  • Patent number: 8254618
Abstract: A microphone which does not need a hanger plate structure is provided. A conductive hanger knob is provided at the back of the rear case of a microphone case. The hanger knob has three layers of a conductive shaft part, an insulator part and a conductive bolt part in the named order from its center. The shaft part is electrically insulated from the bolt part. A notch that locks the bolt part of the hanger knob at a hanger surface is formed at a conductive hanger hook on which the microphone is hooked via the hanger knob. A support spring portion disposed at the back of the hanger surface urges the shaft part of the hanger knob locked at the notch in a direction of pushing the shaft part back toward the hanger surface. This provides electric conduction between the shaft part and the bolt part via the hanger hook.

  • Patent number: 8241083
Abstract: An toy return glider having a first sheet member with a head cover section, a wing section and a tail section disposed along a longitudinal axis, and a rear air intake duct disposed within a connecting area between the wing section and the tail section. The toy glider also has a second sheet member with a body and rudders disposed along the longitudinal axis. The body has two longitudinal fold lines parallel to the longitudinal axis, and when the second sheet member is folded upward, two first slots extend obliquely rearward and downward with the rear air intake duct cover coupled with the two first slots, and the head cover section bonds a front section of the body to form a front air intake duct. The toy glider enhances the structural strength, overall stability and life time of the glider.

  • Patent number: 8241332
Abstract: The invention concerns a distance-keeping inter-process implant with a body (1) ending in its posterior part with two opposite-situated resistance protrusions (2). In the anterior part of the body (1) there are situated at least two wings (5, 6), at least one of which is a mobile wing (6) connected with the body (1) by an articulated joint. Each wing (5, 6) is provided with at least one guide (11, 13, 14, 15) of the tensioning band (4). The articulated joint between the mobile wing (6) and the body (1) is formed by the mutually collaborating shaped surface (7) of the. wing (6) and the shaped surface (8) of the body (1) and is usefully secured by the pin (12) that constitutes the axis of rotation of the mobile wing (6). In an alternative version of the implementation of the implant, the mobile wing (6) connected with the body (1) is provided with at least one arm (16) situated with respect to the wing (6) at the angle ? amounting to from 30° to 150°.

  • Patent number: 8244677
Abstract: A method for compressing and decompressing files is provided. The method includes creating a list of shift-invariant focal points of neighborhoods in the stream and comparing those focal points to a list of focal points created using the same method on the reference stream. The method of the present invention searches for the longest sequence of focal points that appear in both files. The method of the present invention also verifies that neighborhoods contain the same focal points. The changed data and references to the reference stream are then encoded. The decompression process decodes the encoded stream of data, and using the reference stream recreates the new version of stream.

  • Patent number: 8241928
Abstract: A semiconductor process test structure comprises an electrode, a charge-trapping layer, and a diffusion region. The test structure is a capacitor-like structure in which the charge-trapping layer will trap charges during various processing steps. Gate-induced drain leakage (GIDL) measurement techniques can then be used to characterize the charging status of the test structure.

  • Patent number: 8238162
Abstract: A method of detecting a disturb condition of a memory cell includes application of multiple sets of conditions to the memory cell and determining whether the memory cell behaves as a programmed memory cell in response to the sets of conditions. A disturbed memory cell can be detected if the memory cell responds as a programmed memory cell in response to one of the sets of conditions, but responds as an erased memory cell in response to another of the sets of conditions.

  • Patent number: 8239536
Abstract: A service controller for providing centralized service management, control and placement, as well as guaranteed failover, in a dynamic and distributed computing environment. The service controller works in conjunction with a computing resource supply manager, which supplies the required resources so that the service controller can run the service on the allocated resources. The number of active service instances may dynamically increase or decrease in accordance with changing availability of or demand for resources. The service controller monitors the service instances and takes appropriate action in the event of service instance failures. The service controller is provided with a service director component, which records and tracks, for each service instance which has been started on a particular resource/host, the IP address of such host, through a name location service, thus allowing end-users to locate the service regardless of where the service instances are physically running.

  • Patent number: 8233034
Abstract: A direct view display provides a light modulating panel and a backlight including first and second sets of spectral emitters. The first set of spectral emitters generate a first light bundle and the second set of spectral emitters generate a second light bundle. Several modes of operation may be provided including (1) an advanced 2D mode, (2) an enhanced color gamut mode employing simultaneous illumination of the first and second set of spectral emitters, (3) a privacy screen mode, (4) a channel multiplexed mode, and (5) a stereoscopic image mode. The latter three modes utilize the first and second set of spectral emitters to alternately illuminate a portion of the light modulating panel. Images and representations generated by the direct view display operating in the latter three modes are viewed using appropriate eyewear having filters with passband characteristics to transmit the respective light bundle.
