Abstract: A grid strap includes a spacer grid spring that increases the conformal contact area with a fuel rod of a nuclear fuel rod assembly. The shape of the spacer grid spring is optimized, thereby increasing the elasticity of the spacer grid spring contacting the fuel rod, expanding the conformal contact area with a contact portion between the spacer grid spring and fuel rod to obtain uniform stress distribution, and reducing excessive plastic deformation of the spacer grid spring. Further, magnitude and distribution of contact pressure between the fuel rod and the spacer grid spring are improved, thereby reducing the possibility of fretting wear caused by contact between the fuel rod and the spacer grid spring. Lastly, the elastic behavior region of the spacer grid spring is expanded, so that the fuel rod can be reliably supported until the fuel rod expires despite changes in the supporting conditions of the fuel rod.

Abstract: So-called ‘rimmed’ or “half-rimmed” spectacles have two optical or sun lenses with contiguous edges between which is a bridge supporting the nose pads. The lenses are joined together by a central linking element and by a rigid full frame or a partial frame comprising a rigid upper part which is continued by a lower part in the form of two flexible and transparent cords housed in a groove running a the edge of each lens to support them. The spectacles are characterized in that the central linking means is a vertical bar inserted between the extreme adjoining flanks of the contiguous edges of the lenses, respective profiles being formed in the flanks to engage with, by housing, complementary profiles formed on the flanks of the linking bar, in such a way as to locate and secure it, and hence the lenses, without additional mechanical fixing devices.
Abstract: Methods and devices for creating a seal in a vessel for performing multiple anastomoses. The device includes an expandable region at the shaft assembly distal end with a sealing membrane that spans the expandable region, and a corresponding clamping member moveable toward the expandable region. Once inserted into the vessel lumen the expandable region is deployed from a first low-profile position into a second expanded position, and positioned at the target site of the anastomoses. Movement of the distal end of the clamping member, which remains located outside the vessel, against the expanded region creates a seal at the target site allowing a blood-free, graft site area that is large enough to accommodate multiples anastomoses.
