Abstract: A method for repairing a gas turbine engine component includes the steps of repairing one of a suction side or a pressure side of the component; repairing internal geometry of the component after one of the suction side or the pressure side of the component is repaired; and repairing the other of the suction side and the pressure side of the component after the internal geometry of the component is repaired, wherein a backing material is utilized to preserve the internal geometry of the component when the other of the suction side and the pressure side of the component is being repaired.
Abstract: A device for driving switching elements is provided with a potential detector 29 which provides drive circuit 30 with signals in response to differences among potentials at junctions 17 to 20 of first and third resistors 13, 15, third resistor 15 and first control MOS-FET 8, second and fourth resistors 14, 16 and fourth resistor 16 and second control MOS-FET 9 so that drive circuit 30 supplies drive signals to a gate terminal of a first MOS-FET 1 based on potentials in first and second series circuits 11 and 12. When appropriate resistance values are selected for first to fourth resistors 13 to 16, potential detector 29 precisely detects the potential at each junction 17 to 20 to produce detection signals and prevent malfunction of drive circuit 30 even upon occurrence of abnormal signals or noises resulted from abrupt potential rise.
Abstract: A method for the continuous phase conversion of a product in a kneader mixer, into which the product is introduced, said mixer comprising kneading elements that are mounted on at least one shaft. The product is back-mixed until a predefined viscosity of the product is determined by measurement of the torque of the shaft, or a product with a predetermined viscosity that has already been achieved is back-mixed, the kneader mixer is then switched to a continuous mode, in which optionally and additional component is added and the product is subsequently transported to the discharge point.

Abstract: A compound cycle engine system has a rotary engine, which rotary engine generates exhaust gas. The system further has a compressor for increasing the pressure of inlet air to be supplied to the engine to a pressure in the range of from 3.0 to 5.0 atmospheres and an intercooler for providing the inlet air to the engine at a temperature in the range of from 150 to 250 degrees Fahrenheit. The system further has one or more turbines for extracting energy from the exhaust gas. The Miller Cycle is implemented in the rotary engine, enabling the compression ratio to be lower than the expansion ratio, allowing the overall cycle to be optimized for lowest weight and specific fuel consumption.

Abstract: An intuitive real spatial aiming-based system and identification and communication methods are presented. The intuitive real spatial aiming-based system includes aiming device, target devices and an indoor location-based service server. The aiming device includes a mobile computer or a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), which is provided with a first wireless communication tool, a first location tracking sensor, and an electronic compass having a magneto resistive sensor for detecting a directions. The target devices each includes a fixed computer, a home appliance, a PDA, or a mobile communication terminal, which is selectively provided with second wireless communication tool and a second location tracking sensor. The indoor location-based service server tracks the indoor locations and coordinates the aiming device and the target devices in real time. To tolerate sensor's error, an angle-based target region, a width-based target region, and a combination of the two regions presented.

Abstract: A container for cryogenic liquids comprises an inner container and an outer container which are positioned with respect to each other and are thermally decoupled from each other by a vacuum insulation layer. In order, with the lowest possible weight and lowest possible costs in series production, to achieve the best possible heat insulation, the inner container and the outer container are in each case composed of prepared fiber-reinforced elements which are in each case wrapped up together with a filament and are thereby connected to one another, and supports which are also composed of a fiber-reinforced plastic are provided on the inner container for the relative positioning of the inner container with respect to the outer container.
