows causes a magnet to vibrate creating vibrations such as in the range of between 300 to 4000 Hz that are transmitted to an encapsulating fluid containing the substance to form small substantially spherical particles containing the substance. The apparatus includes a pulsation chamber containing a movable wall for receiving the encapsulating fluid containing the substance to be encapsulated. A nozzle is spaced downstream from the pulsation chamber for receiving the encapsulating fluid from the pulsation chamber. A permanent magnet is mounted on the movable wall, and a coil is spaced from the permanent magnet by an air gap and is located proximate to the permanent magnet.

Abstract: A valve arrangement for controlling gas exchange in a piston-type internal-combustion engine consisting of an arrangement of valves through which it is possible to optimize the filling of the combustion chamber of the cylinder with the fuel mixture as well as exhaust of the residual gases of combustion.
Abstract: Described is an apparatus for the production of transversely ribbed tubes, having mold jaw halves which bear against each other along a common mold section and form a mold passage. Each mold jaw half has a cooling passage which is produced directly during the operation of casting the respective mold jaw half, for example by means of a so-called false casting core. The cooling passage extends in the corresponding mold jaw half from a first surface to a second surface so that said core can be easily removed from the casting of the mold jaw half. At the one surface, the cooling passage has a cooling agent feed means and, at a spacing therefrom, a cooling agent discharge means. The second surface which is at a distance therefrom is sealed off by means of a guide and slide element which is fixed to the corresponding mold jaw half.
Abstract: A process for die-casting aluminum and aluminum alloys is such that the molten metal is introduced into a filling chamber and injected from the filling chamber into a mold cavity by a piston. The mold cavity is evacuated in advance, after which it is flooded with oxygen. After flooding with oxygen and before injecting the molten metal into it, the mold cavity is again evacuated. Finally, the molten metal is injected into the hollow mold cavity. The process enables die-cast parts to be produced with low tendency to forming pores and blisters.
Abstract: Disclosed is a multi-dimensional selectivity estimation method using compressed histogram information which the database query optimizer in a database management system uses to find the most efficient execution plan among all possible plans. The method includes the several steps to generate a large number of small-sized multi-dimensional histogram buckets, sampling DCT coefficients which have high values with high probability, compressing information from the multi-dimensional histogram buckets using a multi-dimensional discrete cosine transform(DCT) and storing compressed information, and estimating the query selectivity by using compressed and stored histogram information as the statistics.
